Chapter 40 - The Spirit Within

In the foyer, Queen Yaga ran up the grand staircase. Fear conquered her heart and sweat dampened her forehead. She did not dare look behind her. Her babas drifted downwards from the ceiling in a slow slumber. The closer they were to the ground, the more they seemed like strobing lights. It became a blur in her rush. She stepped before a door and opened it, but screamed at what was on the other side. Persica's lax eye took up the doorframe, and blinked at Yaga.

"Where are you running, my plump wisp?" Persica's voice boomed all around.

Yaga turned sharply, but the colors of the foyer melted together into a swirl. That swirl spun the ghost queen dizzy. She collided with the banister and tumbled off. She landed softly on Persica's tongue. It cradled Yaga like a warm hammock. It pressed against her squeezable hips, squishy breasts, and cute cheeks. It wrapped all around the ghost queen, and Yaga's world shifted.

The colors moved like soundwaves, emotions clouded her vision, and she tasted Persica's fumigated substances. Visions came and went. Some were the memories long suppressed. Others were recent machinations to help escape the undead fate.

Cheers and spotlights breathed life into Yaga. She performed for her people, and caught the attention of a man with a green cap, moustache, and overalls. They danced and partied, and lived a life better than most. They gave each other time and love.

Boos and heartache stole the light from her eyes. The enemy within found her heart and turned it stagnant. She waited in a weightless abyss as the love of her life called and cried for her.

Laughter and dim lights defined what she was. A ghost. An echo of her former self. Could she feel anything? Could she dream of anything? Ouija gave her purpose once more, but at what cost? Were either of them the same people?

Ethereal flames set her memories and feelings ablaze. The worlds she experienced were fogging before her eyes. The haze encroached. A lady's sweet breath brushed her neck, and Yaga fell back for an embrace.

Yaga's body was being pulled and stretched from the outside and inside. She slipped down a smooth slide in an endless pit. Images of babas flashed by; their faces were replaced with various characters of times old. They cackled and popped into hundreds of microscopic babas. These baba bubbles rose up and disappeared. The slide ended and Yaga splashed into a bathtub. Beneath the surface, in the endless expanse of water, Yaga felt weightless. Like the first time she became conscious after dying.

"You're going to be okay," Persica's voice soothed.

"That can't ever be..." freedom, to be a superstar, and friends came to mind. They were caged behind streaks of denial. She begged against the cage walls "...true."

Something spun Yaga in the water, until she faced downwards. Her vision catapulted up. She saw her body hanging before Persica. The fires of the princess and the followers of the queen danced in their orbit. The flames had little tendril-like arms that they used to hold the babas' little hands. Yaga's energetic beats played in an eerily slow rhythm in the background. Persica and Yaga hovered close until they embraced hands and bodies. They swirled in an impromptu dance. Their hands enjoyed each other's company. Their forms fused and unfused at different spots. Four legs became two, arms disappeared into hips, and their faces melded. A volt of pleasure stunned Yaga as Persica entered into her.

The princess's fingers and mouth traced the underside of Yaga's skin. She kissed Yaga's lips from inside, and her tongue choked the queen's throat. Yaga could have sworn multiple pairs of hands squeezed her. Persica's upper body breached Yaga's stomach like a dolphin, and she arched down in between Yaga's legs. Each point of contact shot fireworks off inside her. Their breathing parted the waters, brought life to the colors, and they tumbled down into the vast emptiness below.

They carried on for hours upon hours. Days upon days.

Minnie entered into the foyer the same way she dragged Asterion out. A funky smell lingered in the air, and smoke filled a good portion of the room. Minnie recognized the smell from all the times Persica lit up her substances. Minnie peered below to the first floor and saw all the babas unconscious and strewn about. In the center was a nude Yaga. She lay sprawled in the lap of Persica's fire form, who gently rubbed the ghost queen's cleavage while smoking. Minnie hurried down the stairs, but when she reached the bottom, she tiptoed past the babas.

Persica acknowledged Minnie, and asked, "You have returned? Where is the gentleman bull?"

"He's back to normal. He wanted me to come check up on you. He's fighting Frainky," Minnie kept her eyes peeled for any more ghosts.

"Who is Frainky?"

"What is Frainky is a better question."

"How is Frainky is always considerate."

"She's weird," Minnie finally answered.

Persica emptied her lung capacity. Her eyes drifted down to Yaga, and showed pity, "I figured as much. There are too many tortured souls in this place."

"You pacified the ghosts?" Minnie checked on Yaga. The queen slumbered, nuzzled up against Persica's bosom.

Persica petted the loopy queen, "I stole a page from Gamer's book. Yaga and I became well acquainted. Ghosts can make themselves incorporeal, and thus I relied on my drugs to affect her. Once she became sedated, she was far more pleasant. Lots of negative emotions in this one, mayhaps due to this person she calls Ouija. We ironed out some issues through touch."

"Is she going to be okay?"

"Of course; I act as her guide. We take care of first timers when they have a trip. Tis only courtesy," Persica used the fiery end of a dread to light a new doobie, since her current one was almost diminished. She reached into her cleavage and took out the star mint, "I got what I want."

"Nice!" Minnie jumped for joy. "How about we go help Gamer?"

"Let him be," Persica waved away. "Knowing Gamer, he's weaponizing his unmentionables and is sexing his way to victory."
