Chapter 280 - 280

Chapter 280: Dōjutsu's Cells

Long after Uchiha Madara obtained Hashirama cells, it wasn't until just before his death that he finally awakened the Rinnegan.

The exact reason for this remains unknown.

Naruto speculated that perhaps a special insight into life and death was required.

After all, the word 'Rinne' itself contains the essence of life and death.

To borrow a line from Nasus: 'The cycle of life and death continues.'

This also explains why Sasuke has not awakened the Rinnegan until now.

He can only wait for the intervention of his 'cheap old dad,' the Sage of Six Paths.

In the original work, he didn't just have a Rinnegan, but one with six tomoe, which was a real show of power.

Although he only had one, it didn't fall behind Uchiha Madara's pair.

This proves that the six tomoe version is indeed more powerful.

Naruto's current situation is somewhat similar to Sasuke's.

However, the 'cheat code' from the Sage of Six Paths has been replaced by the system.

According to normal laws, even with Indra's cells, awakening the Rinnegan would be an extremely difficult task for him.

The missing piece can only be compensated for by the system.

Naruto used the Flying Thunder God Technique to appear in Sasuke's current mansion, but it was empty.

He suddenly remembered that the guy should be researching his new Dōjutsu; he just didn't know if it was successful yet.

During this time, he had been busy with the affairs of the Tianming Organization and hadn't had time to deal with Sasuke.

The Flying Thunder God Technique was used once again.

Naruto appeared at the Satomi Hill Villa.

Opening the door, he saw Sasuke standing in the courtyard with his eyes closed.

His face was as expressionless as ever.

He looked around but didn't notice Yakumo Kurama, nor was there anyone else present.

Did she trust Sasuke that much?

But it was also a bit strange.

Naruto rubbed his chin.

The reasoning made sense, yet having not a single person around didn't fit the etiquette of the KuramaClan.

"Gyuki, do you feel like something is wrong?"

Kurama, who was holding yu-gi-oh! cards from the Ninja World edition, suddenly stopped his movements.

"What problem?"

Little Gyuki curled his lip. "Are you trying to back out of your debt again?"

"Bullshit!"

Kurama shouted angrily upon hearing this, "I have always been a man of my word, how could I back out on a debt?!"

"..."

Little Gyuki rolled his eyes almost imperceptibly.

Do you even believe what you're saying?

It was unknown what Kurama had gone through, but he was no longer the irritable Tailed Beast who always shouted about killing.

He had become insidious and cunning, prone to bluffing and deceiving.

Even when playing cards, he would ramble on to distract others.

"There is a problem."

Kurama's large eyes widened as he shouted, "Naruto, you're in a genjutsu."

"Hmm?"

Naruto was slightly startled.

Genjutsu?

He instinctively looked at Sasuke.

Could it be that this guy's research on his Dōjutsuwas already successful?

Had he quietly cast a Ninjutsu without him noticing?

Thinking of this, he activated his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Although the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan was half a step stronger, it still hadn't reached the level of the Rinnegan.

Naruto himself had nearly a 13% Dōjutsu Powerbonus.

Therefore, he quickly noticed a slight fluctuation in Dōjutsu Power.

At the same time, the previously closed-eyed Sasuke opened his eyes; without a word, wild lightning erupted from his hand and spread instantly.

The Chakra was so powerful that the sound of the Chidori made one's eardrums ache; there was only the sound of thunder within the vicinity, and nothing else.

Naruto raised an eyebrow.

A duel within a genjutsu?

Tsk, it seems Sasuke can't wait until he's eighteen.

He formed hand signs, and three lines of fire emerged from his mouth.

The thread-like flames expanded rapidly, covered in countless scales.

Amidst the scorching heat, three fire dragons roared as they flew out.

Sasuke's eyes narrowed slightly.

The Ninjutsu Naruto used was the Uchiha Clan's Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique.

It was also the prerequisite Ninjutsu for his Lightning Release: Kirin, as it could generate updrafts to create thunderclouds.

He had only ever seen Uchiha Itachi perform it.

Although a stray thought flashed through his mind, Sasuke's movements were not affected in the slightest.

Chidori enveloped his fist.

With a sudden swing, he sliced straight through the fire dragon blocking his path.

With momentum undiminished, he surged toward Naruto with a sharpness that seemed capable of piercing the world.

But he soon crashed into a Wind Wall.

A look of bewilderment appeared on Sasuke's face.

The Wind Wall, which he thought would be fragile, firmly blocked his Chidori.

Lightning flashed and spread out in all directions.

He glanced at the still-standing Wind Wall, twisted his wrist, and a brilliant sword beam vibrated outward.

The energy soared.

The Wind Wall suddenly collapsed.

Naruto wasn't surprised.

Yasuo's Wind Wall had a time limit to begin with, and Sasuke had increased his output.

He narrowed his eyes and switched to the AshuraCharacter Card.

A pale blue mark immediately appeared on his forehead.

