Chapter 32 - “The Illusion of Freedom”

When Ravi realizes that the tribals are not going to help him get out of the jungle, he says to himself—

"I should try to get out of here on my own now.

No one is going to help me.

If these people even get a hint that I'm planning to leave…

No, no…

After escaping from Alka's captivity, I don't want to fall into anyone's trap again."

From that day on, Ravi starts planning every day to escape from there without being noticed by the tribals.

One day, he finally gets a chance to run away.

Avoiding the tribals, he begins to wander through the maze-like forest.

But then, he comes across a place that is incredibly beautiful.

After so many days, he finally feels free.

After some time, he hears a soft whispering sound.

When he follows the sound, he sees a girl—she looks like she belongs to a tribal clan—filling water in a clay pot while softly humming.

That was the "whisper" he had heard.

Ravi thinks about going near her, but the moment he sees her face…

Instead of moving toward her, his steps turn backward, and he runs as far as he can away from that place.

When he feels that he has come far enough, he stops to catch his breath and relax a bit…

But then—

"Hey Ravi, you here?!"

Ravi hears Alka's voice.

"When did you come here?

I told you to stay at my house, didn't I?

I had kept everything you needed there.

Still, you ran away… why?

If you needed anything or felt something was missing, you should have told me.

Do you even know how much your actions have hurt me?"

"Please let me go, Alka.

What enmity do you have with me?

Why are you doing all this to me?

Look, whatever you want, I'm ready to give it to you.

But please… please let me go."

"Oh?

Alright then… go.

Go wherever you want.

But do you really think you can save yourself by going away from me?

This world is far more dangerous than me.

Wherever you go, you will find people like me around you.

At least I showed you mercy… they won't."

"Who people?!

What are you talking about?!"

"Oh… those people…

The ones you treated so badly that they ended up taking their own lives.

Because of you, they were forced into it.

Everyone thinks they committed suicide…

But the truth is—they were murdered."

"Are you talking about the people who died in the Vijayafraud case?

Look, whatever happened to them—it was their choice.

They knew what could happen to them.

Even then, they participated in that competition and followed all the rules.

They were fully informed about all the rules and regulations.

It's not my fault."

Hearing this, Alka becomes extremely angry.

She lifts Ravi into the air with one hand—

"It's not your fault?

Did they have a desire to die?!

You killed them so brutally, and instead of feeling guilty, you're saying it wasn't your fault?!"

Alka throws Ravi into the air.

After going up high, gravity pulls him back toward the ground.

Ravi feels that his death is certain…

But just as he is about to hit the ground—

He suddenly wakes up.

He finds himself back in the same place where Alka had kept him captive.

"What?!

How am I here?!

I had already left this place!"

Meanwhile, in Kolkata, Vijay is deeply disturbed by the attack on Alka.

He is very worried about her.

Alka has been discharged from the hospital.

Vijay goes to her and says—

"I'm sorry, Alka."

Alka moves closer to him and says—

"Why are you saying sorry?

What happened… how is it your fault? Hmm?"

Then she leans her head on Vijay's shoulder—

"I love you, Vijay."

Vijay gently strokes her head—

"I love you too."

They sit silently for a while. Then Vijay breaks the silence—

"Whatever is happening to you is because of me.

It's all my fault.

My enemies are targeting you to take revenge on me.

But I don't want to lose you.

Whoever attacked you…

I swear, I will give them such a death that every breath they take will be filled with fear of me.

I can tolerate anything…

But I cannot tolerate anyone hurting you."

Alka lifts her head from his shoulder and says—

"What if that person is someone close to you?"

"What do you mean?

Do you know who is behind these attacks?"

Alka gives no answer.

But by looking at her face, Vijay understands that she is hiding something.

He gently holds her face in his hands—

"Whoever it is…

No matter what relation I have with them,

Anyone who hurts you can never be mine.

If you know who it is, please…

Tell me their name.

Who is it?"
