Dust and smoke filled the air as rubble rained down from above.
The dome of the Shadow King's Royal Palace shattered under Asta's full-powered slash, and golden sunlight finally broke through the darkness that had lingered for centuries.
With the core destroyed by Anti-Magic, the massive magic circle lost its power source. Its glow faded rapidly, leaving behind nothing but lifeless engravings.
Asta coughed as he struggled to stand.
His arms trembled from the backlash of his attack, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but his eyes still burned with determination.
"Did we finish it?"
Luck pushed aside debris, his body covered in injuries, yet his grin remained, full of excitement.
Cedric, however, did not relax.
His Susanoo had already faded, and he was kneeling on one knee, breathing heavily. His Chakra was completely drained, his body on the verge of collapse.
Something felt wrong.
He stared at the center of the destruction.
"An opponent like that wouldn't go down this easily."
A cold wind suddenly swept through the hall, blowing away the dust.
At the center of the crater, Nidhogg was still standing.
His body had become semi-transparent, flickering as if it could disappear at any moment. Cracks spread across his face like shattered porcelain.
"That was... impressive," Nidhogg said, his voice rough and distorted.
He lifted his hand and touched his face.
A piece of his skin peeled off like dried bark.
Then his entire face shattered.
There was no blood.
Only darkness.
His true form was revealed. A hollow face made entirely of black magic, with a single ripple-patterned black core where his eye should have been.
His voice became layered, as if multiple beings were speaking at once.
"This is my true form. A shadow rejected by this world. A seed abandoned by the gods. To survive, I wore the shell of a king."
Asta tightened his grip on his sword, "Are you a Devil?"
"A Devil? No. I am far older than that."
The shadows around him erupted.
Countless black tendrils shot out, each lined with sharp, monstrous teeth.
"Since you destroyed my home, I'll take your souls in return."
The attacks rained down like a storm.
"Watch out!" Cedric shouted, forcing himself to move, but his body refused to respond.
At that moment, a golden flash appeared.
"I'll handle this."
A man in a golden robe stepped forward, long golden hair flowing behind him. His sword gleamed with radiant light.
William Vangeance's eyes widened, "Grandfather?"
"Wizard King, Mordred Chester!" Luck shouted.
The Wizard King swung his blade.
A brilliant golden slash cut through the air, tearing apart a large portion of the incoming tendrils.
He turned slightly, a tired but calm smile on his face.
"You all did well. Especially you, Cedric. The one who wields the power of nothingness."
Cedric's eyes narrowed.
Nothingness again.
"The creature before you is the pinnacle of Shadow Magic," the Wizard King continued, his voice steady, "A forbidden existence. A Shadow Seed that devoured the previous king and took his body. It is an invader from beyond this world."
Cedric's mind raced.
"Another world... like the Ōtsutsuki."
The Wizard King frowned slightly, "I don't know that name. But whatever it is, it ends here."
His magic surged, burning brighter as if fueled by his own life.
Nidhogg screeched, "You think you can stop me?"
Before they could clash, Cedric suddenly forced himself forward.
"No!" Noelle shouted, panic in her voice, "Cedric, stop!"
He ignored her.
Inside his mind, he spoke rapidly.
"System, give me Tailed Beast Ball."
The warning came instantly.
Not enough Chakra.
Cedric gritted his teeth.
"Then use my life force. Just keep me alive."
A brief pause.
Then power exploded from within him.
His body surged with violent Chakra once more. A towering Perfect Susanoo formed around him, its four arms radiating immense power.
Above it, a massive sphere of condensed destruction began to form.
Even the Wizard King turned, shock evident in his eyes.
"That power..."
Cedric's voice rang out.
"Asta, give me three seconds. That's all I need."
Asta looked back at him, then grinned.
"Say less."
Anti-Magic erupted again as he charged forward without hesitation.
"You're not getting past me!"
The Wizard King stepped forward as well, his resolve firm.
"Then we finish this together."
Three powers rose at once.
Golden magic.
Black Anti-Magic.
Purple Chakra.
All aimed at one target.
Cedric roared, "Tailed Beast Ball!"
The Wizard King swung his blade, unleashing a radiant strike.
Asta released everything he had left.
Their attacks collided with Nidhogg's form.
The explosion consumed everything.
For a brief moment, the world fell silent.
