Veronica's POV
Rollings House - late at night
I woke up seeing he wasn't sleeping beside me.
It had been a week since Jonathan annulled his marriage to Imelda.
I thought maybe he was still worried, after all she still was nowhere to be found.
But I found him in the study handling the River vault dispute, the legal accusations surrounding the vault and the business responsibilities.
I realized even if he's at home, his focus remains fixed on his phone and the documents Vance or John send him.
He was actually carrying the responsibilities alone.
At first I wanted to ask if I could help.
But then I decided I would step up and be part of his team.
I was worried his exhaustion would consume him.
That's why it was important he knew I was there beside him and he didn't have to fight alone.
I left and waited for the morning.
Finally, the morning rose.
At the dining table
"Jonathan, I won't let you deal with all this alone." I said to him frankly.
"Veronica—"
