Chapter 55 - Great Terror

"Shhk—!"

Kairos moved.

His figure flickered through the crowd, three blades cutting in wide, ruthless arcs. There was no restraint in his attacks—only raw, overwhelming force.

Each swing—

cut straight through bodies.

"Shhk!"

Blade light flashed.

Dozens of pirates were torn apart in an instant. Blood and flesh scattered across the ground, painting the battlefield red.

Screams echoed everywhere.

But Kairos didn't slow down.

There was no pattern to his movements, no rhythm, no way to predict him.

One moment he was here—the next, he was somewhere else entirely.

The entire Hannabal had turned into his hunting ground.

In just over ten minutes—

corpses covered the floor.

Wounded pirates lay everywhere, clutching their injuries, crying out in pain.

"This lunatic… he's killed almost a thousand people!"

"We can't beat him… this isn't a fight anymore!"

Some pirates finally broke.

Their hands trembled so badly they could barely hold their weapons.

They weren't facing an opponent.

They were facing a massacre.

No one could block even a single strike.

The stronger ones barely survived.

The weaker ones died instantly.

"How are we supposed to fight that?!"

"He's a monster!!"

A pirate dropped his weapon, his face pale as he staggered back.

His eyes locked onto Kairos—

covered in blood, wrapped in that eerie purple aura, his expression twisted with killing intent.

Fear hit him all at once.

He turned and ran.

"Shhk—!"

A flash of purple.

Kairos appeared behind him.

One slash.

The man fell.

The blade light spread outward again—

and over a hundred pirates were cut down along with him.

"Running?"

Kairos let out a low laugh.

The more blood he spilled, the thicker that purple aura around him became.

It no longer looked like energy.

It looked like armor.

Something alive.

Something… wrong.

That sight broke the last bit of courage the pirates had left.

"Run! He's not human!"

"Get out of here!!"

More and more pirates turned and fled.

Some even dropped their money bags just to move faster.

At this point, nothing mattered except surviving.

To them, Kairos was no longer a person.

He was a disaster.

"Boom!!"

A massive figure suddenly charged forward.

A giant.

Each step shook the ground.

With his entire body coated in Armament Haki, he slammed straight into the mountain wall—

and blasted open a massive exit.

Light poured in.

A way out.

"GO!!"

Thousands of pirates rushed toward the opening in a frenzy.

Outside — Harbor

The sea was calm.

Pirate ships were lined up, waiting for the Death Sea Race to begin.

A man stepped out onto the deck of one ship, stretching lazily.

Mad Treasure.

"Almost time…"

Nearby, another pirate called out.

Breed smiled.

"Want to team up this time?"

Mad Treasure smirked.

"Fine. We take out Bear King first."

Breed nodded, eyes glinting.

"Then Mushul won't stand a chance. The prize is—"

He stopped mid-sentence.

Both of them turned toward Hannabal.

"BOOM!!!"

The mountain exploded outward.

A massive opening tore open—

and pirates started pouring out.

Hundreds.

Then thousands.

They weren't celebrating.

They weren't excited.

They were running.

Mad Treasure's expression stiffened.

He saw it clearly.

Blood everywhere.

Torn clothes.

Injured bodies.

And their faces—

every single one of them looked the same.

Fear.

Not the kind you see in battle.

Something deeper.

Something instinctive.

Like prey running from something they couldn't escape.

As if—

something inside Hannabal…

was chasing them out.

A true terror had been unleashed.
