Aria's POV
Over the past few days, Damon has shown me more videos and more photos of Lucian with that same woman.
He also showed me photos of Mateo at pack meetings where he was apparently telling everyone I was unstable and unfit to lead.
Each piece of "evidence" chipped away at my certainty. Made me question everything I thought I knew.
"They don't deserve you," He had said softly. "They never did. But I do. I see you for who you really are. Strong, fierce, perfect."
"I know you're scared," he had said. "Scared of trusting me, scared of what we could have together. But you don't have to be scared anymore. I'll take care of you. I'll never hurt you the way they have."
I snapped back to the present and realised that we were now surrounded by Damon's guards before we even got to the front gate.
Lucian set me down gently, putting himself between me and them. Mateo flanked my other side.
