"So it was a deal with the world government? The Sea Train for his freedom and they only gave him 10 years to build such a thing? I mean for some people it would take their entire lifetime to even come up with the idea for a sea train and then another to build it, but they want master Tom to build it in 10? Wow."
Franky nodded with a sense of achievement, for an achievement that wasn't even his as he heard Law's words. He himself felt the same when he heard about it from his Master and seeing him work hard towards it was in itself a great sense of pride.
"So this is the final Blue Print for the Ship? It looks good, seem like you guys were able to fit in most of the essentials and make the ship strong at the same time." said Idris as he and Lucien looked at the ship blueprint that was presented by Iceburg.
"Lucien, why dont't you reconsider my idea for the booster? It'll be amazing, I can fit it easily and it will help you escape the marines better when you get in trouble." said Franky as he turned his head towards Lucien and walked right upto him.
Lucien turned to him with a wry smile before placing his hand on Frank's head and pushing him away and said, "We don't have enough money for your toys yet Frank. Not this time, let's try it later when you become better."
It seemed like Frank had crazy ideas going through his mind at every moment of his life, even in his dreams he dreamed of creating a ship that would fly without the use of any devil fruit and came to him the next day to try them on their ship as he thinks it would work.
Just like now, how he wanted to build rocket boosters at the back of their ship, to launch it forward at high speeds. Lucien just found it absurd that he wanted to test all these ideas on their ship and his reason why on theirs? Because this was the only time he could buy supplies using their money to try things out instead of going to scrap island to find stuff for his BF or their full form according to him, Battle Frankies. His ultimate goal with them? To build a fleet and conquer the world as a one man army.
Iceburg studied the blueprint laid out across the table one more time before looking up.
"Alright then, if you are satisfied with this design, we'll begin our work right away. Three weeks if everything goes to schedule, four if we run into problems with the timber sourcing. Even though we are not using Treasure Tree Adam wood, we are using the second best thing and so we should be able to get the material in time." He rolled the blueprint back up and set it to the side. "Tom's Workers does not rush. You will get a ship that holds."
Hearing him Lucien had slight flashbacks to when he heard something awfully similar in Lake 4, regarding material procurement and how it could be delayed, what happened after that gave him a slight shudder, he could only look at Iceburg and say with utmost seriousness.
"Please finish it within 3 and not extend it out. We have bad luck around us right now."
Iceberg gave him a weird look before nodding.
"No Problem, 3 weeks it is then. Please enjoy your time in Water 7 until then."
Just as Lucien turned around, he turned back to Iceburg and said.
"Don't let Franky near the ship unsupervised."
Iceburg looked at him. Then at Franky.
"That is already our policy."
Franky opened his mouth. Iceburg picked up the blueprint and walked away.
One Week Later
"Law, go out and explore the city a little. You have been holed up with the books Crocus gave for the entire week. You can read them even after we sail the seas, just go out for a bit, the sun is also slowly setting, go up to the docks, the view is amazing," suggested Idris as he looked into Law's room, seeing him on the ground with opened books around him.
Law looked up from the page he was on, then at the books around him, then back at Idris.
"I'm in the middle of something."
"You have been in the middle of something for seven days."
Law looked at the page again. Idris waited in the doorway, as he knew Law was someone who went right back to what he was doing if left alone. Seeing as how Idris was just standing there, Law closed the book.
The docks were quieter than the canal markets, the evening foot traffic thinning out as the vendors packed up for the day. The sun was low, and the water had gone from blue to a slight orange. Law walked along the lower dock with his hands in his pockets and looked at the sea.
It was a nice view. He could see why Idris mentioned it.
He was about to turn back when he heard it. A low sound. It sounded like a small whimper. He stopped and looked left. A Yagara Bull was drifting against the dock pilings about four meters away as it allowed the slow currents to do most of the work for it, seemingly having no energy to move on its own.
He crouched down at the edge of the dock.
The animal did not react to him the way the Water 7 Yagaras usually did. The ones near the market district were alert and a little pushy, used to people, always half expecting food. This one just looked at him with large amber eyes and breathed slowly through its nose.
Law slowly extended his hands towards it, touching its long neck and enveloping its entirety with a transparent bubble before slowly closing his eyes, examining the Yagara, he didn't know much about them, and so just tried to feel it's heartbeat that was slow, dangerously slow.
