Sairis's POV
The curtain had been closed for what felt like a long time.
Sairis stood in his corner and watched the room and tried not to think too hard about what was happening on the other side of it.
Loreen was still standing beside him, close enough that their arms were almost touching, which was already more than Sairis was comfortable with given the number of people in the room.
He kept his eyes forward and his expression neutral and told himself that everything was fine.
"You did not need to be here," Sairis said, keeping his voice low enough that it did not carry past the two of them.
Loreen hummed. "I wanted to see your face," he said. He leaned slightly closer. "I have not seen you all day."
Sairis blinked and turned to look at him. "You saw me this morning," he said flatly.
Loreen turned his head just enough to look back at him. "Sleeping on my bed, yes," he said. "That is not quite the same thing."