Sasuke, holding the sword of the thunder god, couldn't help but tense up at the sight.

He thought of the Ashura Ninjutsu Naruto had used before, and the scarlet color in his eyes spread rapidly.

"Yomotsu Hirasaka!"

An invisible soul shockwave escaped outward.

Naruto's body jolted.

Even with the Dōjutsu Power reinforcement of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, he couldn't completely ignore this Dōjutsu.

Sasuke felt a surge of joy in his heart.

It finally worked for once.

His figure dashed at high speed, the long sword in his hand moving incessantly, thrusting out one strike after another.

As a return for Naruto using the Uchiha Fire Release, he was using the sword techniques from the Eight Extremes Fist.

He was quite the grudge-holder.

Naruto's vision was filled with flying sword light.

But he didn't panic at all.

A formation as bright as a hexagram appeared beneath his feet, followed by an unstoppable flow of wind erupting upward.

Sasuke did not become airborne because of it.

Naruto was somewhat surprised.

But the Fudo Myoo Formation was not over yet.

A golden layer appeared on his body as he entered a Super Armor state.

Sasuke's sword light seemed to encounter the most solid of substances.

Even though the entire courtyard was shaking, Naruto did not budge.

Rotating Flame Beads approached him.

A light flashed in Sasuke's eyes.

The Flame Beads, which exploded after rotating to their limit, caused no damage at all.

"Conversion of Reality and Illusion?"

Naruto finally began to take things seriously.

This guy had quietly finished researching his new Dōjutsu.

His body dissipated and reappeared not far away, putting some distance between them.

From the surface, Sasuke's new Dōjutsu was very similar to Yakumo Kurama's.

It silently altered your perception.

Things that originally existed in reality could become false at his whim—that is, a genjutsu.

Using a scientific explanation, it was like Schrödinger's cat.

Whether you were in a genjutsu or reality could only be decided by Sasuke.

No wonder even Kurama was a beat too slow.

"What is this Dōjutsu called?"

Naruto asked unhurriedly.

"I plan to call it Nightmare,"

Sasuke said, stopping his attack.

"It's not that great."

Naruto brought up an idea he had before, "Why not call it 'Mirror Flower, Water Moon'?"

"A flower in a mirror, a moon in the water?"

Although Sasuke didn't have much of an aesthetic sense, he had basic comprehension.

It was clear that 'Mirror Flower, Water Moon' was more refined than 'Nightmare' and better suited the form of the Dōjutsu.

"Then it shall be called 'Mirror Flower, Water Moon'."

Sasuke didn't dwell on it too much and settled on the name.

His personality was such that he didn't care for superficial things.

"Let's stop here for today."

Naruto raised his hand to stop him from speaking.

If he didn't say it, Sasuke would surely continue fighting.

"Why?"

If it were anyone else, Sasuke would mostly assume they were afraid.

But a single new Dōjutsu was far from enough to reach that point with Naruto.

"In a week, the Akatsuki Organization will attack. If you want to fight, you can fight as much as you want then."

Naruto shrugged and said, "For now, save your energy."

Because of the involvement of Yakushi Kabuto and Orochimaru, he could already imagine the situation in a week.

They would likely encounter a whole host of powerful experts.

He didn't know if Sasuke could hold out.

But at least for now, he was happy.

"I came today because I have something I need your help with."

Naruto hesitated for a moment and asked, "Sasuke, how do I usually treat you?"

"...?"

Sasuke immediately became alert.

Strange!

Too strange!

Although Naruto had asked for his help before, it was never like this.

Starting with 'how do I usually treat you'—what was he planning?

He didn't even want to think about it.

"Average,"

Sasuke replied flatly.

"???"

Naruto put on a look of being deeply hurt and said, "I usually treat you like my own younger brother, yet you actually say such a thing. It truly breaks my heart."

"..."

Sasuke's mouth twitched speechlessly.

Speak with a clear conscience.

Trying to take advantage of me again? 'Younger brother' my foot!

For a moment, even the usually indifferent Sasukefelt a strong urge to roast him.

"Speak like a human,"

Sasuke said coldly.

"I want something from you."

Naruto scratched his head and said, "Specifically, your cells."

"Cells?"

Sasuke was stunned for a moment.

What on earth?

A look of confusion appeared on his face.

"What do you want them for?"

"To do an experiment."

Naruto made up a random reason.

Sasuke frowned slightly, and after a few seconds, he asked: "How much?"

How much was a good question.

The system didn't say.

It probably wouldn't need too many.

Naruto thought for a moment and said, "Let's draw one vial first. I'll go get Sakura."

Professional matters like this couldn't be handled sloppily.

It would be terrible if he accidentally broke Sasuke.

Not only would Uchiha Itachi come to fight him to the death, but the Sage of Six Paths might also jump out.

And given Sakura's feelings for Sasuke, she would definitely do her utmost not to hurt him.

Besides, one vial probably wouldn't cause any problems.

