Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: A Dead End! (Ancient Azure Martial Emperor) + Shibuya

22:44

Returning to the site of the incident, Mirai hovered above the outermost barrier.

After destroying Jujutsu High, he didn't invade the Tomb of the Star Corridor to meet Tengen.

It was simply to lure Okkotsu away.

As for Kinji Hakari leaving on his own—that was just good luck on his part.

Mirai had originally planned to come back and crush him directly.

Since he left early, it didn't matter.

As long as no one interfered with his final objective…

The fate of Jujutsu High, the main cast, even the lives of the entire nation—he didn't care.

But Kenjaku… Sukuna… must die.

Cursed energy surged into his eyes.

In his right eye, a complex crimson pattern slowly rotated and shifted.

The red transformed into milky white—then into a strange deep violet, faintly glowing.

A red Mangekyō in the left eye.

A purple Rinnegan in the right.

It made Mirai's already cold appearance seem even more otherworldly.

Nearly ten years—

After absorbing an immense amount of negative emotions, he had only managed to convert one eye.

Mirai felt neither disappointed nor dissatisfied.

After all, there were no side effects—only requiring cursed energy to activate.

No matter the cost, it was acceptable.

His indifferent gaze swept across the darkness below.

Compared to the Mangekyō, the Rinnegan's ocular power was superior.

His vision pierced through the dense barrier, through steel buildings, all the way several levels underground.

Okkotsu and Hakari had indeed left.

On the fifth basement level, Kenjaku, Uraume, and the Mei Mei siblings were already gone.

On the second basement level, Choso—who had fled the battlefield first—was currently beating Yuji Itadori.

This pair—different mothers, same father… or was it the other way around…

This complicated pair of brothers—Mirai didn't interfere.

Nanako and Mimiko, holding one of Sukuna's fingers…

Were not in immediate danger.

On the fourth basement level, Mahito wandered, slaughtering humans for amusement while searching for his natural enemy.

And from another entrance, heading toward the fifth basement level—

Todo from Kyoto Prefectural Jujutsu High, along with a first-year student beside him…

Piercing through layer after layer, Mirai took in everything within Shibuya at a glance.

"Now then… next."

Slowly descending from the sky into the barrier, his figure vanished in an instant.

Basement Level 3

Seeing the smile on White Zetsu's face—one that didn't seem fake—Nanami let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Fushiguro collapsed onto the ground, gasping heavily.

Maintaining that prolonged Domain clash had nearly drained all his cursed energy. Sweat mixed with streaks of blood.

Nanami tore off the tie around his neck and tightly bound it around the nearly torn wound on his upper arm.

Maki and Kugisaki had only suffered minor injuries—the earlier special-grade curse hadn't targeted them directly.

After some quick bandaging, the two girls temporarily became the team's main fighting force.

"Hey, mama's boy."

Feigning calm, Kugisaki walked up and punched White Zetsu.

Seeing that he neither dodged nor got angry, she placed one hand on her hip, returning to her usual bossy demeanor.

"Why did your boss seal Gojo Satoru, huh?"

"Your boss is already basically invincible. Even if Jujutsu High says you're wanted, they can't really do anything to you."

"So whether that white-haired idiot is around or not—what difference does it make?"

For Kugisaki—who grew up in a remote countryside—

She didn't have a powerful technique, nor a prestigious family background.

She learned only ordinary techniques from her grandmother—and didn't even consider herself particularly strong.

At first, she just wanted to escape that village full of "crazy people" and see the bustling city.

She looked forward to a chance encounter with Saori in Tokyo, and to reuniting with Fumi after leaving the countryside.

Kugisaki didn't join Jujutsu High because of noble ideals.

Nor did she see herself as a "hero of justice."

Compared to Itadori, she was more like Fushiguro—choosing who to save.

Back then, White Zetsu had risked his life to save her.

Even after learning the truth about his body-switching, after spending so much time together, she had already come to see him as a companion.

Just like she once told Itadori—

She didn't want too many people occupying her heart.

But Itadori… and White Zetsu…

Were the kind who barged in carrying their own chairs.

Right now, no one she cared about had died yet.

She believed things could still be salvaged.

Deep down, she didn't want to fight White Zetsu.

She came here risking her life—because someone she cared about included that idiot teacher, Gojo Satoru.

As for the innocent civilians…

Kugisaki pressed her lips tightly, silently apologizing in her heart.

Leaning against a pillar, Nanami checked his wounds while recovering cursed energy.

Seemingly reading Kugisaki's thoughts from her expression, he shook his head slightly.

Even if Mirai were willing to release Gojo—

"That man wouldn't let it go."

"He'd only think about revenge… about how to kill Zenin Mirai."

Nanami muttered inwardly.

A dead end.

White Zetsu slung an arm around Kugisaki's shoulder, shaking his head.

"Thirteen, it's not that your big bro won't give you face."

"That kid Mirai's stubborn as a herd of bulls!"

Patting her shoulder, he spoke earnestly:

"Take my advice—don't keep going."

"You'll die."

Negotiation… failed.

"Hmph!"

Shaking off his hand, Kugisaki's expression darkened.

"Leave. I don't want to exorcise you here."

She turned away, biting her lip tightly.

"White Zetsu… just go," Maki said quietly, leaning against the wall, head lowered.

Their destination was the fifth basement level—the Prison Realm in Kenjaku's hands.

White Zetsu would never betray Mirai to help rescue Gojo.

And they had no intention of running away from Japan with their tails tucked.

White Zetsu froze for a moment—then suddenly turned his head sharply behind him!

"So you're dead too… Dagon."

Within the barrier, Dagon's presence had completely vanished.

Yet traces of his cursed energy still lingered on the wounds of Nanami and the others.

The air grew scorching—temperature rapidly rising!

Nanami and Fushiguro scrambled to their feet.

Their briefly relaxed nerves snapped tight again.

Stronger than the previous curse—

That was Nanami's assessment of Jogo.

"Let's meet again in a hundred years… on the wastelands…"

Jogo stared at them, his single bloodshot eye blazing with murderous intent.

White Zetsu's presence surprised him—but he was still confident he could kill everyone here.

Nanami and Fushiguro glanced at White Zetsu's grim expression, their hearts growing heavier.

If even he wasn't confident—

Then they could only wait for death.

A volcano head?

The entire underground had long been within White Zetsu's awareness. Jogo's appearance alone wasn't enough to change his expression.

What annoyed him… was losing another chance to show off.

"I was planning to personally teach you a lesson," White Zetsu said with a shake of his head, sounding regretful.

"But looks like you don't have the guts to make a move."

"Good!"

Compared to Zenin Mirai's cold indifference, White Zetsu's chatter was far more infuriating.

Hellfire-like flames boiled in Jogo's palm as he bent forward, ready to kill and vent his rage!

"Ra—"

"Get lost."

A cold, emotionless voice sounded from behind Jogo.

In that instant—

The fury in Jogo's eye turned into sheer terror.

It was as if he saw…

Hanami… and Dagon… beckoning to him from the other side.
