Chapter 27 - A friend.

"But effort has its limits too, even with a strong mindset, you'll eventually hit a massive wall."

"Your current level is Dawn, each level requires a tremendous amount of effort to break through and reach the next one."

" Every level ultimately requires a certain number of points to be obtained, watch with me on the board."

Then the professor took a marker and began writing on the whiteboard.

[Dawn: 35.]

[Sunrise: 40.]

[Sunset: 45.]

[Dusk: 50.]

[Solar Eclipse: 55.]

[Lunar Eclipse: 60.]

[Daytime: 65.]

[Night: ?? / 70.]

"As you can see, each level requires a certain number of points to reach. For example, to reach the Sunrise level, you need to earn 35 points in the Dawn level."

"Those points represent your training. As your strength, speed, agility, stamina, and intelligence increase, once the total reaches 35 points, you will pass that level."

"It might seem easy, and some of you might say, 'Just 35 points? I can do that.' Well, you can do it if you have the right mindset."

The professor tapped her forehead with her index finger, as if mocking those with an arrogant mindset.

Especially those with empty arrogance.

"Every level requires a certain number, but the final level hasn't been confirmed. Even those who reach it find it difficult to continue, and some say that 70 points is the limit that will take you to the end of that level, and no level beyond it, because that is the limit of humanity."

"The more humans keep striving, the more they find their efforts met with chains and towering walls."

The professor continued explaining and answering questions without tiring, pointing out the key points to focus on and not overlooking a single detail.

And so the class drew to a close.

"Alright, in the last section, I'll explain what happens when you reach the next level. Pay attention to the board with me."

[Dawn: 10%]

[Sunrise: 20%]

[Sunset: 30%]

[Dusk: 40%]

[Solar Eclipse: 50%]

[Lunar Eclipse: 60%]

[Daytime: 70%]

[Night: ??]

"What you see now is the reward, the so called 'Limit Break', upon advancing to the next level, you receive a boost to your stats. For example, to surpass the Sunrise level, you must reach 40 points. When you successfully clear it and reach the Sunset level, you receive a+20% bonus. Consequently, those 40 points you earned through sweat and toil are supplemented by an additional 8 points."

"The System distributes them, but no one knows why. Everyone who has passed this stage, and many of you will, will feel that new limits have been set for you."

"However, the effort required will be different and far greater than before. This is why so few reach the summit, no one can exert effort forever."

"With that, we conclude our session. Our next topic will be about Talents."

No sooner had the professor said this than the bell rang.

The professor left, and the students' chatter began to rise.

"How mysterious! I didn't know this information before..."

"The Hesto family, I didn't know the professor was from that terrifying family..."

"You're right, it's a family famous for its male chauvinism..."

"I think..."

"What kind of power have those at Level 8 attained?"

Every kind of chatter and nonsense filled the air, some felt curiosity, others the excitement to exert effort, while some remained indifferent...

Everyone spoke in their own way, but every time Deebt looked at them, he felt nothing but mockery toward them.

Some of these people were nothing but sycophants boasting about others' achievements, mere people without substance.

These were the worst kind of people, they were useless, and if they were given power, they would abuse it.

Milly looked at Deebt, who was staring at the others.

"Deebt, is there something about them that interests you?" Milly asked.

"No, I'm just observing those who brag about others' achievements." Deebt scoffed.

"Huh? You're really eccentric, but you're a very unique kind of eccentric."

"Stop mocking me, I'm going to get breakfast. Are you coming with me?" Deebt asked, ignoring Milly's mockery.

"Alright."

Deebt and Milly got up and left the hall.

He followed the signs pointing to the cafeteria.

The hallways at the academy were pristine and luxurious, even though they were underground, it didn't feel that way at all.

It felt like shopping in a large mall, that was the atmosphere the academy provided.

Although during the test, it seemed the opposite.

Deebt and Milly arrived at the cafeteria and got in line.

Breakfast was provided by the academy, as were all the meals for the day, they made sure that the students' efforts were supported by good nutrition.

When their turn finally came, Deebt received three medium boiled eggs, whole grain bread, a whole avocado, and a drink consisting of black coffee without sugar and lightly flavored with cinnamon.

As for Milly, she received a different meal, a spinach omelet, half an avocado, and a slice of protein toast, along with black coffee with a light touch of cocoa.

Differences were even taken into account between the genders, and this has led to very good results since the academy's inception.

Deebt and Milly went out to the garden, well, you could call it an underground garden.

When you look up at the ceiling, you can clearly see the sky, but that's just a 3D effect.

The garden was huge, and students filled the endless benches.

Deebt and Milly took a seat in one of the corners and ate their breakfast in comfort.

"This is wonderful and delicious, and the drink goes perfectly with the meal." Milly smiled happily as she ate her meal.

"It really is good. From what Jazz told me, they take student safety very seriously, and they have world class chefs and nutrition experts." Deebt spoke casually.

Milly looked at him for a moment, then dismissed the topic and asked another question.

"Deebt, why don't you talk to others the way you talk to me, Jazz, and Sam?"

"There's no point in talking to them. Besides, Jazz is my brother, you've been my neighbor since childhood, and Sam is my friend."

Milly fell silent and didn't answer, then heard someone speaking as they approached them.

"Hahaha, that's great, I've never heard you say that before." with a cheerful, amused voice, someone approached the spot where Deebt and Milly were sitting.

Deebt looked at the speaker, it was none other than Sam, accompanied by Heri.

"Hi, we're going to sit with you."

Sam was known for being a cheerful guy, it wasn't hard for him to fit in.

And soon the conversation started to get going.

"Deebt, did you talk to Jazz?" Sam asked.

"No, but he'll be fine."

"Man, you're heartless." Sam said sarcastically.

"Maybe, but…"

"Hmm, but what?" Sam asked.

"What do you want, Sky?" Deebt pointed his fork behind Sam.

A girl with attractive, wavy orange hair and eyes as blue as the sky, her face marked by freckles.

"Hi, Deebt Jacks, hi everyone. Can I join you? I'd like to be your new friend."
