The war had crossed beyond human understanding.
No battlefield in history had ever looked like this.
The skies themselves remained torn apart permanently above Novaris while endless fractures spread through reality like cracks across broken glass. Entire sections of the wastelands outside Dominion no longer existed, erased completely by the sheer force of Kaien Veyr and the Entity clashing against one another.
Millions still fought below.
Dominion's armies struggled against endless manifestation hordes while artillery fire illuminated burning horizons endlessly. Giant corrupted beasts tore through defensive formations only to be brought down by Solar Guard divisions using the resonance armor Kaien had designed years ago.
Humanity fought with everything it had left.
But nobody could ignore the truth anymore.
The final war had become centered around two beings alone.
Kaien Veyr.
And the Entity.
Everything else existed around them like shadows beneath gods tearing the world apart.
The battlefield shook violently once again.
Boom.
A shockwave erupted high above the war as golden light and darkness collided against one another with enough force to distort the atmosphere itself. Soldiers below instinctively covered their ears as thunder rolled endlessly through shattered skies.
Yet they still couldn't properly see the battle.
No ordinary human could.
Kaien and the Entity moved far beyond normal perception now.
To most soldiers they appeared only as flickering streaks tearing across the heavens faster than the eye could process. One moment sunlight exploded somewhere above the battlefield. The next moment darkness swallowed entire sections of sky before another catastrophic collision shook the earth beneath everyone's feet.
Even advanced military systems struggled tracking them.
Cameras showed only blurred distortions.
Sensors overloaded continuously.
Resonance scans collapsed whenever the two came too close together.
The speed of their movements had surpassed human comprehension entirely.
Nyra stood atop Dominion's eastern command platform desperately trying to follow Kaien's movements through enhanced battlefield optics.
Even then—
she could barely keep up.
All she saw were fragments.
A golden flash piercing through the clouds.
A black distortion retaliating instantly afterward.
Entire airborne manifestation fleets exploding from unseen impacts.
Then another collision.
Then another.
The war itself trembled every single time they struck each other.
Lyss landed beside her after cutting down several corrupted soldiers below. Her breathing remained uneven while the battlefield reflected within her widened eyes.
"Can you see him?"
Nyra slowly lowered the optics afterward.
"…barely."
Another explosion thundered overhead immediately afterward.
The sky cracked apart visibly this time as Kaien and the Entity collided above the battlefield once more. Solar fire erupted across the heavens burning hundreds of flying manifestations into ash instantly while corrupted darkness spread afterward swallowing entire aerial squadrons whole.
The battlefield had become hell itself.
Far above the battlefield, Kaien drove Vijaya directly toward the Entity's head with enough force to split the sky itself.
The possessed Kael twisted unnaturally at impossible angles avoiding the strike before retaliating instantly.
Boom.
A fist of corrupted darkness smashed into Kaien's ribs hard enough to shatter the atmosphere around them.
Kaien coughed violently but countered immediately afterward.
His free hand distorted space itself before slamming directly into the Entity's chest. Reality folded inward violently around the impact point while cracks spread through the air itself like broken mirrors.
The Entity staggered backward.
Kaien followed immediately.
No hesitation.
No wasted movement.
Every strike between them carried absolute precision and overwhelming force.
Solar resonance blades erupted around Vijaya while Kaien attacked relentlessly. The Entity blocked one strike only for Kaien to twist space again and appear instantly behind him.
Another collision exploded across the skies.
Another shockwave flattened entire manifestation battalions below.
Neither stopped moving.
Not for a second.
The battle between them had reached a level where hesitation meant death.
Meanwhile the war below continued mercilessly.
Dominion forces pushed harder than ever before.
The Entity's army had finally started slowing.
Not stopping.
Not collapsing.
But slowing.
Kaien's direct assaults against the Entity itself were destabilizing the manifestation network controlling the corrupted forces. Entire hordes moved erratically now while several giant manifestations collapsed outright from resonance backlash spreading through their connection to the Entity.
Humanity noticed immediately.
"Push forward!"
"Drive them back!"
"DON'T LET THEM RECOVER!"
Dominion soldiers surged across the battlefield with renewed fury. Solar Guard divisions advanced through collapsing corruption lines while aerial fleets bombarded manifestation clusters endlessly from above.
For the first time since the final war began—
it looked like humanity might actually survive.
Orion stood inside the central command sector watching battlefield projections update rapidly.
"The western manifestation lines are retreating."
Another officer looked stunned beside him.
"Sector fourteen just reclaimed their defensive wall."
"Southern aerial support reports reduced corruption density."
Humanity's morale exploded upward across the battlefield.
Because Kaien Veyr was winning.
Or at least—
that was how it looked.
High above the battlefield Kaien smashed the Entity through another fractured section of sky before launching Vijaya again.
Golden sunlight erupted endlessly around him now while the crimson mark between his eyes burned brighter than ever before. His body radiated overwhelming heat capable of vaporizing nearby manifestations instantly.
