Jason followed the strange creature through the alien landscape.
The ground beneath his feet was cracked and blackened, glowing with veins of molten fire that pulsed like a heartbeat. The sky above was a churning mass of crimson and black, lit by flashes of lightning that never seemed to strike. The air was thick with ash and smoke, burning his throat with every breath—but his system had already adapted. He could breathe. He could see. He could move.
But what struck him as odd was the monsters.
They did not attack him.
