Chapter 25 - CHAPTER 25: Princess treatment

Valerie's appearance wasn't just a mere return to the Hansen's mansion she lit it up.

From the moment she arrived, the house felt different. Brighter. Softer. More alive.

Valerie didn't expect it not even a little. The entire house turned into her personal kingdom.

And everyone… everyone became her loyal royal attendants.

Uncle Hansen/ handsome uncle (the Overprotective King)

Hansen tried and tried to act like he wasn't completely smitten by the little girl.

But Valerie had a way of melting even his stone-like CEO expression.

The first morning she woke up in the mansion, she opened her eyes to see Hansen standing with crossed arms, pretending to supervise.

"I had breakfast prepared for you," he said flatly.

"But I like pancakes with strawberry toppings," she replied shyly.

"I already told the chef," he shrugged, even though he very obviously hadn't.

(He made Lucas rush to the kitchen five minutes earlier with a scribbled note: MAKE PANCAKES. EXTRA STRAWBERRIES. OR ELSE.)

When she walked downstairs, Hansen even bent slightly, offering his hand:

"Your handsome uncle will escort you."

Valerie giggled and placed her tiny hand in his. To her, he was strict but the warm kind of strict. The type that made you feel adored, even through his cold voice.

Uncle Lucas/annoying uncle (the Clownish Court Jester)

Lucas took his role very seriously.

"Princess Valerie, your chariot awaits!" he announced dramatically as he rolled a pink hoverboard he had bought that same morning.

"Lucas, she does NOT need that" Hansen warned.

But Valerie already gasped.

"I LOVE IT!"

She hopped on, and Lucas guided her around the hall, screaming like they were on a roller coaster.

"Wooooo! Princess express!"

Hansen face-palmed.

Ciara cackled.

Valerie clapped.

And Lucas? He bowed like it was a standing ovation at a royal gala.

Auntie Ciara/ auntie slim (the Glamour Queen)

Ciara took one look at Valerie's hair and declared;

"This will not do. A princess must look like one." Within twenty minutes, Valerie was sitting in the beauty room with colorful clips, ribbons, and sparkles scattered around her.

Ciara braided her hair with tiny pink beads, humming.

"You're officially my mini-me."

When she finished, she spun Valerie around and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"There. Perfect. Just like a star."

Valerie hugged her tightly.

"Auntie Slim… I missed you so much."

Ciara wiped a tear she pretended wasn't there.

"Me too, my girl."

Sunshine( the Gentle Big Sister Princess)

Valerie adored Sunshine with her whole heart. She called her:

"My role model."

"My heroine."

"My big sister."

Sunshine treated her no less lovingly.

Every afternoon, they sat in the garden together. Sunshine taught her how to sketch flowers, how to design dresses, and how to walk with confidence.

"Head up, shoulders back," Sunshine guided gently.

"Move like the world belongs to you."

Valerie giggled.

"But that's how YOU walk, Sunshine."

Sunshine smiled softly.

"That's why I'm teaching you. You're Gray's blood. You're meant to shine."

And Valerie giggled her little princess giggle.

All four of them, Hansen, Lucas, Ciara, and Sunshine made a ritual every night.

They made a huge bowl of ice cream, piled up pillows, and fought (literally) over who sat next to Valerie.

Lucas: "I sat by her yesterday. My turn again!"

Hansen: "No. She can't sleep near you. You snore."

Ciara: "Move, both of you. She's sitting with her auntie."

Valerie, laughing as she settled in the middle:

"You can ALL sit next to me."

And somehow… they did.

It was ridiculous, chaos and loud.

But Valerie had never felt so loved before.

And Sunshine, watching Valerie sandwiched between her over-the-top uncles and glamorous auntie, felt her heart swell.

Valerie had a way of skipping through the hallways as if joy followed behind her like a loyal puppy.

The maids adored her instantly, she complimented their hairstyles, helped them fold towels (badly), and somehow convinced Kelvin her new tutor to teach her how to balance a tray like a real butler.

Lucas spoiled her like she was made of diamonds, buying her new dresses, shoes, and even a sparkly microphone when she mentioned she liked singing.

Ciara treated her like a miniature princess, brushing her hair, painting her nails, and teaching her runway poses until both of them collapsed on the carpet laughing.

And Hansen who rarely allowed himself to soften found himself smiling more, relaxing more… even laughing under his breath whenever Valerie tugged on his hands and dragged him around the mansion like her personal giant.

Sunshine watched it all with warmth blooming in her chest. Valerie brought something precious into the mansion,

a gentle warmth none of them knew they were missing. She filled rooms with laughter,

filled the silence with life, and filled their hearts with a comfort that felt like home.

Valerie who had been running around the mansion all afternoon was exhausted, but when she saw Hansen step out of his home office, she stopped right in front of him hugging a stuffed bunny to her chest.

"Uncle Hansen…" she shyly mentioned his name for the first time.

"Yes, princess?" he replied with a surprised face lowering himself to her height.

She shifted her feet, cheeks puffed with hesitation.

Then she leaned in and whispered loud enough for the whole hallway to hear:

"Is Sunshine going to be my real auntie soon?"

Hansen froze.

His usual stern expression melted instantly, replaced with a slow, helpless smile, a smile he only ever wore around two people. Sunshine… and this tiny troublemaker.

He rested one large hand gently on her head.

"Why do you ask?" he teased.

"Because…" Valerie's eyes sparkled. "You look at her the way princes look at princesses in the movies. And she looks at you like you're her hero. And....And....you always hold her waist even when you don't have to!" Hansen choked on air.

Meanwhile, Ciara who was passing by with a tray nearly dropped the entire thing from laughing.

Valerie stepped closer, tugging his sleeve.

"So… is she going to be my auntie Sunshine? For real?"

Hansen took a breath, glancing up the stairs where Sunshine was standing, pretending she wasn't listening, cheeks pink.

Then he ruffled Valerie's hair lovingly.

"Yes," he said softly.

"One day very soon… she'll be your real auntie. I promise."

Valerie gasped like she just won the lottery.

"I KNEW IT!!!" she squealed.

Then she bolted up the stairs screaming, "Auntie Sunshine! He said yes! He said yes!! You're gonna marry my uncle!!!"

Sunshine's legs wobbled as Hansen covered his face, half-embarrassed, half-amused. Warmth spread through the entire mansion again.

And Hansen whispered under his breath, watching Sunshine blush.

"Sooner than you think… princess."

"Thank you… our dear sister Daryl, for bringing back our Valerie. She has brought so much happiness into our lives," Ciara said aloud, her voice thick with emotion.

"And we promise to give her the best life possible," both Lucas and Hansen added in unison, their gazes soft and protective.

Valerie looked up, a thoughtful frown on her face.

"You know… my mom's ghost sent me to HAG Company. She said I belong there. But I never understood it… until now."

Ciara reached out, brushing a stray tear from her cheek.

"Yes… Mrs. Cruz told us about it recently," she said gently, her own eyes glistening.

"We'll make sure you always feel that you belong here, Valerie. You're family… and family means everything."

Valerie's lips curled into a bright, radiant smile.

The Hansen's mansion, once cold and quiet, now felt like a place where memories could grow. A place where love echoed off the walls. A place where a little girl's presence turned luxury into family. And for the first time in a long while, the mansion felt complete filled with laughter, love, and hope.

The Gray family wasn't just reunited.

It was whole again. Happy again and home again.
