Chapter 95 - Chapter 95

In the basement, everyone prepared their equipment and began getting ready to capture the multiversal arrivals.

Fortunately, Michelle and Ned were in charge of logistics. The two of them cleaned up the filthy, messy basement, first wiping down the lightbulbs until they were clean. Only then did the dim basement become a little brighter.

"Oh! Cool! Peter, you guys actually caught Spider-Man!"

"Huh? Wait! No, that's not right!"

Under the brighter light, Ned saw the three people inside the magical containers. The most eye-catching one was Otto Parker, who occupied the center position. Since his suit looked similar to one of the younger Peter's suits, Ned noticed him at first glance.

"Who are these two brats?"

Otto Parker, who was occupying the center position, asked.

"This is my girlfriend, MJ. This is my best friend, Ned."

The younger Peter answered like a little idiot. Whatever people asked, he answered.

"Hello. Nice suit!"

The overly friendly Ned also reached out and greeted him.

No wonder the two of them could become friends. They were both missing a few screws.

"This is Otto Parker. The green monster next to him is Doctor Connors, the Lizard. As for this one, he should be Doctor Octopus, Ot... Sorry, your name is too long. I didn't remember it."

The younger Peter introduced them one by one. But when he reached Doctor Octopus, he got stuck, because at the time, his thoughts had been all over the place, so he had not remembered the man's name at all.

"Otto Octavius."

"All right, stop paying attention to them. The most important thing right now is for you two to track the locations of the multiversal arrivals. Time isn't waiting for us."

Peter blew a thick layer of dust off a table in one breath, then wiped it again with a handkerchief before sitting on it.

"Got it, Peter! Oh, this is too weird. How about I call you Mr. Spider?"

"Whatever. A name is just a code name."

"Got it, Mr. Spider!"

Ned pulled a laptop out of his bag and sat down at a nearby table to get to work.

His computer seemed to have undergone a certain degree of modification, because it ran extremely fast.

Michelle frowned slightly. She was somewhat dissatisfied with how Peter had directly taken control of the situation. After all, they had only just met. Wasn't he being a little too familiar?

Fine. Apparently, all Peter Parkers were like this.

Her own boyfriend was exactly the same kind of guy. Honestly, sometimes it was pretty hard to deal with.

However, on the way here, the younger Peter had already told the two of them quite a lot about Peter. Although she had been suspicious at first, knowing that two of the three people imprisoned here had been captured by him made her acknowledge his ability.

She also knew how urgent the situation was, so she could only suppress the doubts in her heart and decide to keep an extra eye on him during their next interactions. After all, to the people of this world, Peter was the outsider.

After that, the four of them began taking action separately.

Since Peter knew very little about this world, after getting the Wi-Fi password from Doctor Strange, he connected his phone and began checking the news about this world.

From the news, he finally learned what the background of this world was.

The Avengers had defeated Thanos, but they had paid a terrible price for victory.

Iron Man's death, Natasha's death, and Captain America's old age...

The current Avengers were basically scattered. In name, they still existed, but in reality, they were almost gone.

So in a certain sense, this universe's Spider-Man had experienced even more than Peter had.

However, this universe's Peter also had a blank period. He had disappeared for several years, most likely because Thanos had snapped him into dust.

"Hey, guys! I think I found one!"

Ned suddenly shouted.

"There's a disturbance at a military research center on the outskirts of the city. Witnesses saw a monster flying into the sky, and another guy who looked kind of similar was causing trouble too."

Ned pulled up the photos that had been taken, and the other three gathered around.

One of them was the Green Goblin they had fought earlier, while the other was a guy wearing silver armor, a gray cloak, and a mask. He was also stepping on a glider and causing destruction everywhere.

That was not the Hobgoblin.

Peter recognized him. His alias was Taskmaster.

He was a super-criminal with a mysterious background, born in the Bronx, New York City.

His original name was said to be Tony Masters. He had the ability to physically copy any movement he saw anyone perform.

He also had an energy weapon that could freely change forms, allowing him to imitate things like Captain America's shield or Spider-Man's webbing. Clearly, right now, he was imitating the Green Goblin's glider.

Peter had no idea how those two guys had ended up together. They were clearly not even from the same series, but their cooperation had caused a massive terrorist attack. According to the report, hundreds of innocent civilians had already been killed in the explosions.

"This should be the Green Goblin we fought on the bridge during the day, but who exactly is the guy next to him? Do you know?"

The younger Peter looked at Peter, who was thinking nearby. After all, he knew very little about villains from the multiverse. The guy in front of him seemed to know far more than he did.

