Chapter 52 - Transfer?

"I'm sorry for showing you such an embarrassing thing." Mr. Popo apologized.

"There is nothing embarrassing." Auric shook his head. "You've worked hard, Mr. Geppopo."

Milinda chuckled. "It's Grekcoprophoropoe."

"Ah…" Auric scratched the back of his head. Even his daughter could easily pronounce his name. No, since she was his daughter, it should be natural for her to be able to do it.

"Ah, that's right! I promise you lunch. I should hurry now!" Mr. Popo panicked. He was so shocked earlier that he couldn't think of anything else.

"That's fine, dear. You should stay here. I will buy something." Professor Vienna stopped him. "I shouldn't be here as a professor, since it will create a weird image on campus. So, I should be the one buying things."

"Ah, Professor." Auric wanted to tell her that he would be the one doing it, but Professor Vienna just waved her hand and walked away without waiting for him.

It was just a simple meal, but with the evolution matter solved, the atmosphere had brightened significantly.

They didn't talk too much because they had spent so much time celebrating Milinda's evolution.

In the end, the busy period had returned.

Auric returned to the evolution chamber, helping people one after another.

In the end, Milinda helped him take care of the store. Professor Vienna wanted to join, but she ended up leaving since it would create a huge misunderstanding that might trouble Auric if a professor of the university ended up helping at a student's store.

However, Professor Vienna was passing by from time to time, checking Auric's techniques.

Although she couldn't see everything, it was enough to confirm that Auric's skills were better than those of second-year students or even third-year students.

After treating so many people, Auric's mastery and understanding had increased significantly.

As a result, his treatments became smoother. Professor Vienna could still pick up a few things that needed improvement, but it wasn't like he did anything wrong. So, she just let Auric get more experience to solve those problems.

While watching Auric's treatments, Milinda whispered, "Papa, should I transfer to the Grand Magica College? He has done a lot for me, so I'm thinking about repaying him."

Mr. Popo furrowed his brows. "What do you mean?"

"I'm thinking about protecting him there. In addition, as an evolution master, he is probably going to open a store or a service on campus, right? I can help him to stop any troublemaker. If he wants to open this store during the weekdays, I can help as well. Besides, working with an evolution master who can solve my future problems is good, right?"

Mr. Popo couldn't deny her reasons. She could indeed help him during the weekdays.

He thought about repaying Auric, but he didn't know how. Auric was the first unique element evolution master. There were plenty of people who wanted to undergo evolution.

If Auric demanded a very high price, a lot of people wouldn't mind paying it.

"Besides, if I transfer to the Grand Magica College, can't all of us live together again?"

"That's a very good idea," replied Mr. Popo right away.

Milinda chuckled. "Well, what do you think?"

"Hmm…" Mr. Popo was thinking hard.

"How about this? Papa can help him during the weekends. According to Mom, he is a student from the Element Department, right? Won't it be good to have extra lessons from you?"

"I see. That is also true. We can repay him gradually like this, as well as securing your spot for your next evolution." Mr. Popo nodded in understanding. This might not be a bad proposal. "But is that all? You surely don't have any thoughts about him, right?"

"Well…" Milinda looked away.

"With a face like that, he must be very popular." Mr. Popo shrugged. "In any case, I don't think there's any problem with you transferring to the Grand Magica College. How about Mama? Have you asked her opinion?"

"Yes. Mama has given me permission. She will pull some strings, and since a new semester has just started, it should be easy to get approved."

"I see." Mr. Popo thought for a moment. "I think this is a good time to change my position as well. I have been at the very front because I want to directly interact with people, but with this, I can move to a more relaxed position."

Even though he was asking for a relaxed position, he definitely wanted something that earns more. In addition, this relaxed position only requires him to work from Monday to Friday, allowing him to have time on the weekends.

It was perfect for his next step, so Mr. Popo nodded. "Sure. We can do that. If there's anything you need, just tell me about it. Mama and I will help you."

"I'm sure you will." Milinda smiled.

Time passed by, and Auric was utterly exhausted. Even though he still had energy in his body, helping people non-stop was extremely exhausting, not to mention that they also wanted a lot of things, such as a handshake, a photo, and other small things.

Auric didn't really reject it because it was also publicity for his store.

Besides, his skills had allowed him to treat each person faster. He believed he could shorten the time even further by improving his skills, so what he needed was definitely more people to treat.

Nevertheless, the day ended peacefully. Once Auric closed down the store, Mr. Popo asked, "Let me treat you. I haven't been able to thank you for helping my daughter, so please don't reject me."

Auric thought for a moment. Since the meaning of this treat was a thankful gesture, he didn't have to worry about owing someone.

