Scene One
In a dim corridor carved with profane Chaos symbols, a breathtaking blonde beauty with blue eyes cut down one fallen foe after another with a silver holy lance in hand.
She was like light banishing the night itself, a saint sent down by the heavens to show lost believers the way.
True, the outfit that looked suspiciously like a blue high-cut swimsuit gave her an undeniably… alluring air.
But that did not matter. She was sacred, and she was humanity's protector.
She leveled the lance at a Chaos Terminator Astartes whose spine had already been broken and began her interrogation.
Saber: "Answer me, heretic. I have slain every enemy here, so why does the curse remain?"
Chaos Terminator: "Are you mocking me, my lady? You wiped out my entire force in three seconds flat. Me included."
He looked at her in speechless disbelief, then let his gaze settle on the two enormous burdens on her chest. The answer was obvious.
Chaos Terminator: "There is no curse, my lady. You've simply… grown up."
Saber: "What do you mean? Bruce, what is he talking about?"
The girl turned, lost and uneasy, toward the companion standing behind her.
At that moment, the choices appeared.
Option 1: Hold her and comfort her.
Option 2: Tell her the truth.
Option 3: [Custom]
Scene Two
Facing a planet that gave no response at all, Saber's expression grew grim. The planetary orbital cannons had even locked onto her flagship, which could only mean one thing: the world below had most likely descended into civil war.
Luther? Is he trying to betray me?
Is this truly my fate?
Saber: "Return fire! Follow me and slay the traitors!"
After issuing the order, Saber turned away, utterly dejected. The word vulnerable seemed written all over her. For the first time, the mighty Lion showed the most helpless side of herself.
Saber: "So this is how it ends again…"
Saber: "Bruce… as the king of Caliban, am I… truly such a failure?"
The choices appeared once more.
Option 1: Step forward, embrace her, and promise to stay by her side until the very end.
Option 2: Leave in disappointment and say, "O King, you do not understand the hearts of men."
Option 3: [Custom]
Scene Three
(This part got banned, so it had to be rewritten.)
In a private room, a blonde girl and a blue-haired girl knelt on the bed. The fragrance of chicken wraps filled the air. It was Thursday, a day once regarded in ancient Terra as sacred and meaningful.
The girls stared hungrily at the chicken wrap, eager to enjoy Thursday's madness.
And afterward, there was still fifty bucks to be had.
Remilia: "Big Brother, you really are… shameless."
Saber: "As a king, I am also a woman. I will satisfy Bruce. So… can you send me fifty?"
Remilia: "Heh heh heh. Bruce, I'm your mother, aren't I?"
Saber: "Bruce, I'm your most trusted comrade, aren't I?"
Remilia & Saber: "Which one will you choose?"
The choices appeared yet again.
Option 1: Send Remilia 50.
Option 2: Send Saber 50.
Option 3: [Custom]
This is impossible to choose…
Crowded together in front of the screen, Bruce found it extremely difficult to make any kind of fair judgment about these scenes, because whatever he chose would affect Lion's future memories and personality.
Gah! It's already been this long, so why won't Lion accept reality already?
She would rather endure memory after memory being stuffed into her head than accept that the Imperium of Man would fall into civil war and the Emperor would end up seated upon the Golden Throne?
What in the world are you thinking, Hashiki Lion?
"…"
Held in Sevatar's arms, Curze silently watched everything unfolding before her.
Oh? So this was what they had been hiding here doing instead of paying attention to me all this time—playing some absurd game like this.
She had only just arrived, intending to check on Bruce's condition. Instead, she was greeted by a thunderbolt of an opening scene.
W-What is this? Why is something this profane happening? And why am I in it?
So then the real question is… what will the new recruit choose?
"Old Wang, Memory Sequence No. 1226481 needs a choice!" Doraemon called out after processing several more Great Crusade-related memory fragments.
"Shut up, I'm thinking!" Bruce snapped, staring in agony at the choice between shooting at the Young Lady or shooting at the Knight King.
After all, there was only one chicken wrap, and the sauce inside was limited too…
Should I just use the custom option and let them both eat their fill? I, Bruce, am not so poor that I can't afford a few chicken wraps.
But no, I can't do that. That would introduce inconsistencies into the memory sequence.
Sigh. I'm a kind man. I can't bear to see a kid getting shot. Better pick Saber—she's older.
Smack—!
Just as Bruce reached out to press Option 2, an impossibly fast straight punch slammed into him. Encased in power armor, he shot straight into the air, spinning upward until he hit the ceiling before crashing back down.
"New recruit! What exactly are you messing with?!"
Fuming, Curze strode up to the Bruce who had gone still and seized him by the armor at the collar where the helmet connected. Then she slammed her forehead into his with a thunderous crack, knocking him half-conscious and sending a wave of terror through him.
"F-Father? Why?!" Bruce stared blankly at Curze, who had come to demand answers.
"Not even my actual dad ever hit me like that!"
"Well, now you've got one who does!"
"What in the world are you two doing?!" Curze raised her fist and demanded again.
"O-Of course we're implanting memories into Lion so she'll accept what's going to happen in the future!" Bruce answered, his skull still ringing.
"You think I'm a three-year-old?"
Dragging Bruce to the main console, Curze jabbed a finger at the wall of screens, at least a third of which displayed wildly inappropriate material, and began grilling him mercilessly.
"And you call this implanting future memories into Lion?"
"No matter what else he is, my big brother is still my brother!"
Curze was so furious she nearly smashed Bruce's skull clean through. If not for the fact that Bruce was an unusually special Astartes to her, anyone else who dared humiliate her brother like this would already have been dead.
She could accept Lion being killed. She could accept Lion being tortured. But she absolutely could not accept this kind of humiliation.
"I-It's a misunderstanding!"
Bruce hurriedly tried to explain both his own and Doraemon's actions.
"What you're seeing is part of weakening the Lion's ego and reinforcing her identification as Saber. Only then can she more easily accept the future that awaits her."
"I was forced into this!"
"Hm? If that's the case, then why are you in it? And why do some of these memories involve me too?" Curze demanded, like a cat with its fur standing on end as she pointed at the screen.
The choice between firing at Remilia and firing at Saber was still hanging there brightly.
"Th-That…"
Bruce swallowed.
Because at the beginning, Blue Fatty created a placeholder character for the mental conditioning and emotional softening, but he couldn't find a suitable candidate, so he just uploaded my template."
"And in some of the stories, there has to be a male lead. Otherwise it won't properly reinforce Lion's identity."
"Breaking down psychological defenses is a very complicated process," Doraemon added with a sheepish grin, helping Bruce explain.
Even if Doraemon himself could have played innocent, he knew perfectly well that he and Bruce were tied together now.
If Curze got Bruce, she would get him too. No difference.
"Then why am I in this one too?"
Sevatar picked up the tablet and flipped it around. On the screen was an image of the disheveled maid captain tied to an instrument of punishment, awaiting her fate.
"Uh…"
Bruce swallowed again.
If I say that was just a sudden creative impulse and I dressed Saber in a different outfit, would you believe me?
"Very well."
Curze released Bruce and smiled amiably. A spear formed from blood condensed in her hand.
"I'll give you three minutes to explain everything clearly."
"Otherwise…"
"I'll pass judgment on you myself~"
Bruce shivered.
Her words sounded gentle enough, but for some reason they sent a chill down his spine.
Was this really supposed to count as giving him a chance?
