Chapter 97 - Chapter 97

"Hey, Peter, what are you talking about? Why do I feel like you're not doing so well?"

At that moment, the communicators in both the younger Peter's and Peter's ears rang out, and that voice came from none other than chubby little Ned.

It was a little gadget invented by Ned, a real-time communication device. It worked much better than a phone, and it was completely unaffected by signal coverage, because it operated on the same principle as a walkie-talkie and had an independent channel.

And the Peter that Ned was talking to was the younger Peter, not our protagonist Peter. After all, they were best friends, close buddies. Of course he would ask him first.

"We got to the scene! But that guy is hugging another Spider-Woman right now, and I'm fighting two people by myself! These two are using nothing but dirty tricks!"

"What?! There's another Spider-Woman?! Oh my God, how many Spider-people are there? Why do I feel like this world has turned into a giant spider nest packed full of Spider-Men?"

"Tell me about it. But now that you mention it, I kind of want to become Spider-Woman too..."

Michelle and Ned's startled voices came from the communicator. Clearly, their worldview had been completely destroyed today.

"That's not the point, okay? Why are you two getting sidetracked too?"

For the first time, the younger Peter felt truly exhausted.

His teammates were unreliable. His other self was catching up with a Spider-Woman. All the pressure had fallen onto him, and it felt like a mountain was sitting on his shoulders.

Crackle, crackle, crackle!

Electrical arcs kept flashing throughout the military factory, shifting back and forth between high and low voltage. This strange phenomenon made Peter, who had been catching up with Ultimate Gwen, look over carefully.

Ultimate Gwen said nothing and chose to help the younger Peter fight the enemies instead.

"Thank God! Thank you!"

With part of the pressure taken off him, the younger Peter felt much more relaxed.

"You're welcome. And don't get distracted during a fight."

Ultimate Gwen spoke decisively, then swept Taskmaster's legs out from under him with a low kick. The two strange pistols from before appeared in her hands, and she spun them with a flourish before repeatedly pulling the triggers.

At that moment, Peter jumped onto the roof of the military factory and narrowed his eyes, looking into the distance.

Very quickly, he saw a blue humanoid figure not far away.

Boom! Boom!

High in the sky, lightning flashed and thunder roared. Bolts of lightning, accompanied by white light, shot out wildly in every direction. The military factory in the suburbs was shrouded by that terrifying aura, and fierce winds howled through the area, sweeping madly across the factory grounds.

That figure was floating between two power towers at the military factory. Lightning shot out from both sides of his body, merging with the electricity provided by the two power towers as he greedily absorbed their power.

Boom!

Suddenly, a trace of blue lightning splashed out and struck the edge of one of the power towers. The terrifying lightning blasted up a large amount of soil. The power tower, which had already been forced to stop operating, was caught in the energy wave, and the nearby structures were reduced to charred ruins.

"It's actually Electro?"

Peter muttered to himself.

And from the look of this guy, he should be the one from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Since these villains had all come to this world from movie universes, did that mean the Spider-Men from those universes had come to this world too?

As Peter was thinking, Electro suddenly went berserk. The explosion of the power tower frightened the people inside the military factory. A large number of workers screamed and fled in every direction. Some even opened fire, but it had no effect at all.

The noisy voices and harmless attacks made Electro stop absorbing the lightning energy.

The lightning dispersed, and a Black man covered in sophisticated equipment slowly appeared.

Electro, Max Dillon.

Electro looked down at the few people in the military factory who were shooting at him, his eyes filled with deep mockery.

"So annoying."

Zzzzt...

His eyes narrowed slightly, and two bolts of lightning shot out, sweeping across the ground.

Boom!

Lightning blasted out, explosions erupted one after another, and everyone screamed as they fled wildly. Yet not a single person was injured by the explosions.

"Hahaha! Run, little ants! Hurry up and run!"

Electro laughed loudly. Lightning shot from his eyes from time to time as he toyed with the fleeing crowd.

At the highest point of the military factory, Peter looked at Electro in the sky with a grave expression. This Electro's brain had to have been kicked by a donkey. Otherwise, there was no way he would be this twisted.

"Bastard! Electro, you freaking shocked me!"

A hoarse, furious curse rang out. Peter looked down and saw that Taskmaster had somehow ended up lying stiffly on the ground. Arcs of electricity flowed across his body, and he kept twitching uncontrollably.

"Oh. Looking at it that way, you might be the only person injured in this fight."

Peter could not help saying as he watched Taskmaster's legs still kicking.

Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!

At that moment, the younger Peter left the battlefield to Ultimate Gwen, shot out webbing, and swung around to help the people inside the military factory evacuate.

Even after witnessing how terrifying Electro was, this little Spider still chose to charge into danger without hesitation, because there were people who needed his help.

Even though the lightning monster in front of him was terrifyingly powerful.

Unsurprisingly, the younger Peter's appearance attracted Electro's attention.

"Oh, this world's Spider-Man. A scrawny little chick..."

The corner of Electro's mouth rose into a sinister smile, and his emotions became even more violent.

"Good. I wonder how strong this guy really is. Let's test him and find out!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Electro spread his arms wide. Blue lightning surged all over his body, and his ten fingers controlled terrifying thunderbolts that rained down like a storm. The dense power of lightning erupted with endless light, filling the younger Peter's mind with an overwhelming sense of danger.

"Crap..."

The younger Peter cried out. In the open area, he had no way to use his webbing to swing away and dodge. He could only rely on his flexible body to weave through the gaps between the bolts of lightning.

Fortunately, his stealth suit helped a lot. Not only could it reduce part of the lightning damage, but it could also hide him well in the night.

The problem was that the lightning flashed bright as day, making his figure appear and disappear under the constant bursts of light.

Boom! Boom!

Explosions continued one after another beneath the night sky. Although the younger Peter could avoid the lightning strikes, he could not avoid the shockwaves from the explosions. Soon, he was blown away by a terrifying blast and slammed hard into the ground.

Zzzzt...

Electro, covered in blue electric currents, slowly floated down. A trace of curiosity appeared on his face as he controlled the electricity, turning it into chains that bound the younger Peter's limbs and suspended him in midair.

"Heh, Peter Parker. I'm very curious what this world's version of you looks like. Are you still that frail little college student?"

Electro sneered and reached toward the younger Peter's mask.

The younger Peter, who had just recovered from the explosion, saw this and struggled with all his strength, but it was useless. With no other choice, he could only shout, "Come on, can you stop watching and help me?!"

"Who's going to help you? That Spider-Woman down there? She can barely handle her own side right now. I'm afraid she can't spare any attention for you."

Electro mocked him.

"Hey, maybe he was talking about me."

Electro suddenly felt someone tap his shoulder. He subconsciously turned around, only to see a massive fist slam straight into his face, smashing him directly into the ground.

More than sixty tons of force instantly blasted a huge crater into the ground. Inside the crater, arcs of electricity flickered, looking strangely beautiful.

"Whew! I thought you were just going to keep watching!"

After breaking free from his restraints, the younger Peter let out a long breath and spoke.

"Now you finally understand how serious this is, right? Sometimes you have to pay for your own mistakes. This time, I can help you. But if we go back to our own world, who will help you then?"

"Your chubby friend? Your girlfriend? Or Aunt May?"

"If something goes wrong, you'll regret it for the rest of your life."
