Chapter 46 - The Plan

Small, but incredibly effective as a means of creating a 'blast.'

With a bit of fine-tuning, the explosion from the fire clone was made more effective, transforming into a concentrated beam of blazing fire.

However, Aladdin had only attempted this spell with water and air because fire was too destructive to be practised within the Empire, and he didn't have the time to practice out in the desert without making proper arrangements.

This was his first time executing the spell with fire as the primary element.

So Aladdin was unable to limit the range of the attack to a specific target.

In order for this plan to work, he had to break the one code he had promised himself, to never confront someone more powerful than him, who could potentially kill him, head-on, when he could fight from afar.

And isolate her as well.

Neither was easy to execute.

He had expended a considerable amount of magical energy to execute the spell, so he had only used the magical energy stored inside Black Legacy during his attacks.

By making Nasira believe that he was only a threat as long as he could get close to her, and due to her overconfident nature, he had managed to perfectly accomplish his plan.

However, even then, Aladdin knew that this wasn't enough to kill her.

He would've been glad if it were enough.

Aladdin swung his blade forward.

FWOOOOSH!! CRACCKLEE-BOOM!

An arc of fire and lightning shot out from it, sweeping through the undead monsters around him. They ignited in flames, with countless arcs of lightning buzzing around them before being incinerated to ashes.

The magical energy within the sword had depleted.

Aladdin channelled magical energy into his blade and instantly activated one of its abilities.

SLAASH!

The sword shifted within space, and Aladdin vanished with it.

The moment he appeared, his blade quickly found its way to Nasira's back.

At that moment, Nasira was gathering herself. Her dress had patches of burnt and torn areas, including her hair, and her arms bled as she slowly rose to her feet.

"I've been tricked," Nasira spat, standing upright.

She stared at the deep, darkened fissure in the ground and the destroyed magic circle, which had now expanded, further depleting its effectiveness.

"I'll kill him!! I'll kill him!!" Nasira no longer cared about getting answers from Aladdin. She would rather capture the genie, imprison it, and have it extract the answers for her.

Just then, a surge of mana erupted from behind her.

Nasira froze, her eyes widening with shock and surprise.

A spiky chain covered in magical energy wrapped around her body, holding her in place.

Nasira attempted to teleport but realised that she couldn't.

She swiftly understood that the space had been sealed.

Suddenly, she spotted grains of golden sand floating around her.

Fwoossh!! Craccklee-Boom!!

Golden fire wrapped in crackling blue lightning erupted from the chains and enveloped her.

"ARRGGGHHh!!" Nasira could neither teleport nor properly defend against the elements while in her vulnerable state.

Even then, she managed to hold onto her life.

"I'm not done yet," Aladdin said.

"How did you do that again?" He stretched his hand toward her with a familiar mocking tone.

Instantly, a huge amount of dark energy gathered in his palm.

"Impossible."

Sensing the surge of energy behind her, Nasira's expression shifted into shock and fear.

BANGG!! BOOMM!!

The beam of dark energy struck the back of Nasira's head, sending her plunging into the ground. The back of Nasira's hair was burned away.

Aladdin relentlessly unleashed blasts of dark energy at her.

While the chains continued holding her in place, the dark energy beams slammed Nasira deeper into the ground, widening the charred crater.

Initially, the dark energy beams carried either far too much or far too little power, but as Aladdin continued to practice, he perfected them to the extent that he could control their intensity.

Aladdin raised his hand to the sky, and a surge of magical energy poured out from him, gathering above. The dark clouds slowly began rumbling with thunder and lightning.

As Aladdin brought his hand down, an arc of lightning shot from the clouds and struck Nasira.

KRAAA-KRAAA-BOOOOM!!

"Arrgghh!!" Nasira groaned loudly in pain.

The scarred alleyway was bathed in the light of the lightning strike before it vanished along with the lightning.

