The clock on the wall showed 10.26 P.M. All the office workers had gone home by now. And the office was closed up. Not a soul could be seen, but inside the building human presence is still lingering.
Jabida was walking by the narrow corridor. He was called to meet at this fixed hour. Though he was annoyed being summoned at a time when he usually sleeps, he knew that something significant was going to happen.
Here the corridor, a large hall opens. The extreme face of the hall was made entirely of glass. Just standing close to the glass pane was Usami. He was looking into the full moon, which did seem much larger than usual.
He noticed Jabida and motioned him to come closer. He felt a sense of discomfort.
"Why do you call me at such an hour?" He asked.
Usami turned to him. He looked intently into inquiring face and quickly turned back to the moon.
"The Anti Megumi squad has been disbanded" he said.
"Huh, then are we to allow him free rein over whatever he wishes to do. And this thing you could have told me even during the office hours?" He asked
"Yuji Itadori will kill Megumi" he said swiftly.
Jabida was surprised upon hearing it. But rather than questioning him any further. He stood silently and kept looking at Usami.
"What don't you have anything to ask?" Usami said with a wry smile.
"As a matter of fact I do" Jabida prepared himself "You told the headquarters that Gojo Satoru eye has been secured. But when I looked into the security footage of that area, clearly Megumi's group had taken away the jar. So why did you lie?"
"Gojo's eye is secured at Jujutsu High. What they took away were actually Yuta Okkotsu's eye" Usami told him.
"But why, why did you let them take a part of a special grade sorcerer" Jabida was almost shouting at him.
"Hear me out Jabida. What I think they are about to do is revive Gojo Satorou. They would feed that eye to someone. A Seance user will be there to do the whole ritual. Though I don't know how are they to maintain a perpetual longevity of Gojo Satorou in another human body. But with this I hope that their plans are foiled" Usami spoke.
"You still haven't grasped the problem, have you? Haven't you read the records. Okkotsu had enough curse energy to destroy half of Japan in six days. If they managed to bring him to life, we are still doomed" Jabida cried out.
"That won't be the case, for the Rika is in our possession. Without Rika, he won't have access to his copy technique nor to his domain expansion. Also his curse energy reserves will only be half of what it used to be. First we will try to reason with him, if it fails we shall secure him" Usami reasoned.
"But even in this I still see the same shortcomings of their approach" Usami concluded.
Whatever Usami spoke did make sense. To keep alive any great sorcerer, an individual having a ridiculous amount of curse energy reserves would be needed. All throughout Japan there are none such. But even though Usami had explained his theory, Jabida could sense something was missing in it. The missing piece pricked him and he believed that it did the same to Usami even if unconsciously.
"One last thing. What was the alien king doing at the site. What were you two talking about?" Jabida asked.
Usami's face pale and his cheeks sunken. He gave a sigh and said " The aliens have changed sides. All of our sorcerers need to be prepared for war anytime soon"
Upon hearing it Jabida could speak nothing. Perhaps this was the information for which Usami had called him so late.
