Chapter 428: Origin Artifact? Origin Treasure? The Crafting Process?
....
Right now, Seito was only at the early stage of the Main God Realm, so he had to hurry! Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to catch up to those veteran peak Main Gods!
Still, there was one major advantage Seito possessed: as a newly ascended Main God, information about his existence was known to Nyaruko alone!
"Looks like I'll need to use Mirror Space-Time," Seito mused, resting his chin in his hand.
His top priority right now was utilizing his clone techniques. Using shadow clones to gather Creation Energy for him would give him a massive speed advantage over other Main Gods! After all, the other Main Gods were constantly keeping tabs on each other, forcing them to rely exclusively on lower gods to scout for them.
However, lower gods were nowhere near as fast as a Main God!
A step ahead at the start meant staying ahead all the way!
Thus, Seito decided to dispatch his shadow clones to handle the search. This was a golden opportunity, and he had to seize it!
Having made up his mind, Seito pulled out the Primordial Placenta and turned to Nyaruko: "Nyaruko, how do I actually use this thing?"
Not knowing the exact mechanics behind it, asking Nyaruko directly was the best option.
"That's an item used to help you forge Main God tier weapons," Nyaruko replied.
"Weapons for Main Gods?" Seito paused.
No wonder his God-King gear couldn't be upgraded directly—it turned out that upon reaching the Main God Realm, the foundational mechanics of equipment progression changed completely.
"Can you break down the details?" Seito asked.
"Sure!" Nyaruko nodded willingly and explained, "Weapons wielded by Main Gods are categorized into two types: Origin Artifacts and Origin Treasures."
"Both require a Primordial Placenta to be created."
"Generally speaking, most Main Gods can only craft Origin Artifacts. To be honest, I've never seen a true Origin Treasure in person before."
"The crafting process itself is super simple: you place your God-King gear inside the placenta, select one base item, and then store the placenta inside your sea of consciousness to nurture it using your Divine Core's power."
Hearing her explanation, Seito fell into thought.
If things worked the way Nyaruko described, he could begin crafting an Origin Artifact immediately—after all, his Space Set comprised five full pieces of God-King tier equipment!
However... which piece should he pick as the base item?
After weighing his options for a moment, Seito had his answer! He decided to select the Dimensional Cube as his primary base item!
The reasoning was simple: as far as overall versatility and cost-efficiency went, using the Dimensional Cube as the core base yielded the highest practical value! Although the Spatial Dragon Blade looked undeniably cooler, its functional utility was far too linear compared to the cube.
Wait, what about my Dimensional Slash then?
Recalling his signature skill, Seito felt a slight headache. Dimensional Slash was one of his primary lethal finishers. Using the Dimensional Cube as the base felt almost like sacrificing one of his main skills, which wasn't a great feeling.
Even so, Seito decided to stick with the Dimensional Cube. Perhaps once it evolved into an Origin Artifact, it would surprise him with unexpected upgrades.
"Are you planning to craft an Origin Artifact right now?" Nyaruko asked, looking at him curiously.
"Yeah," Seito nodded.
"Oh, right! I heard a rumor about how to craft an Origin Treasure, though I'm not sure if it's actually true," Nyaruko chimed in as if suddenly remembering something.
"Oh? Let's hear it," Seito's interest was piqued.
"I heard that if you use five pieces of God-King equipment belonging to the exact same set, you can upgrade the result into an Origin Treasure. But I have no idea if that actually works," Nyaruko answered.
"That sounds fake, doesn't it?" Seito made a strange face.
Crafting an Origin Treasure just by using a set? That seemed a little too easy.
"It's not fake at all!" Nyaruko shook her head vigorously. "Set equipment recognized and rewarded by the God Domain system is exceptionally rare!"
"Main Gods who possess complete set equipment are practically non-existent, because they can no longer receive beginner set rewards from the God Domain system."
"Attempting to forge a set manually doesn't carry that special system effect, making full sets ridiculously hard to come by."
Hearing her explanation, Seito fell into deep thought.
Thinking about it now, he had assumed sets were easy to obtain simply because Earth had received a generous amount of system-rewarded sets before fully merging with the God Domain. Reflecting on his experiences in the lower Divine Domains and the God-King Star Sector, the vast majority of gods and God-Kings possessed no set gear at all!
The former Weapon God-King held a single set weapon, but lacked the remaining four matching pieces. Looking at it from that perspective, complete set gear really was exceptionally scarce. He had simply taken his own good fortune for granted.
With that realization, Seito stripped off all five pieces of his Space Set on the spot, using his divine energy to weave a clean white windbreaker over his shoulders.
Nyaruko: "???!"
Nani?! What on earth?!
Staring at the full five-piece set floating in front of Seito, Nyaruko was completely dumbfounded. She had literally just said full sets were practically impossible to find, only for Seito to slap her in the face with a complete set a second later! The sudden turn of events left her utterly dazed.
Ignoring her reaction, Seito looked at the Primordial Placenta, threw all five pieces of his Space Set inside at once, and channeled his internal energy!
Zip~!
The Primordial Placenta transformed into a streak of radiant light, shooting straight into Seito's body!
[You have placed the "Space Set" inside the Primordial Placenta.]
[You have placed the Primordial Placenta inside your sea of consciousness.]
[Using the "Dimensional Cube" as the base item, you have begun nurturing an Origin Artifact.]
Seito inspected his sea of consciousness internally.
Inside, his Divine Core was spinning at high speed. Torrents of space-time energy showered down onto the Primordial Placenta, initiating the nurturing process for his new weapon.
Satisfied, Seito retracted his internal vision.
"I wonder how long it'll take to complete the process," Seito remarked softly.
"You can actually speed it up! By actively channeling your Divine Core's energy to nurture it, you can finish crafting the Origin Artifact within a week at fastest," Nyaruko explained, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
If Seito actually managed to nurture a true Origin Treasure, she was definitely sticking with him from now on! After all, he was a top-tier potential powerhouse! With that thought in mind, her gaze toward Seito softened considerably.
"By the way, do you want to visit my home planet for a bit?" Seito offered an invitation.
Nyaruko had a pretty fun personality. Aside from being a bit silly—just like in the anime—she was pleasant to be around.
"I'd love to!" Nyaruko accepted with a bright grin.
Seito's suggestion matched her desires perfectly! She was genuinely dying to see what kind of planet could produce the Kamen Rider series!