Peter nodded, then introduced him. "A villain called Taskmaster. His extremely powerful physical mimicry lets him copy anyone's movements. He can also disguise himself as other people. The most important thing is that absurd piece of gear he has. It can freely transform."

"There's actually technology like that? That's unbelievable. Even I kind of want to study that device."

Otto Parker's voice suddenly rang out. Even though he was a bird in a cage, he was still thinking about how if he could get a device like that, fighting would become much easier, since he would not need to keep switching equipment.

Mechanical arms or spider legs, one piece of gear could handle it all.

"You want it? I can get it for you. First, you have to agree to what I mentioned earlier."

Peter said with a smile.

Otto Parker fell silent again.

"I've thought it over, and I still find it unlikely."

Doctor Octopus Otto suddenly said something that sounded completely out of nowhere, causing everyone to look at him.

"Norman Osborn was an outstanding scientist and strategist. But that man was too greedy. If I came to this world, that's still understandable. But he's from the same universe as me, and he died long ago. I even attended his funeral!"

The Lizard beside him carefully cut in as well.

"In my world, Norman Osborn died from his family's hereditary disease, retroviral hyperplasia. He never became this so-called Green Goblin you mentioned. I did hear that his son later became some kind of strange thing, though. So he probably isn't from my world."

That was indeed the case. The two of them might not necessarily be from the same movie universe. Although both belonged to Sony's Spider-Man properties, one was from the original Spider-Man universe, while the other was from The Amazing Spider-Man universe. They could be considered people from two different universal dimensions.

"It should be a matter of time dimensions. The power of magic pulled all of you here from different points in time, so even someone who should have died a long time ago ended up in this world."

"But if that happens, the multiverse will probably create several more branches. In a certain sense, those should count as parallel worlds to your original one."

Peter was happy to answer Doctor Octopus Otto's question. This kind and gentle middle-aged man, whose consciousness had recovered somewhat after his chip was damaged, was simply someone Peter could not bring himself to dislike.

"All right, we can talk about everything else later. Right now, we should head out and deal with the trouble."

Peter and the younger Peter instantly reached the same decision. They put on their Spider suits, pulled on their masks, and headed upstairs. Before leaving, Peter did not forget to ask Doctor Strange to add a few more magical cages, because he had a feeling there would not be enough.

"Hey, why does this suit of yours look like a monkey?"

Peter could not help roasting the younger Peter after seeing him change into another suit. The craftsmanship of this suit was honestly too crude. It looked like the effect of wearing a suit inside out, and it did not look much different from a monkey.

"I have another nickname. Night Monkey."

"Oh. Terrible name."

Peter said while swinging on his webbing.

"Hey, man, don't you have any weird suits?"

The younger Peter was a little unconvinced. He personally thought this suit was pretty good.

"Of course I do. But I wouldn't wear those suits even if you killed me."

Thinking of the wrestler suit and the Last Stand suit collecting dust in the system storage, Peter felt that if he wore those suits into battle, people would laugh him to death.

Meanwhile, at night, at the military research center.

A figure wearing red, black, and silver, with a hood over her head, swung through the air on webbing. Using her agile movements, she constantly maneuvered around the two monsters standing on gliders.

While shooting webbing, she muttered to herself, "Where exactly is this place? It looks a little like New York, but it's not quite the same..."

"That strange magic circle..."

"Did I cross into another universe?"

"Heh, heh, heh. Getting distracted in battle, little bug? That's no different from asking to die!"

Taskmaster let out a terrifying laugh. The glider under his feet fired poisonous darts one after another, while the Green Goblin beside him took the chance to throw pumpkin bombs like a madman.

The hooded figure in three colors nimbly dodged their attacks and said, "Hey, you two. Honestly, you both seem pretty weak. Compared to the villains in my world, you're far behind."

"You sharp-tongued little girl. I'm going to rip you apart!"

The Green Goblin cursed viciously.

Hearing that, Taskmaster chuckled.

"Norman, don't let Spider-Woman get to you. She's just trying to provoke us."

As an experienced villain, he naturally knew this was a taunt, so he did not fall for it at all.

"Doesn't matter. She's already dead anyway."

The Green Goblin's tone was ice-cold.

He was determined to take Spider-Woman's head. And aside from Spider-Woman, the two Spider-Men from the bridge during the day also had to die by his own hand.

"If you want to kill the Ultimate Spider-Woman, it won't be that easy."

The beautiful figure calling herself the Ultimate Spider-Woman casually pulled out two specially made pistols and opened fire on the two of them.
