I totally forgot about the kiss. It never crossed my mind at all and now I don't know what do.
I don't even know how to kiss, I have never kissed in my entire life so this will be my first kiss which will turn out a mess because of me.
I looked at Landon with wide eyes meeting with his which is studying me. He obviously seems to notice my reaction.
But he suddenly places his hand on my waist, pulling me close to him and he gently grabs my nape with his other hand, pulling me and he is bending his head for the kiss.
I don't know what to do but I just close my eyes before our lips collided.
He seems to notice my uncomfort since the kiss was just a pick on the lips and he pulled away with his hands and holds my both hands instead.
I opened my eyes and looked at him in surprise.
But wait, I think I just saw him smile at me.
No. I most be just seeing things, there is no way Landon Harper smiled at me. No way.
The audience starts to clap and cheer in the background which made me take my gaze away from his but I can still feel his gaze hot on me.
All this feels so awkward and weird which is so uncomfortable.
He eventually places his hand on my waist and guides me down the two steps towards which looks like his parents. Ares Harper and Ariana Harper.
Ariana is smiling so wide as she is watching us approach them, like she wants to fly out of happiness. I met her only once and she was nothing but nice to me which was so unexpected but so grateful for. Because you will hardly find someone who is kind to a stranger.
While Ares Harper, I have never had a conversation with him but I, as a citizen of the united state, know that he is a great president.
We finally approached them and I am about to politely greet them but Ariana startled me when she suddenly pulls me away from Landon's grip and hugs me tight. It got me off guard and I don't know what to do which I find so uncomfortable.
"Oh Stella, I finally get to meet you again." Ariana says with happiness in her voice and hugs me even tighter instead of releasing me. So she even remembers me after Five years, which is so unexpected at all. How could she still remember a stranger after all this year or does she always remembers all the people she meets?
I awkwardly hug her back and say " Me too" just to return the kindness.
She finally pulls back from the hug but still holds my both arms.
She gives me a genuine soft smile but the concern is clear in her eyes "How are you?" She asks like she is genuinely cares about my wellbeing.
" I am good, Thank you" I politely replied even though it's a lie.
"Are you sure?" She still pushes like she sense my lies but she said it softly that only me could hear her.
I have always been a bad liar but I can't just tell her the truth that I am not okey being married to her son, it will just hurt her feelings and I don't want that because she really has a good kind heart I have ever met.
So I just gave her my first sincere smile even though my words won't be " Yes,I am" I said " And how are you doing?" I returned the same kind question to her.
She didn't seem to be convinced by my words but she didn't push it and just dropped it "I am perfectly good,dear" she answers happily again " I am very happy in a way that I might fly now" she says as she is shaking me with her and I am smiling widely at her excitement.
Ariana Harper is both a kind and cheerful woman but also strong who is underestimated as a woman.
Ares Harper holds his wife for her to stop and let go of me " Calm down, Ariana. If you want to fly, fly with me instead of her. Landon won't be happy if you take her with you." He says to his wife then turns to face me with a polite smile on his face. " Welcome to the family, Stella" he says.
I shyly smile back at him " Thank you"
Cole steps forward "Now it is my turn" and attempts for a hug but Landon immediately stops him by coming between both of us and pushes him back.
Landon stares at him "What do you think you are doing?"
" What does it look like? Of course, welcoming you wife." Cole explains.
" You can easily do that with your words only"
Landon tells him.
Cole let's his both hands on air in surrender " Gosh man.You just got married and you are already possessed"
Landon eventually moves away and Cole looks at me at with also a polite smile " Welcome to the family,Stella"
I returned the smile and said " Thank you " every though I am not.
Cole looks at Landon and then smirks and turns his gaze back on me " And Stella, Good luck with this man." He says as he points his thumb towards Landon and that makes my heart beat hard with anxiety even though I don't really know what he means but of course it wouldn't be good.
"Cole!" Ariana scolds as she glares at him.
"What? I am just wishing her luck" Cole explains himself.
"No you are not,you are just scaring her off" Ariana argues then looks at me "Don't mind him, he is childish sometimes." She tells me.
I smile at her " No problem"
Landon places his hand back on my waist like he owns it, "if you will excuse us, I will take Stella inside for some rest" Landon says to his parents. They immediately nod in agreement and excused us.
Landon walks me towards the same huge door I walked out off earlier.
I only come to realize now that my legs hurts so badly now from how I stood for so long on them. I am so grateful that Landon is walking slow now even though he could walk faster with those long legs that he has.
As we walked through the huge door, I expected him to release me and drop the gentleman act and starts to treat me normally coldly like it supposed to since there is no one here, he will just behave naturally without pretending. But instead he kindly continues to walk me towards where seems like the main sitting area.
