Chapter 99: Floor 51; The Wasteland Tier?

...

"Do you think this Boss is going to be massive?" Haruno Yukinoshita asked, a trace of concern flashing in her eyes as she visualized the scale of the 50th floor.

"Hard to say," Sora replied, shaking his head. "Sometimes the labyrinth is just huge to be intimidating, but the Boss itself is normal-sized."

"Either way, one hit from this thing would probably delete us," Seito joked, though his tone carried the weight of reality. Attempting the Floor 50 Labyrinth at their current level was, by any objective measure, a suicide mission.

He pulled out the Concealment Orb, activating the golden equipment's unique effect. A soft, translucent veil of energy wrapped around the four of them.

"Let's go. Stay close."

They pushed open the towering stone doors and stepped into the Boss Chamber.

The moment they entered, the air grew heavy. A gargantuan silhouette loomed before them, its sheer scale forcing them to stop dead in their tracks. It stood nearly eighty meters tall—a terrifying figure with a malevolent face and two extra arms sprouting from its back. Its four massive hands gripped four distinct, oversized weapons: a sword, a spear, a staff, and a bow.

[Ancient Troll]

[HP: 10 Billion / 10 Billion]

"Thank god... its eyes are closed," Seito whispered, letting out a slow breath. A Boss with ten billion HP was on an entirely different level than the Frost Giant King they had faced before. They couldn't afford to make a single sound.

Seito looked at Sora and began to hover silently off the ground. Sora caught the cue instantly, activating his own flight ability. In a room like this, even the softest footstep on the stone floor could spell disaster. Floating was the only safe way to transit.

Seito reached back, pulling Haruno onto his back, then scooped Shiro into his arms.

[Executive Chat Channel]

[Sei: Haruno, hold on tight. Don't make a sound.]

[SunnyCat: Got it!]

The four of them drifted like ghosts toward the exit passage behind the slumbering giant. Five minutes felt like an eternity, but they reached the far side without a single hitch. Slipping through the exit, they transitioned to the 51st floor.

God's Domain, Floor 51.

As the environment shifted, everyone let out a collective sigh of relief.

"That thing was terrifying," Seito remarked with a dry chuckle. "Even just standing there asleep, the pressure was suffocating."

"No kidding," Sora grinned. "Ten billion HP... I can only imagine what its base stats are like."

After the brief exchange, they turned to survey their new surroundings. Their expressions quickly soured.

"What happened here?" Seito's brow furrowed.

The landscape was a nightmare of desolation. The flora was withered and gray; the air felt stagnant and devoid of life. Dead trees littered the ground like skeletal remains. Scattered amongst the decay were rusted gears, shattered metal plating, and various mechanical parts.

"Seito-nii~ Look at this~" Shiro called out from behind him.

The group turned to see a flickering, cracked monitor embedded in a mound of debris. Looking at the tech, a theory began to form.

"This floor must have been technologically advanced once," Seito murmured. He tried to pull up the map, but as expected, it was blank. Since they hadn't entered the floor through "legitimate" means, the system provided no navigational data.

"Advanced is an understatement," Sora added, his voice laced with doubt. "But isn't this supposed to be an 'Ancient Ruin'?"

The contradiction was jarring. The lore spoke of an era of gods and ancient myths, yet they were standing amidst modern—or even futuristic—industrial wreckage.

"Do you think it's possible," Haruno started, "that every floor in God's Domain corresponds to a different world, or even a different planet?"

She had harbored the suspicion since seeing the absurd scale of the Floor 50 map. Standing in this wasteland, the feeling was now undeniable. Seito and Sora shared a look. It was a bold theory, but it made perfect sense.

"No use dwelling on it now," Seito said, shaking off the existential dread. "We need to scout the area."

He summoned the Dimensional Cube, willing it to deconstruct into twenty-seven fragments. They streaked out in all directions, acting as sensory nodes. By attaching his spatial energy to the cubes, Seito could "feel" the surrounding environment.

After a moment of concentration, he opened his eyes. "I'm not sensing any biological signatures, but stay sharp. Shiro, can your mech do a long-range scan?"

"Mhm~!"

Shiro deployed her armor, and ten spherical drones launched from her chassis, soaring into the sky. She projected a holographic display for the group. The moment the screen flickered to life, the four of them froze.

The camera showed them surrounded. Swarms of mist-like, ethereal entities were closing in from every side. There had to be at least a hundred thousand of them.

"Kamui!"

Without a word, Seito activated his spatial ability, pulling all four of them into the Kamui dimension. He left only a microscopic rift open so Shiro could continue to monitor the outside world.

It made sense why he hadn't sensed "life." These creatures were composed of smoke and shadow—they lacked a traditional biological pulse.

With a thought, the twenty-seven cubes zipped back into the Kamui space, hovering around him. Seito watched the monitor as the mist-monsters converged on their previous location.

"Haruno, get your spells ready," Seito commanded, his eyes narrowing. "I want to see exactly how much damage we can do to these things."

Haruno raised her staff, the tip beginning to glow with a dangerous, concentrated light.