Although Sasuke couldn't compare to a physical freak like Senju Hashirama, he was already far beyond most Jonin.

His body was in top shape.

Naruto turned around and brought Sakura.

After an explanation, her eyes lit up, and she was also very envious.

She also wanted to take something from Sasuke's body.

But unfortunately, she had no opportunity.

"Will there be any side effects?"

Naruto asked after she readily agreed.

"No side effects, it's just equivalent to a minor injury,"

Sakura waved her hand and said, "As a Ninja, losing some cells is a very normal thing."

Hearing this, Naruto remembered that the Hashirama cells Uchiha Madara obtained came from a piece of flesh he bit off Senju Hashirama.

He breathed a sigh of relief.

After all, what he wanted were cells, not essence blood.

This slight impact was far less than the drain Sasuke would face in the future when fighting two beautiful girls.

Naruto left the villa with a vial of Sasuke's cells.

Before leaving, he told the two of them to pack their bags to avoid heavy losses in the battle a week later.

He was mainly telling Sasuke.

This guy always ignored external affairs and likely hadn't even looked at the notice sent by Tsunade.

Naruto didn't return to the Hyuga Clan but went to the Treehouse instead.

He took out the Rinnegan card.

"System, what should I do now?"

There was no answer.

But the Sasuke cells in his right hand automatically flew out of the glass vial and merged into the card.

Accompanied by a dazzling light, the originally golden card became even more brilliant and eye-catching.

It looked as if it were plated in rainbow colors.

Naruto looked at the description of the item cardagain; the word 'Unactivated' was gone.

With a thought,

The card disappeared.

A scarlet hue suddenly surfaced in his eyes, and the Mangekyo Sharingan began to operate automatically.

There was a searing, burning Pain.

Naruto frowned slightly.

But it was still within a bearable range.

At least it wasn't as painful as when The Fool's Shadow Clone was being hunted by Uchiha Itachi.

A few seconds later, his surroundings suddenly shook.

As if time had stopped, the wind, the chirping of insects, and the flow of water were all in a static state.

But things quickly returned to normal.

An unimaginable Dōjutsu Power soared into the sky.

The sky looked as if a roof had been torn off; gases formed turbulence, creating a majestic and chaotic ocean.

Naruto's expression changed slightly.

He hadn't expected such a large commotion.

Once he could control it, he immediately restrained his Dōjutsu Power.

Even though it had only been a few seconds, Sasuke had already rushed over.

As an Uchiha, he was most sensitive to Dōjutsu Power.

Others might just think the sky over here was filled with oppressive dark clouds.

But he was different; he could clearly understand how terrifying this Dōjutsu Power was.

He had only ever seen it in one person.

Nagato.

Out of this concern, he rushed over instantly.

"???"

Sasuke stared in shock at Naruto's eyes.

If his eyes weren't blind, that should be the Rinnegan.

But he felt like he really might be blind; otherwise, how could he see the Rinnegan appearing on Naruto?

This wasn't scientific, and it wasn't very Ninja-like either.

Sasuke rubbed his eyes and questioned: "Are you Naruto, or Pain?"

He suspected Naruto was being controlled by the Rinnegan.

After all, this guess was more reasonable.

And the eyes of people or Summoned Beasts controlled by Nagato did indeed turn into the Rinnegan.

"Naruto, of course,"

Naruto blinked and said, "Can't you recognize me just because I have more Rinnegan? That's really too bad."

"Then why do you have the Rinnegan?"

"I just upgraded."

Naruto's eyes darted around as he said, "I've told you before that the Mangekyo Sharingan can evolve into the Rinnegan."

"You didn't."

Sasuke shook his head.

"I didn't?"

Naruto couldn't remember if he had said it or not, so he gave a light cough and said, "Well, now you know."

"How did you do it?"

Sasuke quickly stopped dwelling on that question.

"Using your cells,"

Naruto explained, "This is the special connection between Ashura and Indra."

He had told Sasuke about the reincarnations before, so there was no need to say more.

"Do you mean that if I use your cells, I can also awaken the Rinnegan?"

Sasuke's eyes lit up, and his gaze swept over Naruto, seemingly thinking about how to make a move.

"Theoretically, that's the case,"

Naruto said in a deep voice, "But as the supreme Dōjutsu, the Rinnegan can't be achieved just by adding one plus one; it also requires a special insight."

"Insight?"

Sasuke's excitement dissipated slightly.

But it wasn't surprising.

If it were that simple, it wouldn't be called the Rinnegan.

"Correct."

Naruto hesitated for a moment and didn't voice his own guess, "Perhaps everyone's insight is different."

"Can I try?"

Sasuke looked at him expectantly.

"..."

What else could Naruto say?

What goes around comes around.

So he called Sakura over again to draw a vial of his cells.

"Hey, what kind of experiment are you two doing?"

Sakura looked confused.

Why were they exchanging cells?

Dammit!

I want to do it too!
