Chapter 80 - Chapter 81 ....

Chapter 81 . Let's go all the way! Let's just steal his cow!

  Inside Simon's pickup truck.

The three old men were utterly dejected.

Simon drove the car, opening his mouth as if to speak, but ultimately kept silent.

"We can't just go back like this, Rozier will kill us," Leon said in a deep voice.

Smith tapped the back seat with his cane in annoyance: "Then what can we do? This city is said to be small, but besides Rozier, who can find two people in a place with over 20,000 people?"

Leon looked out the window in silence for a moment, then hesitated before finally saying,

"Perhaps we can ask someone for help?"

  Simon couldn't help but interject.

  "Ask who?"

  "Ask our old buddies."

  ...

In the northwestern suburbs of Abros, in a small town with a population of only a few hundred.

Lynn and Professor Fawkes were peering out from behind a fence into a farm.

The golden wheat was ready for harvest, and on one side of the wheat field stood a cowshed with about twenty cows inside.

The house next to the farm was quite nicely built, with two dogs chained up in front. A black man could be vaguely seen cleaning cow dung near the cowshed.

  "Is this the place?"

"Yes, this is it! Didn't you see the sign over there? That fat old man named Simon is so narcissistic, he puts his picture everywhere, as if he's afraid people won't recognize him," Lynn clicked his tongue.

"What do we do next? Force our way in?"

Lynn thought for a moment, then turned to ask.

"Professor, can you handle that black man?"

  Professor Fawkes nodded.

"I can, even without magic, wizards are still much stronger than Muggles, but what kind of 'handle' do you mean?"

Lynn looked puzzled. "Of course, we just knock him out or tie him up, rendering him incapacitated. How else could we handle it?"

"Of course, I have no problem with that." Fawkes's smile was a little strange, but Lynn didn't see it.

  "Then let's get started!"

Lynn and Professor Fawkes separated under the fence.

Lynn waited under the fence, while Professor Fawkes climbed over and quietly approached the cowshed.

There were some gaps between the wooden planks of the cowshed, and Lynn could only see figures moving inside, but couldn't see what was happening.

Professor Fawkes silently entered the cowshed. The black man who was cleaning cow dung seemed to sense something. He turned around, and after being stunned for a moment when he saw Professor Fawkes, he raised his pitchfork angrily and questioned him.

"Who are you? Why are you trespassing on a private farm without permission!"

Professor Fawkes was completely unfazed, the same listless demeanor he had when he was with Lynn.

  He smiled and winked.

"Sorry, you need to sleep for a while."

With that, he snapped his fingers, and the black man collapsed to the ground, fast asleep.

He took off his glasses, wiped them lightly with the corner of his shirt, then put them back on and walked out of the cowshed, beckoning to Lynn.

Lynn saw his signal and immediately leaped over the fence like a nimble monkey.

"Professor, you're incredibly efficient!" he exclaimed.

Professor Fawkes brushed non-existent dust off his hands.

"One whack, and it'll keep him asleep for half a day."

"Then let's start searching. That fat old man is obviously not a decent person; he must keep a diary, maybe he wrote something about the curse in it."

They rushed into the small hut next to the farm and searched it thoroughly.

  Soon, Lynn made a discovery.

"A copy of the Daily Prophet."

He beckoned to Professor Fawkes, pulling out the three-year-old newspaper from under the fat old man's bed.

"The fact that they have a way to obtain the Daily Prophet means they can access information about the wizarding world, so it's not surprising that they know I'm a Hogwarts professor," Professor Fawkes said, squinting.

A newspaper was only a small gain; they searched the room thoroughly again, but found nothing.

  Lynn muttered.

"Strange, that old man doesn't keep a diary."

Their trip was almost fruitless, which made Lynn somewhat discouraged.

He stared blankly at the cows in the barn outside the window.

"Professor, what charges did they bring on us when you called 999?" Lynn suddenly asked.

Professor Fawkes hesitated, seemingly guessing what Lynn was up to.

"Uh... they said we stole his cow."

Lynn gritted his teeth, "They've pinned this on us like this, it's like we're being dragged down with a muddy mess, so we might as well go all the way..."

  Ten minutes later.

The cowshed door was opened, and the cows were forcibly driven out.

Lynn and Professor Fawkes each rode on the back of a cow, bellowing like they were riding horses, leading the herd out of the farm.

The two guard dogs tied to the gate could only bark helplessly behind the herd.

  ...

Completely unaware that his home had been ransacked, Simon was driving, taking Leon and Smith to visit their former colleagues' homes one by one.

"How many houses is this?" Smith asked.

Leon counted from the roster in his hand.

"Thirty-two families, and this is the last one. How many people can we mobilize in total?"

  Smith counted on his fingers.

"Today is a day off. Each family should be able to send at least five people, so thirty-three families would be about 165 people. Abros is a small city with only 20,000 people. A little over a hundred people are related to many people in this city. Finding those two rats will be more than enough."

  Simon said worriedly.

"I'm afraid they've run away and already left Abros."

  Leon shook his head decisively.

"Impossible. If I were them, and suddenly lost my magic, I would definitely try to find it back immediately. If they are well-informed, they probably already know this is our territory. So, the only way for them to find out how to regain their magic is to contact us."

Smith was stunned after hearing his analysis.

"Yeah! They need to regain their magic, they'll definitely need to contact us!"

"But we're clearly trying to capture them with ill intentions, how can they contact us?"

Leon scratched his head. "What would I do if I were in that situation?"

Their eyes darted out the car window, and soon they both spotted the distinctive billboard.

The next moment, they exchanged a glance and shouted the answer in unison.

  "Steal our house!"

Simon was completely bewildered by their cryptic words.

  "What are you talking about?"

Smith, exasperated, kicked the idiot from behind with his intact left leg.

"Idiot! Drive to your house! Your house is going to be destroyed!"

Half an hour later, Simon returned to his ranch, a scene of utter devastation.

He staggered out of the car, collapsed to his knees with a thud, and wailed like a cuckoo crying blood.

  "My God!!!"

  ...

  ...…

(Because I couldn't fit the author's words here, I'm putting them at the end of this chapter)

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding the recent plot...

but did you really not understand what I was writing? For the greater good, Rosier, the Saints, Grindelwald!

Although the First Dark Lord imprisoned himself in Nurmengard, his former power certainly won't just vanish like smoke. The group that once thought wizards were supreme has now become no different from their former enemies, the Muggles. They've lost their magic, lived in Muggle society for over forty years until old age, they've built their own lives, friends, families, and farms, they've gradually been assimilated by the Muggles without even realizing it. When they regain their magic, what kind of wizards will they become? What kind of help will they give Lynn in the future? Isn't that something to look forward to?

And Lynn's identity, Professor Fawkes's somewhat abnormal behavior now, aren't these things also worth looking forward to? Why keep focusing on the disappearance of magic?

No one is born without setbacks. Without his current experiences, would his future success have fallen from the sky?

I didn't force the arrangement when Lynn's magic disappeared for the sake of plot development; it perfectly aligned with their situation and choices at the time.

Kira is just a stubborn house-elf, completely obedient to his master's orders, while Lynn wouldn't listen to his orders at all.

It was precisely because he wouldn't listen that he was tricked into Abros, leading to the events and encounters that followed.
