Sairis's POV
The Moonveil Root looked fresh. That was the first thing Sairis noticed when he unwrapped it.
Not dried out and old like something that had been sitting in storage for years. Fresh enough that it had clearly been acquired recently.
He stared at it.
"What are you doing with fresh Moonveil Root," he muttered to himself. "Twenty years later. What are you planning."
The question settled into something cold in his chest.
If Greta was still acquiring Moonveil Root, it was not for nostalgic reasons. She was not keeping it as a reminder of something she had done in the past. She was keeping it because she intended to use it. Or was already using it.
On who?
He thought about the tea she had given Candice and was drinking with her. It was obviously not harmful since the both of them drank the tea together, and spent time together on the balcony.
