On the face of that 'other me' was a smile that was terrifying. Staring into my eyes, he said only this— "So far, you have only seen the mirror break... where will you find the courage to look at the face that is hidden behind this mirror?"
Before I could ask anything, that dim light in the room grew even more intense. The ringing increased so much that my head began to split. I squeezed my eyes shut tightly.
When I opened my eyes again, that chair was empty. The room was completely silent, as if no one had ever been there. But that broken mirror lying on the floor was still there. That symbol was mocking me. I had realized that from now on, whatever I see, it will not be as it appears.
I did not pick up that broken piece. I left it right there, amidst that silence and loneliness.
