Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Fancy

It's been a few minutes since Nobles equalised, the score is 1‑1," Decent said, his voice brimming with tension.

"Oh yes, Decent, Kings have been under pressure for a while now. Nobles just aren't letting them breathe," Shakes replied.

"We've reached the 90th minute, and six minutes have been added. I haven't seen such an entertaining match in a long time, Shakes and we've seen plenty from this commentary box," Decent added.

"Martinez picks it up in midfield, slides it to Peter Sarr, who returns it to Max. Bob and Mathiba push forward alongside him," Shakes narrated.

"Mathiba and Martinez… they've been quiet all game. Their young teammate has been covering their work, and honestly, it's unacceptable," Decent pointed out.

Max drove into Kings' half, linking with Martinez and Sarr. The back two surged forward, leaving no defender behind. Together, Max, Martinez, and Sarr formed a triangle, exchanging crisp passes that pulled Kings' two defensive midfielders out of shape. The ball rotated quickly, forcing the opposition to chase shadows.

Du Praise angrily muttered, "Man, I hate this! At this point these losers will cost us the game," as he stayed forward, waiting for a chance to counter that seemed unlikely to come.

Max found Matlala wide, who looked for Ramothwala narrowing into the half space, but Kings FC's defensive midfielder intercepted.

Du Praise burst forward. "Finally! No defender at the back. None of them can ever hope to catch me… Make sure you send a good pass or you're dead, loser," he muttered.

The defender launched it long. The ball dropped in the centre of the field, where Du Praise pounced, exploding forward with pace.

"Nobles… you're finished. I'm going to destroy you. Haha, what's a noble to a king?" he grinned, surging toward goal.

"No! No! Nooooo!" Coach Anderson shouted, hands on his head, knees sinking to the ground.

"First thirty metres, huh," Jaden muttered calmly.

"Where's the defense?" Decent cried from the commentary box.

"This is what happens when you push men forward," Shakes replied.

From wide in Kings' half, a Nobles FC player suddenly accelerated with blistering pace. He tracked back across the field, leaving teammates and opponents behind, closing the gap on Du Praise as he neared the box.

"One on one with the goalkeeper… hah, this will be like last time," Du Praise muttered, until he felt contact on his shoulder. He turned his head sharply. "What the, when did he get here!"

Happy Khosa, slim but relentless, shielded him off balance and forced him to the ground.

Du Praise rolled as Happy snatched the ball cleanly and passed it back to keeper Willies.

"Khosa in the first thirty is unbeatable. Now why would I ever start a slow winger?" Jaden chuckled, muttering to himself.

"He caught up to him…" Coach Anderson whispered, still on his knees, staring at Jaden in disbelief. His voice trembled as realization struck. "So… he was your plan, for Du Praise's speed…"

Du Praise slowly stood up, muttering under his breath. "This guy… I never noticed him at all. He's not a sub, has he been on the field the whole time? And how did he catch up to me? I'm the fastest player in this damn league!" He kicked at the grass in frustration, anger boiling over.

"One minute left, Decent. What a match this has been," Shakes said, his voice trembling with excitement.

Jeremy had dropped deep from the opposition's penalty box just as Willies prepared to launch a long ball in the closing minute.

Willies sent it high into Kings FC's half, finding Jeremy Bolt, the target man. Jeremy rose and headed it down toward Max, who had pushed into the space Jeremy left behind.

With his back to goal, Max controlled the ball on his chest. It popped up slightly, and in one fluid motion he launched into a bicycle kick. The ball flew toward the left side of the net. The goalkeeper, screened by his own defender, never saw it coming…

Its a goal and the ref blew for fulltime

"Oh What a beauty Shakes, I certainly didn't have the guts to do that back in the day" Decent said

"Huh no, I'm lost for words... Brilliant goals today, I can't even pick was the best" Shakes replied

"And top of that its fulltime, Nobles are going to the Semi final!" Shakes said

The stadium was silent, because of the home fans, away fans kept on cheering, Coach Anderson couldnt hold himself, hugging Jaden, filled with excitment

He curled the ball toward the top right corner. It bent perfectly, nestling into the net.

"Oh, sensational! It's a hat‑trick! He simply cannot be stopped, he's in top form!" the commentator exclaimed.

"They say his right foot has been kissed by the divine… You know what, I'm starting to believe it," another commentator added.