His father had told him not to agree with anyone who wanted to treat him lightly because they would request something absurd during it.

So Auric accepted it.

Mr. Popo brought him to the most expensive restaurant in town.

"This is usually where most of my clients have their dinner. Pretty fancy, isn't it?" Mr. Popo chuckled.

"Well… I don't even know if I have the table manners for this place." Auric looked around.

"As long as you don't mess up too badly, you're good. You're good-looking anyway, so people will probably not mind it too much unless you're eating like a barbarian." Mr. Popo shrugged.

"That's true." Milinda chuckled.

"By the way, Student Auric. Have you registered your wind element in the Evolution Association?"

"No." Auric shook his head. He had just revealed it on Friday, and he was busy with the store on the weekend. He didn't have time to register it.

It wasn't like there was any necessity to register it.

"Let me help you with the registration. Just having two identification cards will be quite useful for you." Professor Vienna raised one finger. "You will become a special master."

"Well, it's not like I can pull out both cards at the same time. People will think I'm a quack if they don't know me."

"That's… I can't deny." Professor Vienna smiled wryly. "Still, I understand that you want to hide 'that' identity, but you should register the wind element."

"I understand. When I have time, I will make a schedule to go there."

"With your skills, you can become an even better evolution master. Once people from the Evolution Association know about your two elements, they will most likely come to you."

"I know." Auric nodded carefully. "That's why I plan to make the schedule myself so that it won't cause a big scene."

He still remembered that he had gotten the contact of the plant evolution master from before. He could ask him to arrange a meeting as well, considering he was directly affiliated with the Evolution Association.

"It's good that you already know what needs to be done. Seeing your skills, I don't think there is anything we can teach you anymore." Professor Vienna smiled wryly. "Maybe I should ask you to become an assistant professor instead?"

"I'm flattered that you think of me that highly. I'm but a mere student. It's my duty to study, so I'll still take the classes unless you kick me out of class." Auric shook his head.

He might have grasped some high-level techniques, but he really hadn't learned much about the basics as an evolution master.

His special eyes and sensitivity had allowed him to use all those techniques. But it would be good if he could learn more about the basics. Deepening his knowledge might also help with his skills.

So Auric wanted to stay as a student. He also indirectly implied that he didn't like to teach other people, not because he was not qualified to become one, but because he really didn't have much knowledge to teach others.

Professor Vienna didn't know it, but this subtle message would be a good way to warn the other professors, who might be eager for him to demonstrate his skills, to back off.

They had desperately wanted to know what Auric was thinking and how to pull him to their side, so this one clue would be extremely useful.

"That's right. I want to ask you. Are you planning to open your service on campus? Looking at the number of customers you got today, I believe you will be quite popular there."

"I'm not sure as well. Aren't there plenty of evolution masters already? Wouldn't adding one be the same?" Auric asked. He didn't know about the market, so he was trying to figure out whether he should open one or not in exchange for points.

"Not at all. Do you know how many evolution masters are among the second-year students?" Professor Vienna raised one finger. "There are only ten evolution masters. Among the third-year students? Fifteen. The fourth-year students? There should be twenty-five, if I recall correctly. So, only forty, forty-one, if we include you."

"It's a very low number…" Auric squinted his eyes.

"It's already pretty high. The Grand Magica College receives about 800 students a year. Among them, only about 70 people come to the Evolution Department.

"It's not even 10%. And among them, those who can keep up with their studies while honing their combat technique are even fewer, not accounting for the people who can officially become an evolution master."

Auric thought for a moment. "But how many of them took the previous examination?"

"Probably one. Most students would take the exam in the second half of their semester. They need to increase their skills first."

"I see." Auric contemplated. In that case, there were over three thousand people who could receive treatment.

Most evolution masters on campus must be bronze grade, so Auric thought becoming a silver-grade master might be a good idea.

Still, to know the market, he might have to go there personally. Besides, Maya should have finished exchanging his reward from materials into training room usage, so he should definitely visit the exchange center and the training center, which shouldn't be too far from one another.

Auric nodded. "In that case, I will take a look at the exchange center once I'm done with class tomorrow."

"That will be good." Professor Vienna was satisfied with the answer.

Milinda wanted to say she was going to transfer to the Grand Magica College, but she chose to keep it a secret until she arrived. After all, it wasn't like she could just transfer right away.

Even if she received Professor Vienna's help, she could only come as early as next week. So, there was no reason to tell him, since she couldn't help Auric right away.

"Anyway, why don't we put this difficult talk behind us and enjoy the food?" Mr. Popo stopped them as the food had arrived.

Auric enjoyed the food. He didn't know how much he could appreciate every little thing in his life. As he treated more and more patients, he might end up getting so accustomed that his emotions would become numb.