After that single strike, Aladdin dispelled the spell. He didn't have the enormous magical reserves to continuously generate lightning and thunder from the skies like Nasira. Besides, he was already nearing his limit and needed to end the battle quickly.

With concentrated arcs of lightning scattering along the chained blade, Aladdin pulled it back, dragging Nasira up with it.

He pressed down on the handle of the blade with his right hand and grabbed Nasira's head with both hands. Realising that he couldn't penetrate her enhanced clothes, he had only one option…

To go for the head.

Aladdin's hands transformed into molten magma, causing the air around them to sizzle as he pressed deeper into her skin.

Despite the overwhelming, continuous barrage of attacks, Nasira managed to compose herself and stared at him in hatred and rage. She attempted to speak, but Aladdin held tightly onto her face, locking her jaws in place, as he tried to burn her skull to ashes.

Her hair ignited in flames, turning what remained from his previous attack into ash. Cracks began appearing on her skin as the magma tore through her defences and seeped into her body.

Witnessing this, Aladdin opened his mouth, and a torrent of raging flames burst forth, engulfing Nasira's entire body.

FWOOOOSH!!!

"AAAHHH!!" Nasira's screams were like those of a banshee seeking rest.

They tore through the air, creating a wave of atmospheric pressure that pushed the surrounding wreckage in the alley away, along with Aladdin.

Aladdin's lips sealed shut as he was temporarily disoriented. His ears rang and bled. A headache pounded against his skull like a hammer. But he held on to Nasira's face, remembering that Nasira was still in his grasp.

He gathered the last of his magical reserves and parted his lips once more.

VROOOOOMMM-FWOOOOSH!!!

This time, a roaring beam of golden flame burst from his mouth and slammed directly into her face.

Nasira attempted to teleport once more but realised that every time she tried, an electric shock interrupted her, instantly disrupting the flow of her magical energy.

She realised that the chained blade wasn't only meant to hold her in place but also to disrupt her energy flow. While this wouldn't have been a problem for her to handle under normal circumstances, she was currently being overwhelmed by Aladdin's relentless barrage of attacks.

Even enchantments had a limit to how much they could endure under such barrages of countless spells before they began to deteriorate.

Slowly, her skin peeled away, giving way to flesh that melted along with all five orifices. Her skull gradually revealed itself before blackening from the relentless bombardment of attacks.

As her vision began to darken, Nasira stared at Aladdin one last time, burning his face into her mind.

Where had such a skilled young sorcerer come from, and why hadn't she noticed him until now? How had he mastered her spells and perfected them within a few minutes?

Though she sensed that it lacked something the moment it struck her, it was still her spell.

How could she die like this without avenging her brother?

So many questions raced through Nasira's mind, but the last resonated deeply within her heart. Even at this moment, she refused to believe Aladdin's words.

But if it were true, didn't that mean that if she were to die at this moment, her brother wasn't on the other side?

If only Nasira knew that Aladdin planned on eliminating her soul, preventing her from going to the other side as well.

The fire slowly reduced in intensity and dispersed.

Aladdin closed his mouth and released his grip on the sword on the ground.

He kicked it up into his hand. Black Legacy instantly reverted to its blade form as Aladdin tightly gripped its handle.

He swung his sword forward.

SHHK!!

Aladdin's blade cleaved through Nasira's neck, severing her head from the rest of her body.

Nasira didn't scream because she could not. Only charred bones and melted, ashen flesh remained.

At that moment, Nasira regretted delaying the chance to eliminate Aladdin the moment they met. Even now, she had neither had the opportunity to utilise any of the spells in her repertoire.

But Nasira still didn't think that it was her fault. How could she have known that the Prince of Ababwa was a monster in human skin?

"…I'll… be… back…" Nasira utilised the last remaining energy she could gather and forced the words through her broken cords as her head flew through the air and landed on the ground.

"Genie!" Aladdin screamed as he lost control of his body and collapsed from exhaustion. Before his body could touch the ground, he was caught by a blue being with a lower body resembling that of a wisp.
