Aria's POV
Being pregnant during a war was not something I'd ever planned for.
The morning sickness started on day three. I'd wake up, run to the bathroom, and spend twenty minutes throwing up while Lucian held my hair back and made soothing noises.
"This is glamorous," I said after one particularly bad episode.
"Very glamorous. You look beautiful."
The pack doctor had given me strict orders. No fighting. No shifting. No stress. Which was impossible given that we were literally at war with humans who wanted us extinct.
"You need to delegate more," Leah said, watching me review defensive positions for the hundredth time. "Let Derek and the other alphas handle the strategy. You focus on growing that baby."
"I can't just sit around doing nothing."
"You're not doing nothing. You're literally creating life. That's pretty important."
"You know what I mean."
