The emergency room doors burst open.Doctors and nurses rushed Rafael Romano down the brightly lit hospital corridor while machines beeped around him. Blood stained the white sheets covering his body. The wound on his head had already soaked through several layers of bandages.
"Move!"
"Clear the hallway!"
"Prepare the operating room!"
Everything happened so fast.
One moment Aria was holding Rafael's hand inside the ambulance.
The next, he was disappearing behind hospital doors.
"Rafael!"
Her voice broke as she tried to follow.A nurse gently stopped her.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. You can't go inside."
Aria froze.The operating room doors closed.And just like that...He was gone.For the first time since Daniel kidnapped her...Aria felt completely helpless.
