Loreen's POV
Loreen could not sleep.
He had tried to go back to sleep after waking up in the middle of the night. He had lain in bed and closed his eyes and waited for sleep to arrive the way it usually did, quickly and without much effort. But it did not come.
He turned onto his side and then onto his back and then onto his side again and after a while he gave up entirely and got out of bed.
He did not know what it was. There was no particular thought keeping him awake, no specific worry he could point to. Just a restlessness that sat in his chest and would not settle.
He had felt it before, that particular kind of wakefulness that arrived without reason and refused to leave until it was ready.
He dressed and went to the training ground.
The morning was dark and cool and the training ground was empty at that hour. He picked up a bow and started shooting.
