"Fine," Gu Fan finally agreed, "Since you are asking so nicely, I promise to deliver a little something to your sect. But don't be too hopeful. I am not going overboard."
"Thank you," the old woman breathed a heavy sigh of relief, "You are shameless. But I think you will keep your word."
With the promise finally made, the woman tried to push her frail body onto her feet. But her knees shook and her legs almost gave in. She was about to collapse back on the ground when Gu Fan moved and caught her mid-way.
"What are you doing?" The woman looked at her and blinked.
"You walk slower than a turtle carrying a mountain," Gu Fan replied in annoyance, completely losing his heavy patience as he stepped forward, and without any hesitation, Gu Fan grabbed the old woman by her hand, lifting her light body off the floor like an empty bag of dry bones.
"Hey! Put me down!" she protested, flailing her thin arms helplessly in the air.
