Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: Compensation

After refining the God Tree, Qiu Xia planted the first one within his own Small World. Then, using Source Power, he prompted the tree to condense a new seed, which he planted at his usual place of secluded meditation and accelerated its growth.

With the God Tree serving as the Array Core, the barrier surrounding the Land of Demons was strengthened once more, further enhancing its ability to draw in spiritual energy and the Three Lights of Sun, Moon, and Stars.

Once he finished his business there, Qiu Xia initiated a world crossing to see how the One Piece World was faring. He had assumed that after only six months of upgrading his cultivation technique, the changes wouldn't be too drastic. However, upon returning to the One Piece World, he was stunned.

The island where he had been slumbering before his departureonce a deserted but lush place teeming with lifehad been reduced to a scorched, blackened wasteland. The soil was devoid of any vitality. Based on Qiu Xia's observations, it looked as though it had been pulverized by high-intensity fire bombardment.

Troubled by the sight, he traveled to other locations, only to find the same devastation. Burn marks were everywhere; unscarred land was incredibly rare, limited mostly to the small island he had originally constructed and a few surrounding areas.

Returning to his island, Qiu Xia found that most of the orphans he had once taken in had died of old age, save for a few. From their accounts, he learned what had transpired during his absence.

"Holy Kaisa, Morgana... well done, both of you. Very well done indeed," Qiu Xia muttered. "Was it my mistake? If I hadn't left so many Zombie Transformation Pills, perhaps the One Piece World wouldn't have ended up like this. No, that's only part of it. It wasn't entirely my fault. Even if I hadn't turned them into zombies, there was still Morgana; her Demon Gene couldn't even compare to a zombie."

Now that he understood the situation, it was time to clean up the mess left behind. After gathering materials from across the world, Qiu Xia began refining array flags. This time, he intended to set up a planetary-scale array. For an ordinary person, even with the ability, such a task would take an eternity.

But Qiu Xia was different. With the Sun, Moon, and Stars providing him with the Three Lights, his mana was inexhaustible. His Hundred Refinements of the Divine Machine allowed him to forge items at incredible speeds, and with his ability to create clones, he produced massive batches of array flags in record time.

Soon, the scorched islands, the seabed, the depths of the magma, and the very sky were filled with his flags. He then planted a God Tree seed in the seabed just off his island to serve as the heart of the formation.

First, he poured a massive amount of Source Power into the seed to force its growth. Once the tree had surged thousands of meters up from the seabed, Qiu Xia began devouring sunlight at full capacity, channeling immense mana into the array.

As his power surged through the formation, the array activated. Barriers began to rise one by one, expanding and interlocking.

Two weeks later, the super barrier had reached the planet's atmosphere. A month later, the barrier manifested outside the planet itself, enveloping the entire world in a protective shield.

Once the barrier was established, it began to swallow energy from the cosmos and the stars, funneling it into the One Piece World. Under this massive influx of energy, the scorched, lifeless islands began to bloom with new life.

Though the world's recovery was accelerating, Qiu Xia was not entirely satisfied with the pace. Over the following months, he used the vast amount of Source Power he had accumulated to create eight more God Tree seeds.

He planted four in the sky and one in each of the cardinal directionsNorth, South, East, and Westof the continent. With the first tree as the core, the nine God Trees worked in unison to transform energy.

Initially, Qiu Xia had planned to pour all his Source Power into the One Piece World to atone for his perceived debt. However, even after the nine God Trees had been stimulated to produce a vast quantity of Ability Fruits, his Source Power remained abundantit was actually increasing.

Left with no other choice, Qiu Xia decided to upgrade his cultivation technique, hoping the starlight produced during the breakthrough would further compensate the world.

And so, Qiu Xia remained in that world for a full year. Between his massive infusions of Source Power and the starlight from his technique upgrades, the One Piece World was reborn. The Sky Islands, the continents, and the seabed were covered in flora. The environment was ten thousand times more beautiful than it had been before he first arrived. The only thing missing was a human population.

However, humans and other living creatures still existed on the planet. As time passed, they would give rise to a new civilizationone far more powerful than the last.

"I've done everything I can," Qiu Xia sighed. "The population will grow back in time. I've added this array to protect you and allow you to grow even further. My debt to you is paid. The rest is between me and those two women, Holy Kaisa and Morgana."

After a year of terraforming the One Piece World, Qiu Xia returned to the Naruto World. Fortunately, despite the passage of a year, his base was still stable. Feeling he should do something for his headquarters, he gathered materials just as he had in the other world and set up an identical grand array.

The appearance of the unknown barrier caused widespread panic among the people of the shinobi world. But despite their fear, they were helpless; their strength and Qiu Xia's were simply in different dimensions.

Since the Naruto World required no restoration, the barrier was completed quickly. Once the one-month cooldown ended, Qiu Xia set off for the Vampire World.

Upon arriving in the Vampire World, he emerged at the cave where the zombies had once slumbered. He hadn't walked far when a thick layer of tribulation clouds gathered above his head. Simultaneously, a message flickered in his mind.

Qiu Xia's strength had reached the Human Immortal Realm. He had to face the Heavenly Tribulation. Surmount the Immortal Tribulation, and he would become an immortal; fail, and he would perish.

The news didn't inspire fear; rather, it made him laugh. To other cultivators, an Immortal Tribulation was a life-threatening crisis. To Qiu Xia, it was merely food for growth. Before the first bolt could even fall, he shot straight into the heart of the storm.

The Tribulation Cloud was stunned: Holy crap! This kid actually delivered himself to my doorstep? I'll refine him into dust! Wait... why can't I refine him? And he's devouring my lightning energy! Is he a bottomless pit? How can he swallow so much? All my energy is being drained!

The energy storage and devouring capacity of Qiu Xia's cultivation technique were immense. Though the tribulation cloud held vast power, it didn't even reach his limit. In no time at all, he had swallowed the clouds whole. As the storm vanished, a beam of immortal light bathed Qiu Xia. His immortal body, which had been 99.9% complete, finally reached a perfect 100%.

The aura of an immortal radiated from him. Every top-tier expert across the Divine Land sensed that a new immortal had ascended, including a beautiful woman dressed in white with long, flowing hair.

"It's that bastard's aura," she hissed. "That bastard actually became an immortal. Just you wait. You'd better be able to change me back. If you can't, I'll turn you into a zombie and then slay you myself!"
