The eyeless Basilisk opened its cavernous maw and let out an ear-splitting shriek. Fortunately, the Somerset countryside was completely isolated; if a Muggle had spotted a beast like this, the Statute of Secrecy would be instantly shattered.
The monstrosity flicked out its forked tongue, tasting the thermal currents in the air. A heartbeat later, it lunged straight for Damian, bearing venomous fangs taller than a grown man.
Despite its titanic bulk, the creature's speed was terrifying. It struck faster than Damian's Invisible Hand could carry him away in flight.
Left with no other option, Damian grabbed the unconscious Eureka Asghar and instantly Apparated. With a sharp crack of twisting space, the pair vanished from the creature's path.
A split second later, the air warped behind the Basilisk's massive head, and the two figures popped back into existence.
However, hauling another person made the hasty Apparition slightly sloppy. A jagged spatial tear sliced open Eureka's right arm, though the deep cut wasn't enough to wake the unconscious goblin.
The Basilisk snapped at empty air, furiously tasting the wind again to track their heat signatures. Damian swiftly flicked his wand, utilizing advanced Transfiguration to turn the surrounding patches of grass into roaring pillars of flame.
The eyeless beast simply smashed the mundane fire aside with its heavy scales, snuffing it out before it could spread. Realizing the blind creature strictly tracked heat, Damian loosed wave after wave of massive-scale Transfiguration, turning the entire dried riverbed into a burning sea of fire.
The overwhelming ambient heat confused the Basilisk, completely masking Damian's thermal scent. However, the mundane fire barely scratched the creature's highly magic-resistant hide, leaving absolutely no scorch marks.
"Fiendfyre," Damian incanted coldly. A terrifying, golden blaze erupted from his wand.
Through combining Voldemort's original theories, his own out-of-world fire magic, and Dumbledore's Transfiguration notes, Damian had achieved absolute dominance over the cursed flames. He tapped the air with his wand, instantly shaping the cursed fire into a massive, solid construct of a giant Zouwu.
With a precise flick of his wand, the golden Zouwu struck. The eyeless Basilisk sensed the impossibly hot, moving flames and hurled its massive body forward to crush the threat.
The colossal beasts collided, but the Fiendfyre possessed no true physical body and scattered harmlessly over the serpent's scales. Instantly, Damian commanded the scattered flames to re-form around the Basilisk, coiling tightly around its neck.
A furious, agonized hiss tore from its throat as the cursed fire finally bypassed its magic resistance, charring heavy scales and searing deep into the meat beneath.
The Basilisk thrashed wildly, desperately trying to shake the flames. Its violent convulsions shook the ground like a localized earthquake, nearly toppling Damian.
Shockingly, the monster's latent regenerative abilities allowed it to heal almost as fast as it burned. Its staggering magic resistance constantly fought off the dark magic, causing the Fiendfyre to gutter and slowly die out.
Just as Damian raised his wand to unleash another wave of cursed fire, the sky rapidly dimmed, and lightning began to dance among the gathering clouds. A sudden, powerful rush of wings filled the air.
In a heartbeat, Luna swooped in on the back of her Thunderbird, Puff Puff. "Damian—are you all right?" she called out, having heard the commotion and flown straight over from the orchard.
"I'm fine, but Eureka is hurt," Damian said, pointing at the bleeding, unconscious goblin.
Puff Puff's keen eyes never left the thrashing Basilisk; the moment the massive bird landed, its throat rumbled like a jet engine, its tail twitching with barely restrained magical power.
Damian glanced up at the rapidly darkening sky. "Puff Puff changed the weather?"
Luna gently stroked the bird's electrified feathers. "When a Thunderbird's emotions surge, the sky answers. Every beat of their wings can birth black clouds and lightning."
Damian's eyes lit up with a lethal strategy. "Puff Puff, can you brew a wilder, larger thunderstorm for me?" he asked.
The Thunderbird studied the Basilisk, then let out a sharp cry and nodded. With a powerful leap, Puff Puff lifted off and vanished into the churning black clouds, rapidly accelerating the storm's intensity.
Once the bird was airborne, Damian found Luna watching him, genuine worry shining in her pale eyes.
"Don't fret—I've got this," Damian smiled confidently.
"Then I'll get Eureka out of your way," Luna replied, knowing she would only hinder him in a battle of this scale.
Using Runic Magic, Damian mentally constructed the 16 Runic Scripts for the Invisible Hand to carefully lift Luna and the unconscious goblin. He carried them safely beyond the storm's immediate reach, then expertly transfigured the earth into a solid brass Faraday cage to shield them from stray lightning.
With them secure, Damian turned back to finish the enraged Basilisk. Moments later, the entire sky turned pitch black. The air grew thick and heavy as thunder rumbled ominously overhead.
Damian raised his wand, using it as a strange physical conduit for Runic magic. In his Sea of Spirit, he actively spent 15 seconds mentally constructing the 80 precise Runic Scripts required for the Great Lightning Summoning, a devastating Second-Order spell.
With the spell model fully formed, Damian thrust his wand aloft. Because he was casting the spell during a natural thunderstorm created by Puff Puff, the Great Lightning Summoning's power ceiling scaled infinitely.
A deafening crack shattered the air, and massive bolts of white-hot, raw lightning lanced down from the sky. As though a dam had burst, a massive, hard-to-control area of effect poured endless lightning down upon the eyeless monster.
A shrill hiss tore from the Basilisk's throat as every concentrated strike left a charred crater, instantly cauterizing the flesh without spilling a single drop of blood. Damian ruthlessly aimed the continuous bombardment directly at the Basilisk's weakest point: the base of its skull, severing its central nervous system.
At last, the colossal beast collapsed into the dirt, its body twitching only from residual nerve endings firing.
The eyeless Basilisk was dead, its impossibly tough hide completely overwhelmed by the infinite, sky-shattering power of Damian's Runic magic.
