"Roshan," Faelyn breathed, voice low and sultry in a way he'd never heard before. "Do you want to mate with me?"
Roshan's mind went completely blank.
Then exploded into panic.

His heart was hammering so hard he thought it might break through his ribs.
"Faelyn—"
"Because I want to." Her fingers tightened on his tunic, pulling him closer. "I want you to touch me. Want you to make this ache go away. Want—"
"No." The word came out strangled. Desperate. "You don't. You don't know what you're saying."
Her glowing eyes searched his face, and there was something in them.
Something hungry.
Something desperate.
Something that made every instinct in his body scream to close the distance and give her exactly what she was asking for.
But he couldn't.
He wouldn't.
Not like this.
