Chapter 93 - Marriottnet Inception

When Jace woke up, it was already afternoon.

After freshening up, he made himself a hearty meal and sat comfortably at the dining table, eating it.

The dining table was on the larger side, big enough for approximately ten people, and right now it was only him, eating alone at one end of the table.

The bungalow was eerily silent, with the only sound being that of his cutlery clattering against the plate.

By now, Jace had completely taken control of Edward Lane—the psychopath's identity—and with it his property, the bungalow, and an apartment in the North Boroughs.

Through the decryption abilities of the Prometheus ring, he had also decrypted the passwords of Edward's safes and his account in the Backlund Bank.

So his current liquid wealth was about 20,000 Loen pounds. Yep! The psychopath was filthy rich, and now Jace was filthy rich too.

That wealth excluded the bungalow, the apartment, and some other stakes in a few companies.

The bungalow was a big one. Jace felt quite weird about living in it, as he had never before lived in such a big and luxurious place, and he was the only one here at that.

Of course, the bungalow wasn't as big as Catherine's manor, but it was still bigger than most.

While eating, Jace couldn't help but feel a bit bored. He had decided to take a break from acting, yes, but what was he supposed to do now?

Feeling a bit lost, he completed his breakfast—or lunch—and sat on the couch leisurely while sipping red wine, pondering what to do next.

"Oh, that Aron Bleak!" Jace remembered.

Aron Bleak was another Seer that Jace had encountered a few months back.

'He must be a Magician now.' Back then, Aron was a Sequence 8 Clown preparing for his advancement to Sequence 7.

Jace wondered if he had survived, as the advancement to Sequence 7 was harder than the sequences before it.

'Well, there's only one way to know.' With that thought, he set the glass of wine down and got up.

The basement was the place where Jace kept things related to mysticism and Beyonder objects.

Yes, it was the same basement where he had fought and killed Edward the psychopath alongside Natalie.

But that was irrelevant.

He looked around; most of the stuff, like different kinds of chemicals and ingredients related to mysticism, were still here. Jace had kept them as they were because they might be useful to him.

Of course, there were the psychopath's trophies of various kinds, kept in glass jars and whatnot, but Jace had already thrown them away even before moving here.

Thinking about it, he felt a wave of disgust cross over him.

He walked around and found a cardboard box that he had kept here before. He rummaged through the box and finally found what he was looking for.

It was a folded piece of paper—the paper in which he had kept some strands of hair belonging to Aron Bleak. He had taken them with him when he broke into Aron's house to check things out.

He sat down at a study table nearby and started performing a dream divination with the stands of hair as his medium, he dream divined about the location of where Aron was.

.

.

.

A minute later, he woke up from the dream.

Aron Bleak was in the East Boroughs, living in a cheap area that Jace was familiar with.

So Jace got dressed up properly, assumed the face of a mundane middle-aged man, and teleported to a dark alley in the East Boroughs with the help of the Polymath Ring.

In the darkness, Jace, who was now wearing a different face, materialized on the ground. He looked around while removing the ring, to confirming his location.

In a moment, he held his cane forward and muttered, "Aron Bleak," seven times in Ancient Hermes.

The cane moved, and Jace followed its direction, this was Drowsing Rod divination.

Soon he caught up with Aron, and he later stalked him for half a day.

In the evening, he sat in a diner eating dinner. Of course, Aron Bleak—the guy with average looks and sharp eyes—was there as well. He was sitting at the table behind him, eating his own dinner.

Aron was seemingly searching for people with bounties on theirs heads and today he had succeeded in found two of them.

Jace, meanwhile sighed. He was a bit disappointed.

Aron was a Magician whose potion was only about half or more digested according to Jace's estimation.

It had been over three months since this guy had advanced to Sequence 7, yet only half of his potion was digested, despite him knowing the acting method.

Jace shook his head inwardly. 'No, his advancement speed is fine. It's me who's too fast and impatient.'

That was true. Jace was pushing himself too much and too fast; he really had to slow down.

Aron, on the other hand, had been taking it slow and cautious as one should, unlike Jace.

But Jace was still in a bit of a dilemma. The question—what was he going to do with Aron?—remained in his mind.

His first thought was to kill him. But the guy was not his enemy and had done nothing worng to him or any other people for that matter, so he could not in good conscience kill him.

Besides, the guy's origin was shrouded in mystery. Aron had become a Beyonder with the help of a black book that he kept with him.

In that book were up to Sequence 5 potion formulas of the Seer pathway, among other knowledge like rituals, history, things about other Beyonders, and such, basically it was a guide to beacome a sequence 5 beyonder while navigating the beyonder world.

Jace wanted to find the origin of the book, but he hadn't pursued it yet because he was still a little weak. He decided he would look into the matter when he was a Sequence 5. For now, he merely indulged himself with thoughts.

The second thing he thought about doing with Aron was to make him a marionette when jace became a Sequence 5.

But again, that was useless, as Aron would be at most a Sequence 6 when Jace became a Marionettist, so he would only have a marionette with the same but weaker powers than himself.

What he was curious about was: how would it be if he were to make a Marionettist into his marionette!

Meaning that he would have three marionettes, one of which was a Marionettist who in turn had three more marionettes! So in total he would have 6 marrionetts. This was a marionette inception!

Of course, this was given the fact that both the Marionettist and the marionette-Marionettist were both fully digested Marionettists.

Jace nodded inwardly. 'Hmm, that is indeed a Marionette Inception.'

He shook away the thoughts of his bizarre imagination, as it was something unlikely to happen.

The third thought he had was to go to Aron while taking an older man's face that was slightly similar to Aron's and say, "Aron, I am your father. I was the one who sent you the black book."

He could totally see himself pulling this off, as Jace himself knew the contents of the book since he had read it himself. Besides, he knew many things about the Beyonder world. After doing all that, he could take Aron as his apprentice and a pawn.

But then again, it all seemed a bit cruel and tiring to orchestrate, and he was currently on a break. So, he stopped thinking too much and focused on eating his dinner.
