Chapter 6 - the husband who betrayed my trust

In a grand mansion where silence ruled, conspiracies never stopped.

Riya never imagined her marriage would turn into a cage.

From the very first day, she realized her husband Aarif was never truly hers—his heart belonged somewhere else.

In the household, Aarif constantly belittled her over small things, but the most painful part was how he exaggerated her mistakes in front of everyone.

"This woman doesn't understand anything," Aarif would often say in gatherings.

Slowly, the family started believing she was the problem.

The worst part was that Riya had no support… even her own family stopped trusting her.

But one day… Riya made a decision.

She would no longer stay silent… and the truth that had been buried would finally come out.Riya stood silently. There were no tears in her eyes anymore—only exhaustion, as if defending herself again and again had drained everything inside her.

Everyone in the house was on one side, and in the middle stood Aarif… once again turning his words into "truth."

"I'm not lying," Aarif said loudly. "Riya is responsible for everything. Every time it's her mistake, and every time I stay silent!"

Riya slowly looked at him.

"You think I'm so weak that you can turn me wrong every single time?"

Aarif turned toward her.

"I'm telling the truth in front of everyone, Riya. You always twist things. That's your habit."

Riya's hands turned cold.

"Truth?" she said with a faint, bitter smile. "What you call truth is only your version… not the whole truth."

A strange silence fell across the room.

Riya stepped forward.

"Have you ever thought… if I was really always wrong, you wouldn't need to prove it again and again?"

Aarif's expression hardened.

"So now you're saying I'm lying?"

Riya looked straight into his eyes.

"I'm saying, Aarif… you turn me into the villain every time, just so you can stay safe."

The room shifted. People started looking at each other, confused.

Aarif snapped,

"Enough, Riya! As always, you're playing the victim!"

But this time, Riya didn't step back.

"Victim?" she repeated softly. "Maybe I was… but not anymore."

She adjusted her dupatta and took a small step back.

"Now I won't stay silent, Aarif… because this time, I will write the end of your story."

Aarif stared at her in anger—but this time, Riya didn't look afraid.

There was only one thing in her eyes now.

A decision.

And that decision was enough to shake the entire house.
