"I'm a commoner too."
"What a coincidence. I'm a glasses-wearing delinquent commoner too."
Hearing that his teammates were also commoners, Gilles looked disgusted.
"You two are commoners as well? Stay away from me."
He left them behind and flew off alone.
"What the hell is wrong with that bastard? What's wrong with being a commoner? Did we eat his family's food?" Magna grumbled as he mounted his broom, preparing to charge forward.
"Wait, you glasses-wearing delinquent."
Sol Marron created a mud golem, hiding the magic crystal inside it before chasing after them.
As expected, men are unreliable. Only Big Sis is truly beautiful.
Floating in the air, Gilles searched for mana signatures.
He found two.
Mimosa Vermillion and the red-haired masked man.
Asta had no mana signature at all.
"That useless commoner..."
Then he spotted him.

The trap magic inside the cave was obvious.

Gilles created clones that deliberately triggered every trap.
One by one, the traps were neutralized.
"Did you really think I'd fall for such crude tricks?"
He walked forward confidently, gathering mana in his hand.
"Ahh!"
Suddenly, Gilles dropped straight into a pit.
"What? I already cleared all the traps."
From above, Zora looked down coldly.
"Our dear noble, you're too confident in yourself. That's why you lost. Asta, finish him."
There was a strange satisfaction in his voice.
So this is what fighting alongside someone feels like.
"Got it."
Asta raised his sword and leapt down, striking Gilles and knocking him unconscious.
As he passed out, Gilles's final thought was that such a crude method was completely lacking in beauty.
Afterward, Asta and Zora sealed the cave and left.
"I finally found you, Asta."
"Magna!"
Magna Swing jumped off his broom, flames burning intensely in his eyes.
"I'll be taking your magic crystal."

Mimosa focused.
The magic crystal is inside the mud golem. I can't destroy it in one hit.

A beam of light pierced through the golem, blowing off part of its arm.
"I don't have time for this."
Earth Magic: Earth Barrier
Soil collapsed from above, burying Mimosa completely.
Sol moved forward with the golem.
Back at the battlefield, Asta began adapting to Magna's attacks, deflecting most of them.
"This is getting boring," Zora muttered.
A magic circle appeared beneath Magna.
His fireballs were absorbed and reflected back at double power.
Magna was instantly knocked out by his own attack.
"As expected, men are useless."
Sol appeared behind them.
The mud golem raised its fist toward their damaged magic crystal.
"It's over."
Suddenly, vines grew inside the golem, blooming with flowers.
"What? Why aren't you listening to me?"
"I made it in time."
Mimosa emerged, covered in dirt.
Using her magic, she controlled the vines inside the golem.
The golem reached into itself, pulled out the magic crystal, and crushed it.
"Team B wins."
After the match, Zora clicked his tongue.
"You should trust your teammates more."
Then he smirked at himself.
"Second Round, Second Match: Team E versus Team G."
"Senior Finral Roulacase, you have to win," Asta shouted.
Finral nodded nervously.
Beside him, Leopold Vermillion grinned.
"Asta, you're a worthy rival."
The match began.
Finral transported Leopold and Hamon forward while staying behind to guard the crystal.
Sekke Bronzazza rode forward on his bronze chariot, carrying Langris Vaude.
"My dear brother, I'll destroy your crystal in one move."
Spatial distortions appeared.
Finral responded with his own magic.
The two spatial spells collided and canceled each other out.
"I confirmed it with Vanessa. Spatial Magic cancels out Spatial Magic. You can't touch the crystal behind me."
"I refuse to accept that, you failure."
The two clashed repeatedly, but neither could gain the upper hand.
Meanwhile, Leopold and Hamon reached the enemy base but were immediately affected.
Snow Magic: Illusion Snow Garden
Snow began to fall.
Leopold felt drowsy but forced himself awake using flames.
"Hamon, stay awake."
"I'm fine... I can still eat..."
Hamon collapsed, fast asleep.
Leopold clenched his fists.
Looks like it's up to me.
Fire Magic: Spiral Flame
Snow Magic: Unclimbable Ice Wall
Fire and ice collided, filling the area with steam.
Back with Finral, he took a deep breath.
"Looks like I have to use my new spell."
Spatial Magic: Fallen Angel's Wingbeat
A dull green sphere of spatial energy slowly floated toward Langris.
