What does it mean to grind experience? And is it possible to grind experience in SAO?
Kirito and Kaede will tell you: yes, it is.
Staying beside Yui, Asuna watched her experience bar constantly rising and was shocked. This was simply cheating!
However, Asuna showed a smile; this feeling wasn't bad.
Indeed, the most annoying thing when playing a game is encountering hackers, but if that 'hack' is in your own hands, well, the feeling is quite nice.
Over there, Kirito was using two one-handed swords to repeatedly harvest mobs, while Kaede was not to be outdone, with critical hit damage numbers appearing over the mobs' heads one after another.
As for Kirito, since he had already told Kaede about his Dual Blades, he didn't intend to hide it from Asuna anymore. Actually, Asuna didn't know about Kaede's Weakness Analysis either. The reason? It was just because Kaede forgot to tell Asuna; no, she probably just didn't have the habit of mentioning it. After all, in Kaede's eyes, it was just a skill.
When the two of them showed Asuna their skills, Asuna stared at them with her mouth open, finally only able to say: "You... you two monsters!"
That's right, Kirito with Dual Blades was even faster than Kaede in terms of attack speed, and combined with his attack power, his damage was off the charts. As for Kaede, she was dealing with mobs that had low defense, which also resulted in explosive damage. The two combined created a situation of grinding experience that was almost like cheating.
"Papa, Mama, and that Uncle are so amazing!" Beside Asuna, Yui also watched their figures with stars in her eyes, appearing to admire them greatly.
That's right, that 'Uncle' referred to Kirito.
Kirito had rushed over after receiving Kaede's message. He had to come; after all, he had just received a top-tier weapon from her, so how could he refuse her request?
"Come, call him Uncle." Kirito still remembered when he first arrived, Asuna and Kaede pointed at him and spoke to the little girl.
"Uncle?" Sweat immediately broke out on Kirito's forehead. Was he really that old?
"Don't listen to them, call me Big Brother." Kirito didn't care if he knew Yui or not and ran straight over to say so.
"Eh?" Yui, who was originally going to call him Uncle, was stunned for a moment and looked at her Papa and Mama.
"By the way, who is she?" Kirito asked at this time.
"Our daughter, Yui." Asuna looked playfully at Kirito, whose face was gradually becoming blank. She felt quite happy because it seemed everyone who learned this news showed such an expression; it was truly interesting.
"Your daughter?" Kirito swallowed hard and asked with a slightly trembling voice.
"Yes, our daughter, Yui." Kaede nuzzled Yui from the side.
"Mama~" Yui laughed as Kaede nuzzled her.
"I am the Papa," Asuna added at this moment.
"As I thought." Kirito nodded to himself. Looking at Kaede and Asuna, it was indeed as he had suspected regarding their relationship. As for Yui, she was definitely adopted; no matter how silly he was, Kirito couldn't mistake the fact that two women cannot have a child.
"You should just call me Uncle," Kirito sighed and said to Yui. He didn't want to be a generation lower than Kaede and Asuna for no reason.
And so, Kirito's title was settled.
"Yes, they really are powerful." Although Asuna felt a bit envious, she wasn't someone who particularly craved power, so she wasn't overly jealous.
However, in the next moment, Kaede stopped.
"What's wrong?" Kirito also stopped after cleaving the mob in front of him to pieces.
"Someone is coming," Kaede said.
"Hmm?" Kirito was startled for a moment. He naturally trusted Kaede's judgment and immediately put away the sword Kaede had given him.
After he put it away, Kirito and Asuna also vaguely saw some blurry figures appearing in the distance.
"Are those... The Army?" Once those people got a bit closer, Asuna asked with some uncertainty.
"Probably. But, have they joined the front lines again?" Kirito frowned and stood to the side, as if making way for the people from The Army.
Seeing Kirito's actions, Kaede and Asuna took Yui and stood to the side as well.
It seemed they all didn't want to provoke the people from The Army.
However, just because they didn't want to provoke them didn't mean nothing would happen.
When the people from The Army saw Kaede, they immediately drew their weapons.
"All units, prepare!" the leader at the head of The Army shouted.
"Huh?" Kaede was stunned by their actions. She hadn't provoked them, had she? Why?
"What do you want to do?" Asuna and Kirito asked at the same time.
"Do you want to protect a criminal who has killed people?" The leader looked at Kirito and Asuna. "It seems you are accomplices as well."
"Criminal?" Kirito and Asuna were stunned, then remembered that Kaede's name was currently orange.
"You... do you really think of yourselves as an army?" A trace of annoyance appeared in Kaede's eyes. Being treated like this clearly made her feel very unpleasant.
"They are the flower of strategy of the Knights of the Blood Oath. Are you sure you want to draw your swords against them?" Kirito reminded them from the side.
"What? The flower of strategy!!" Immediately, the people on The Army's side fell into chaos, and even the leader at the front broke out in a sweat.
The title of the flower of strategy was famous everywhere.
Even their leader was like this; instantly, the people in The Army erupted into a commotion like a noisy marketplace.
Actually, they couldn't be blamed; after all, they were originally just ordinary players. They joined The Army just to do some simple quests, undergo training, and obtain some necessities of life.
To expect them to have the quality of real soldiers? Sorry, that was impossible.
Looking at them, Kaede's original annoyance and urge to draw her sword instantly vanished. She gave them a bored glance and said to Kirito, Asuna, and Yui, "Let's find another place to level up."
"Okay." The group's interest had been dampened, and they all felt a bit bored.
Yui even looked at the group from The Army with her little brows furrowed, seemingly very dissatisfied that they had disturbed them.
"Wait." At this moment, the leader of The Army called out to them.
"What is it?" Kaede turned around somewhat impatiently.
"Do you know where the boss room is?"
"Over there," Kaede said, pointing in a random direction.
Seeing the dissatisfaction on Kaede's face, the leader didn't want to continue asking for detailed coordinates and led the group away.
After The Army people had gone far, Asuna couldn't help but ask, "Kaede, hasn't that area not been explored yet?"
"Uh, I just said it randomly," Kaede said, stunned.
Meanwhile, Kirito was thinking. Looking in the direction The Army disappeared and checking the map, he suddenly clapped his hands, giving them a start.
"What are you doing?" Several of them were a bit dissatisfied.
"The direction Kaede said might actually be true!" Kirito said.
"Huh?" Kaede blinked. That really was just a direction she pointed to randomly.
Kirito continued, "We've already explored most of this Labyrinth Area but haven't found the boss door, and that way is the only place we haven't been to." As he spoke, Kirito looked over there and didn't continue.
But Asuna and Kaede both understood. Glancing at each other, Asuna said a bit stutteringly, "They... they wouldn't be so stupid as to use that kind of equipment to challenge the boss, right?"
Asuna had noticed that the faces of those in The Army were written with exhaustion, and the standard equipment they wore—how should she put it—looked like common gear at a glance. No, at the current player levels, it might not even count as common gear anymore.
"We should still go take a look..." Kirito thought for a moment and sighed.
"Do we really have to go?" Kaede's face was written with ten thousand reasons not to.
"Let's go, let's go," Asuna also said.
"Alright." Since Asuna had agreed, Kaede no longer objected, though her reluctance was plain to see.
And so, the group walked in the direction Kaede had just pointed.