The Entity blocked another strike barely this time.
Kaien noticed.
It was weakening.
For the first time since the war began—
the Entity actually looked pressured.
Kaien twisted space itself around Vijaya afterward.
The spear disappeared momentarily before reappearing directly through the Entity's side.
Darkness erupted violently outward.
The Entity staggered backward again while Kael's corrupted body visibly destabilized beneath the strain.
Kaien immediately followed up.
Agneyastra ignited the skies themselves.
Vayavyastra tore apart corruption storms across entire sectors.
Varunastra drowned manifestation hordes beneath resonance oceans.
The battlefield erupted beneath Kaien's overwhelming assault.
Dominion forces saw it clearly.
Hope returned stronger than ever.
Then suddenly—
everything changed.
The pressure across the battlefield multiplied instantly.
Every soldier froze.
The air itself became heavy.
Kaien sensed it immediately too.
The Entity slowly lifted its head afterward while darkness spread endlessly around its body.
Its expression had changed.
The calm arrogance vanished.
What replaced it looked far more dangerous.
Cold fury.
"You've surpassed every version before you…"
The Entity's voice echoed unnaturally across broken skies.
"…but you are still incomplete."
Kaien tightened his grip around Vijaya immediately.
Then the Entity moved.
And suddenly—
Kaien started losing.
Boom.
The Entity appeared directly in front of him before smashing a fist into Kaien's stomach hard enough to nearly fold his body around the impact.
Kaien disappeared instantly from the force.
Boom.
Before he could recover another strike hit him across the battlefield.
Boom.
Darkness slammed into him from above sending him crashing through multiple Dominion carriers overhead. Massive warships exploded around him while burning debris rained across the battlefield below.
Boom.
Kaien recovered midair only for the Entity to grab him by the throat and drive him directly into the ruined wastelands beneath them.
The earth split apart.
Entire kilometers collapsed inward from the impact alone.
Humanity stopped cheering.
Stopped advancing.
Stopped breathing.
Because they were watching the impossible happen.
Kaien Veyr—
the man who stood like a god across the battlefield moments ago—
was getting destroyed.
Nyra's face paled immediately afterward.
"No…"
Kaien rose slowly from another crater while blood stained the shattered armor covering his body. One arm barely moved properly anymore while corruption wounds spread visibly across his skin from prolonged exposure to the Entity's power.
Still—
he stood again.
The Entity immediately appeared behind him.
Boom.
Kaien's body bent unnaturally from the strike before being hurled across the battlefield again.
This time he didn't recover instantly.
Dominion's morale shattered visibly afterward.
Because until now—
Kaien had always stood back up stronger.
Now though…
he looked exhausted.
Human.
Breakable.
The Entity descended slowly afterward while darkness spread beneath its feet endlessly.
Kaien forced himself upward again despite his body barely responding properly anymore. Vijaya trembled slightly within his grip while the solar resonance surrounding him flickered unstably for the first time since the war began.
Still—
he raised the spear again.
The Entity stared toward him silently for several moments afterward.
Then suddenly it moved again.
Kaien barely blocked the next strike before being driven backward violently through another section of battlefield. Manifestations and Dominion soldiers alike were erased instantly from the shockwave surrounding the collision.
The Entity didn't stop.
It attacked relentlessly.
No pauses.
No openings.
No hesitation.
Kaien was being overwhelmed completely now.
Dominion forces nearly pushed the Entity's army back entirely during those moments.
The manifestations were weakening.
Corruption structures were collapsing.
Entire sectors of battlefield had been reclaimed.
It almost looked like the war was turning in humanity's favor.
Then everyone saw Kaien getting thrashed across the battlefield.
And hope began dying again.
Soldiers watched silently as their strongest warrior crashed through ruined wastelands again and again unable to properly recover anymore.
Nyra tried stepping forward instinctively.
Orion stopped her immediately.
"You'll die before reaching him!"
"But he—!"
Another collision interrupted her.
Kaien's body crashed across shattered earth once more before finally stopping near the center of the battlefield.
This time—
he struggled to stand.
The Entity slowly approached him afterward through endless darkness while the war itself seemed to quiet around them.
Even the manifestations slowed their assault instinctively watching their master crush humanity's final hope.
Kaien forced himself upward again afterward.
Breathing heavily.
Body broken.
Golden light flickering unstably around him.
Still holding Vijaya.
Still refusing to fall.
The Entity looked almost amused by that persistence now.
"You truly refuse to die."
Kaien didn't answer immediately.
He simply tightened his grip around Vijaya once more.
The Entity stared toward him for another brief moment afterward.
Then darkness gathered slowly into its hand.
Condensing.
Sharpening.
Solidifying.
Until a long black spear formed completely from corruption itself.
The battlefield fell silent.
Completely silent.
Kaien looked toward the approaching Entity while struggling to remain standing.
The monster stopped directly before him afterward.
Then slowly—
it drove the black spear toward Kaien Veyr's chest.
"This is the end, Suryaputra."
