Chapter 93: Konoha's Secret Taijutsu Ultimate Technique
Training Ground 3.
Haruko was the last to arrive; his two teammates had already been waiting for a long time.
"Morning, Haruko!"
Inuzuka Hana, leading her three partners, the Gaimaru, greeted Haruko.
Her long black hair was tied in a ponytail, and her face was painted with the Inuzuka clan's markings.
"Morning—" Haruko replied lazily, then looked at the other person.
Waist-length black hair, a tear mole under her eye, wearing a purple high-collared sleeveless tunic—Uchiha Izumi.
"Yo, Izumi, still ali... cough, still healthy?"
"Not bad?" Izumi tilted her head, "Good morning, HaRoko~kun."
Having said his greetings, Haruko strolled over to the shade of a tree and used Earth Release to make three rocking chairs.
"Don't just stand there, come over and rest a bit." Haruko lay directly on a rocking chair, "That guy definitely won't be here within the hour."
"This..." The two girls looked at each other and didn't go over.
Haruko didn't force them, closed his eyes, and thought about this team.
It could be said that this setup practically had the words "free pass" written all over it.
The talented girl of the Inuzuka clan, Inuzuka Hana; Uchiha Izumi, who had already awakened the Three-Tomoe; plus himself, this "Konoha Genin."
The strongest three of the same year gathered together, possessing Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu while also being fully equipped with functional roles like reconnaissance, assault, and medical, topped off with konohas number one technician leading the team.
This all-around lineup with no weaknesses going to the Chunin Exams—saying they were going to smash noobs would be modest; it was simply an absolute curb-stomp.
'No wonder they let Kakashi be the mentor. He knows how to release hounds and has a Sharingan; he's a perfect fit to teach those two..."
"HaRoko~kun..." Izumi walked over, interrupting Haruko's thoughts. "Can I ask you something?"
"Hmm?" Haruko opened one eye.
"Itachi-kun... is there any news of him lately?"
Concern was written on Izumi's face. "I haven't seen him for a long time, and even the clan members can't say for sure where he is."
'That guy should have started working for Brother Chao by now... his little girlfriend is still kept in the dark."
"Not sure," Haruko scratched his head. "I only heard he went on some long-term mission. The specifics weren't revealed, and they won't be."
"I see..." Izumi lowered her head.
"What, miss him?" Haruko teased, "The genius girl who awakened the Three-Tomoe at such a young age is also losing sleep and appetite over a man?"
"I-I am not!" Izumi's face turned red. "I'm just worried about a friend!"
"Yes, yes, worried about a 'friend'." Haruko closed his eyes again. "Don't worry, that guy is much more powerful than you imagine; he'll be fine."
Izumi wanted to ask more, but seeing that Haruko had already closed his eyes, she could only walk back to her spot dejectedly.
Time passed minute by minute, and the sun rose higher and higher.
Izumi and Hana, who were getting impatient, finally couldn't resist the temptation of the rocking chairs and lay down.
The three of them just lay in the shade, enjoying a rare moment of peace.
...
Finally, after being two hours late, that man slowly walked into the training ground.
"Yo, morning everyone—" Kakashi raised a hand in greeting, his gaze sweeping over the three. "Looks like you're all living quite leisurely."
Haruko didn't even open his eyes as he retorted, "Isn't a certain guy who's two hours late even more leisurely?"
"Exactly!" Hana sat up from the rocking chair, and the three Gaimaru barked a few times in protest.
Although Izumi didn't speak, that Byakugan also explained everything.
"Ahaha, I ran into a black cat on the way and took a detour to avoid bad luck..."
Kakashi casually made up an excuse and pulled two bells and a small alarm clock out of his Ninja tool pouch.
"Since everyone is so energetic, let's start today's training."
"Although you are all graduated Ninjas and some have even performed many missions, as a new team, according to custom, we still have to conduct a survival exercise."
Kakashi shook the bells. "The rules are simple: those who grab a bell from me before 12 noon get to eat. Those who don't... will just have to watch the others eat."
"So..." Kakashi hung the bells at his waist, "let's begin."
As soon as he finished speaking, Izumi and Hana disappeared from their spots—
Only Haruko remained lying on the rocking chair.
"Haruko, aren't you going to hide?" At some point, a copy of icha icha paradise had appeared in Kakashi's hand.
"Hiding is so tiring." Haruko yawned, "Besides, I also want to see the strength of konohas number one technician."
While saying he was just watching the show, Haruko reached into his Ninja tool pouch and took out a whistle.
"Whew—Beep—"
A sharp whistle echoed through the training ground.
"I see... but aren't you afraid I'll attack you directly?"
Kakashi raised his hand and threw two shuriken, his eyes still fixed on the little ○ book.
The shuriken flew past Haruko's face and pinned into the rocking chair; Haruko didn't move an inch.
"You missed"
Pulling out the shuriken, Haruko conveniently stuffed them into his own Ninja tool pouch. "Hehe, mine now. Got any more? Bring 'em on."
Rustle—
Kakashi just turned a page of the book in response.
A breeze swirled a few fallen leaves between the two.
Looking at the silver-haired man who was completely unfazed, Haruko shrugged and put the whistle in his mouth again.
"Whew, whew, beep—"
Kakashi looked around the surroundings, then silently put away the little ○ book.
"Yo, not reading anymore?"
The teasing was still ignored. Haruko raised his hand and threw two shuriken, "Back at ya!"
Kakashi didn't even look at the incoming shuriken and raised his hand to catch them—
But at the last moment, he withdrew his hand and performed a large-scale evasive maneuver.
Bang! Bang!
The shuriken suddenly exploded, and Kakashi barely managed to avoid them.
"Oh, you noticed. What a shame."
Although the power wasn't great, if he had caught them in his hand...
There was no time for Kakashi to feel lingering fear, as the next wave of attacks followed immediately.
Shwish, shwish, shwish!
shuriken flew out from the woods, curving to strike Kakashi, who dodged them by tilting his body—
Clang! Clang!
The shuriken collided in mid-air, changing their trajectories to strike Kakashi from his blind spot behind again.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique."
At the same time, Haruko, who had been lying on the rocking chair, also got up to launch an attack.
The scattered flames and shuriken formed a crossfire, forcing Kakashi to leap high.
"Go! Gaimaru!"
Inuzuka Hana gave a light shout, and the three Ninja Hounds pounced like arrows from a bow toward Kakashi, who was still in mid-air and found it difficult to evade. She followed close behind, on all fours, looking very wild.
"Quite capable..." Kakashi praised sincerely, "But, it's not enough."
He kicked at the pouncing Ninja Hounds and used them as stepping stones to adjust his posture in mid-air to counter Hana.
The sure-kill encirclement was reversed in an instant, leaving Hana alone.
"What?!"
Even if Hana's Taijutsu wasn't bad, it was incomparable to Kakashi's.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
Just as Hana was about to be dealt with by Kakashi, a huge fireball flew out from the woods directly at Kakashi.
"Beep beep beep—"
Seeing this, Haruko blew his whistle frantically.
'Izumi, you idiot! Didn't I say not to use techniques that completely block the line of sight!"
As the fireball flew past, Kakashi had indeed disappeared.
Hana was temporarily safe, but—
"Kyaa!"
Izumi, who had exposed her position, was knocked flying out of the woods by Kakashi.
"Haruko, behind you!"
Hana, having landed, shouted to Haruko—
"It's your turn, lazy brat."
Kakashi's voice also sounded from behind Haruko. His hands formed that terrifying seal—the Tiger Seal.
