Chapter 53 -  What About the Grand Priest?

"Is his name actually Grand Priest?" Bulma blinked her intelligent blue eyes, quickly noticing Broly's unusual reaction and cautiously asking.

"Maybe," Broly nodded, his expression still serious.

"That name sounds like some kind of fortune-telling fraud," Master Roshi muttered quietly beside them.

"Yeah…" Bulma agreed, frowning slightly.

"That doesn't sound like a normal person's name."

"Broly, what's wrong with that person? Why did you suddenly ask about him?" Launch asked, completely confused by Broly's unusually tense expression.

"I don't know… it feels like something coming from my subconscious," Broly said while scratching his messy black hair irritably, trying to organize the chaotic thoughts in his mind.

"Or maybe… a strong impulse."

"What impulse?" Bulma asked immediately, curiosity getting the better of her.

Broly rubbed his sharp chin. A faint flash of sharp light appeared in his dark eyes before he spoke slowly, sounding both puzzled and strangely certain.

"The impulse… is to pin that person to the ground and beat him up."

After saying that, Broly stuffed the potato chip he had been holding into his mouth and chewed loudly, as if venting the sudden frustration.

"Pff—!" Bulma nearly choked on her own saliva.

She imagined the scene and found it completely ridiculous.

"Could it be your parents?" she said half-seriously.

"Maybe they left you some kind of psychological trauma… or maybe they abandoned you or something…"

Even she felt the guess sounded overly dramatic and quietly wiped imaginary sweat from her forehead.

Roshi rolled his eyes at Bulma.

Your imagination is way too wild.

Broly beating his own parents senseless?

That makes no sense at all.

Roshi silently complained to himself.

"I don't know," Broly said simply, shaking his head.

His usual lazy demeanor returned, though a trace of confusion still lingered deep in his eyes.

"Forget it. That name just suddenly popped into my head along with that strange feeling… I'll think about it later."

Broly wasn't someone who liked dwelling on things he couldn't figure out.

So after saying that, he truly stopped thinking about the mysterious "Grand Priest," picked up the bag of chips again, and resumed eating as if nothing had happened.

The brief seriousness from moments ago vanished completely.

Well… I'll think about it when I remember more.

It feels like some memories are sealed… for some reason I just can't recall them.

Roshi, Bulma, and Launch exchanged glances.

They all looked at Broly, who had already returned to his relaxed state, feeling that the mysteries surrounding him were only increasing.

But since he clearly didn't want to talk about it, they didn't press further. They simply remembered the strange name "Grand Priest" silently in their minds.

Soon, everyone's attention returned to the arena.

At this moment, Son Goku had already taken off the orange T-shirt on his upper body, revealing his well-built, muscular physique.

He casually rolled the shirt into a ball and lightly tossed it onto the arena floor.

CLANG!

However, the moment the shirt touched the ground, instead of a soft fabric sound, it produced a heavy metallic clang—as if a solid block of metal had hit the floor.

The sound was extremely out of place and instantly caught everyone's attention.

Tien Shinhan, who had been closely observing Goku's actions, stiffened slightly. All three of his eyes widened in disbelief.

"Goku… can I take a look at that shirt?" Tien asked, stepping forward immediately, curiosity clear in his voice.

"Sure," Goku said casually, nodding as if it were nothing special.

Tien bent down and reached for the seemingly ordinary shirt.

But the moment his fingers grasped the fabric and he tried to lift it, the muscles in his arm suddenly tensed.

An enormous weight—far beyond his expectations—transferred through his arm.

"What?!" Tien exclaimed in shock.

He had to use considerable strength just to lift the shirt steadily.

Weighing it in his hand, the disbelief on Tien's face only grew stronger.

This was definitely not normal clothing.

"What's going on with that shirt?" Bulma asked from the audience, leaning forward with confusion.

"It looks like a normal training outfit."

"It seems really heavy," Broly replied while chewing chips, relying on his sharp instincts.

At the same time, his gaze shifted toward the shirt with slight interest.

"Goku… have you been fighting the entire match wearing clothes like this?" Tien asked, looking up at him in astonishment.

"Yeah!" Goku nodded as if it were completely natural.

While speaking, he began removing the white wristbands on his arms.

"Kami said this is also a form of training."

CLANG!

Another heavy metallic sound echoed.

The wristbands landed on the arena floor, cracking the solid stone tiles beneath them and sending tiny fragments flying.

Tien inhaled sharply. His pupils shrank.

Those wristbands were incredibly heavy too.

"When I trained with Grandpa Roshi before, I also carried a turtle shell on my back," Goku said casually while bending down to remove his shoes.

"It's basically the same principle."

"Shoes… wristbands…" Tien stared at the three heavy objects on the ground and then looked back at Goku, who was casually stretching his arms and legs.

A powerful shock ran through him.

Tien had believed that after years of intense training he had greatly narrowed the gap between himself and Goku—perhaps even surpassed him.

But he had never imagined that Goku had been fighting the entire time while wearing such heavy restraints.

Just then—

"Hey, what's going on? I'll help clean up!" Krillin, unable to suppress his curiosity, ran onto the arena with quick steps.

Grinning, he bent down and reached for one of Goku's shoes.

"Krillin, be careful. They're really heavy," Goku warned kindly.
