The group gathered around the dining table and began their meal.
"When you log in today, remember to settle the quest rewards," Sora said to Seito, as if suddenly recalling something.
The regional quest Seito had posted previously hadn't been settled for five days. During that time, the players had been hunting Western players like men possessed. It was safe to say that right now, there were barely any Western players left with a level higher than 20.
"Got it," Seito replied.
Half an hour later, the meal concluded, and everyone returned to their respective homes. Seito, Amou, and Kanade used their Real Login devices to enter the game.
God Domain: 30th Floor, The Endless Continent.
Extreme North, Royal Palace of the Imperial Capital.
Inside the palace, Seito materialized. The first thing he did was check his quest rankings.
1st Place: Lingering Breeze — Western Player Kills: 95.67M+
2nd Place: Chitoshi Yuki — Western Player Kills: 85.49M+
3rd Place: Northern Dark Fish — Western Player Kills: 80.27M+
The top three rewards were ready. Seito tapped the "Settle" button. Simultaneously, a system announcement flashed before the eyes of the top three players:
[System: Please proceed to the Royal Palace of the Snezhnaya Empire to claim your rewards.]
Upon seeing the message, the three players initiated their teleports immediately.
Back in the palace, Seito glanced at Amou kirukiru and Kanade Tachibana beside him.
"What are you two planning to do?"
"Head to the 40th floor to grind some materials," Amou replied after a moment's thought.
"Me too," Kanade added.
"Then you guys go on ahead. After I hand out these rewards, I need to make a trip to the 11th floor."
Seito wanted to turn in the Ancient Ruins quest. They had already finished mapping the 51st floor. Plus, he could finally upgrade his Snow-White Trench Coat into Golden Grade gear. After turning in the quest, he planned to track down Maple.
the two girls nodded and teleported away. Seito sat upon his throne, waiting in silence.
Soon, three players—two men and one woman—entered the palace halls. They were the top three contributors. Aside from "Chitoshi Yuki," the other two appeared as middle-aged men.
"Greetings, Emperor Seito," Lingering Breeze said with a smile, offering a polite nod.
Seito nodded back, observing the trio. Lingering Breeze and Northern Dark Fish were brimming with energy, and a faint, sharp killing intent clung to them. Even just standing there, they had the unmistakable posture of soldiers.
Seito surmised that in the real world, they were likely soldiers of the Eastern Country !
As for Chitoshi Yuki, she carried an air of natural nobility. Her features were refined; she looked like a young lady from a prominent family in high society. Searching his memory, Seito quickly recalled the "Chitoshi Family" of the Magic Capital. She was likely one of theirs.
Pulling his thoughts back, Seito looked at them and spoke.
"Lingering Breeze, I grant you the territory of the Gamma Plains and Mount Mingfeng."
"My thanks, Emperor," Lingering Breeze bowed.
"Chitoshi Yuki, I appoint you as the Empire's Minister of Industry."
In Seito's Snezhnaya Empire, while military titles followed ancient traditions, civil administrative roles were based on modern structures. After all, modern management was far more efficient than ancient systems.
"My thanks, Emperor," Chitoshi Yuki bowed.
"Northern Dark Fish, you may claim your Red Grade equipment from Executive 'SunyCat.' She is currently at the Imperial Ministry of Finance."
"Understood, Emperor," the final winner bowed.
With their rewards claimed, the three departed the palace. Seito rubbed his chin, deep in thought. It seemed the Eastern Country was still unaware of the "Real World Manifestation" phenomenon.
Otherwise, they wouldn't have just left so casually after receiving their rewards.
Clearing his mind, Seito teleported out of the palace.
God Domain: 11th Floor.
Due to the intervention of the Western Servers, a second city had appeared on the 11th floor alongside Feiling City. This was the case for most of the first twenty floors. Because floor-wide authority had been split, the City Lords of these rival cities were both itching to wipe each other out.
Seito appeared in the Feiling City safe zone. Without hesitation, he flew straight toward the City Lord's Mansion. A minute later, he reached the door to Cang Feiyun's study.
Knock, knock, knock—
"Enter," came Cang Feiyun's voice. Compared to their first meeting, it sounded a touch more weary.
Seito opened the door and walked in.
"Ah, it's you, young friend," Cang Feiyun said, a smile breaking through his tired expression.
"Mmh," Seito grunted in affirmation. He pulled out a map and placed it on the desk.
"City Lord Cang, here is the map of the 51st floor you requested."
"Much appreciated." Seeing the map, the exhaustion on Cang Feiyun's face faded significantly.
Seito took the opportunity to ask, "City Lord Cang, do you need any help regarding this new city that's cropped up?"
"No need," Cang Feiyun shook his head.
"The rival City Lord isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed; I can handle him myself.
However, the first twenty floors are all in a similar state. I think you'd be of more help on other floors."
In the end, these Western Server cities were merely interlopers. Cang Feiyun and the others had zero goodwill toward these late arrivals.
Seito nodded. After a brief chat, he took his leave.
God Domain: 17th Floor.
Snow Maiden Safe Zone.
Just as Seito finished his teleport, he saw the Snow Maiden tribe locked in combat with a horde of Snowmen just outside the safe zone. These Snowmen had double rows of jagged fangs and claws for hands; they certainly didn't look like the friendly type.
"Seito, you've arrived."
The voice of Mia Snow came from behind him. Seito turned to see the Queen standing there with a squad of Snow Maiden guards, watching him with a gentle smile.
"Queen, it looks like things are a bit messy on your end," Seito remarked with a grin.
"Sigh, it's alright," Mia Snow sighed. "I didn't expect the Snowman Tribe to suddenly appear here either."
