Faelyn woke to early morning light filtering through the dwelling entrance.
Her head still ached but less intensely than yesterday.
She could think clearly again.
Moved carefully, testing her body.
Weak but functional.
Better than she'd been.
Both chiefs were already awake, sitting up and watching her.
"How do you feel?" Roshan asked immediately.
"Better. Not great, but better."
"Can you travel?"
She nodded slowly, testing whether the movement made her dizzy.
It did, but only slightly.
"Yes. I can make it."
Nyx didn't look convinced.
"If you need to rest another day—"
"No. We need to go today."
"Before Korin changes his mind and sends more warriors."
"Or decides to come himself," Roshan muttered darkly.
Faelyn packed her few belongings.
Moving slowly but steadily.
Both chiefs hovered nearby, offering help she didn't quite need but appreciated anyway.
"I'm okay," she reassured them. "Really."
Neither looked entirely convinced.
But they didn't push.
