For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.
Sienna carefully removed the final restraint from Isaac's wrist and stepped back to observe him. Compared to the first few sessions, the difference was obvious. The violent episodes that usually followed had become shorter and easier to manage. This time, he had regained control much faster than before.
A small smile tugged at her lips; this was progress.
The improvement saved her hours of stress and worry, and despite herself, she felt proud.
Isaac noticed the smile, and his eyes softened.
He had spent the past few days pushing the treatment session because it gave him an excuse to spend time with her. Sienna knew this but had indulged him because he was giving her every reason to smile, laugh, and be genuinely happy.
"I know you want me to stay," Isaac said suddenly.
Sienna looked up.
He was watching her with that infuriatingly confident expression.
