This is boring.
Jack who lost the training duel was sitting in his room at the desk with a stack of papers in front of him.
Victor told him he had to write ten essays on why he lost the duel against him, and not only that they all needed different reasons written in them.
Jack was already on the fourth essay, he had written a total of eight thousand words total.
I get why I lost already, what other reasons do I have for losing? I have no more reasons to write about, I'm stuck.
Should I focus on a single reason per essay? The good old usage of elongating things that any student from first grade to graduation used!
Jack looked at the blank paper and exhaled.
But then I'd be cheating myself of progress, this might be useful for school but not for life and death, one missing thing will get me killed in the warped spaces, or real life.
I'll go ask Miss Teacher for help, Victor never said that I can't do this, and he probably intended for this.
Jack began calling The Twin(T2) as Miss Teacher since he can't just call her Miss Twin it felt disrespectful even if she accepted it, he did try to find out her real name but she always avoided the subject for some reason, Victor also avoided calling her by her real name.
This whole matter was strange, but Jack just assumed that it was due to the trauma that Victor told him and Aldric about, maybe the name brought bad memories.
This also explained why she was so good at dealing with his panic attacks that happened due to lack of real psychological sleep, though they did get better due to her.
…
In front of Miss Teacher's room Jack knocked on the door.
Jack was holding the stack of finished essays.
The door opened revealing a one of the lady's maids, she was older and was without a doubt higher ranked as a maid.
-I apologize, the young miss is currently busy.
Jack looked at her and asked.
-When will she be done?
When he spoke the older maid was tapped on her back by another younger one and she whispered to her ear.
The older maid open the door more while making way.
-Please follow me.
Inside the room Jack saw Miss Teacher in a bathrobe while she had her hair brushed, face covered in some paste, her fingernails polished and a whole other things.
I guess personal maintenance for the pretty doesn't change despite the world, though only I don't think the common woman will be able to get such products in the first place..
This time Jack didn't need to speak first, T2 spoke first and much more naturally than before.
-Do you need help?
Jack responded.
-Yes, I was asked to write ten essays about why I lost but I don't know what else to write.
She looked at the stack of papers and spoke.
-Are those the essays?
Jack spoke
-Yes.
She waited a few seconds before speaking.
-I'll read them right now then.
Hearing this one of the maids moved to pick the papers so as to hold them for her young miss.
But to her surprise the papers floated on their own in lines, first it moved up then straight over to an empty table near T2 then they dropped.
After that a single sheet of paper from above moved up in front of her, it was floppy before each of the corners moved to make the sheet flat, the corners moved as if they were weakly attracted to something.
The maids were slightly surprised and couldn't help but stare at the magic, but they kept their professionalism and kept working, only sometimes starring at the floating sheets of papers that kept changing for the next sheet.
Jack was starring at this from the side his lips were slightly curled up.
Telekinesis! I also want to do this!
I'll ask her how she did it later when she is done.
Eventually she read all the papers and finally spoke.
-You wrote about what you did, but you never wrote about your opponent.
-I'll give you some tips about what do write about..
-Victor.
A graphite pen floated up in a similar manner to the paper in her hand, she held it in her hand very carefully as to not mess the with the polish as she wrote a few sentences before having the essays and the paper float back to Jack in a constant speed.
Jack spoke.
-Thank you.
She responded immediately.
-Good luck.
