Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: At This Moment, The End Approaches!

That perverted instructor seemed to know that Kaede had returned here once again, but this time he didn't seem to have any intention of going out to continue doing missions.

"Has she grown to this point?" The instructor grinned, then laughed out loud, holding his stomach, as if tears were about to be laughed out. It wasn't known what was so funny.

"That Bill should have a headache~" To say who understood Kaede best, although he didn't want to admit it, it was undoubtedly this perverted instructor. He could guess Kaede's thoughts, the ideas that had been practiced since she was a child.

Even later, when Kaede seemed very strong, the instructor knew that she was actually vulnerable. As long as Bill was a little bolder and used Kurome to make a fuss, it could be said that tying Kaede to the bed would be no problem.

However, would the instructor remind Bill? No. He really wanted to see that livid face of Bill's, and that kind of suppressed anger where he dared not speak.

Thinking of his superior being forced into this state by the student he taught, the instructor felt a sense of pleasure in his heart. Happy! Glad! He wanted to laugh heartily!

"I didn't teach this girl in vain!" The instructor wanted to shout, but unfortunately, why hadn't she come to assassinate him yet? According to his vision, Kaede should have displayed her highest level of assassination to send him to his grave.

It should be soon, right? The instructor thought, his whole body trembling. He still wanted to feel it, still wanted to try, using his last life to try his most proud student's highest masterpiece!

Let me become your highest masterpiece! You must not disappoint me! Kaede!

Of course, she wouldn't disappoint him. Actually, Kaede's feelings towards this instructor were still very complicated, because the person who influenced her the most was this one.

At the beginning, she went to listen to his explanations full of murderous intent towards him, and then he also helped her a lot in various missions.

Actually, after a long time, Kaede's murderous intent towards this instructor gradually faded, but the instructor's eyes revealed disappointment in her.

Kaede didn't quite understand, and then thought for a long time, until she recalled the instructor's reaction when she killed the Soldier who was acting as a referee, and then she understood that, whether it was for herself or for that instructor, the best way was to just kill him.

Furthermore, as the person who had the greatest influence on her, Kaede would unleash all her skills to show her instructor what her assassination was truly like!

At some unknown moment, the instructor woke from his deep slumber and began his daily morning routine. However, he kept feeling that something was wrong; his left hand... seemed to be gone!

Looking at the empty space where his left hand should have been, the instructor felt absolutely nothing, not even a hint of pain.

Then, the instructor realized what was happening: her assassination had begun. Was she really going to make him continue preparing in this manner?

Hahaha, good, good! Let us continue playing!

The next day, as the instructor opened his eyes, he felt it was another beautiful day. He hadn't noticed anything during his light sleep that night, but he felt that he was missing another part of himself.

Sure enough, the spot where his right foot should have been was empty, and not even a single drop of blood had spilled.

"How on earth did she do that?" The instructor was puzzled, but he didn't need to know the reason. He only knew that his student was slowly erasing his existence in a way that left even him astonished.

On the third day, the instructor prepared thoroughly, filling the house with traps. Yet, his right hand disappeared once again.

On the fourth day, the instructor didn't close his eyes, waiting there for his student to arrive. But there was nothing—no feeling of being watched, no sound of wind, absolutely nothing.

Growing impatient, the instructor frowned. Would she not come while he was awake? However, when he sat up, his eyes widened. His final part had actually been severed, and he hadn't felt a thing!

"Are you satisfied?" Suddenly, Kaede's voice echoed in the dim room.

The instructor looked around his familiar room but couldn't find a trace of Kaede. Even though she had spoken, he still couldn't sense her presence, not even her general location!

The instructor laughed, breaking into uproarious laughter.

"Satisfied, very satisfied!!"

"Haha! Hahaha!!"

Finally, the instructor saw Kaede—or rather, Kaede had voluntarily appeared before him.

Kaede was still wearing her usual black outfit, her long black hair hanging loose. Her crimson eyes stared calmly at the instructor, and in her hand, she held a brand-new Tachi, its blade pristine and white, unstained by a single drop of blood.

At this moment, Kaede seemed to be waiting for something, waiting for the instructor's laughter to end.

"Ah~" The instructor groaned in apparent enjoyment, then looked up at the ceiling and said, "I am very satisfied."

He didn't ask why; the instructor didn't need to know such things. He was very happy now, truly happy. If it were anyone else, losing a limb all of a sudden might have terrified them out of their wits. This way of merely waiting for death to arrive was the most torturous method of all.

"My end is here~" The instructor seemed to be lamenting something. This empire, this world, had forged him into who he was: self-indulgent, self-loathing, with only this tiny shred of pleasure in his life.

Now, finally, this pathetic life was coming to an end!

No regrets, never any regrets. Regardless of how perverted, cruel, or unreasonable he seemed to others, at least his life had a shred of pleasure. At least he wasn't a walking corpse; he had his own perversions.

"Well, could you let me see your strongest technique?" The instructor suddenly wore a look of seriousness that he had never shown before.

"Strongest... technique?" Kaede murmured to herself, recalling her attacks. Did she have techniques?

"None?" A mocking expression appeared on the instructor's face. "Are you telling me that with your current self, you still don't have a technique?"

"..." Kaede wasn't sure what could be considered a technique. Was it Barbara's secret skill? Or that strike Taeko had used against her?

If it was just that, Kaede's eyes flashed; she could do that too!

At some unknown moment, her long blade had already returned to its sheath.

"Iaijutsu?" The instructor's eyes lit up.

Kaede didn't know if this counted as Iaijutsu. After all, her assassinations were just like this; in the vast majority of cases, she only needed to draw the blade, swing it, and sheath it to solve the problem.

If one were to ask what Kaede's most proficient sword technique was right now, it would definitely be drawing the sword, then swinging it, and finally sheathing it.

Her hand was already on the hilt.

She drew the sword—silent. She swung—fast as lightning. One could only see a lingering flash of white light before realizing Kaede's blade had already returned to its sheath.

"Not bad, very not bad. What is it called?" The instructor grinned, even though he hadn't felt where Kaede had actually struck him.

"Let's call it Iai-Zan." Kaede said, then looked at the instructor, turned around, and did not look back at the instructor, whose eyes had lost their color at some unknown point.

She reached out her hand, as if grasping the cold moon in the sky.

"At this very moment, the end... has arrived."

Behind her, the instructor collapsed, the expression still frozen on his face.

Walking out the door, Kaede tightened her clothes, wandering alone in this darkness.
