And, as usual, I have no clue if this thing's undercooked or burnt to a crisp straight from the author's kitchen
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elenor's sharp, delighted grin was the last thing I saw before the world dissolved. The familiar sensation of my consciousness folding and unfolding, not unlike a badly rendered 3D texture, only lasted a moment.
"Well, that was… a loading screen," I murmured, adjusting my new glasses.
I was in what appeared to be a very spacious, open-concept living room. The floor was a warm, light-colored laminate, and a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass opened onto a large balcony. Beyond the glass, however, there was no city skyline or ocean view, just a tranquil, star-dusted void.
The apartment perfectly matched the layout I had seen briefly: a compact, modern one-bedroom unit complete with a distinct kitchen area, a dining space for four, a cozy living area, and the bedroom with an attached bath and closet. It was clean, minimalist, and blessedly quiet. A real haven.
"Apartment in Between," I confirmed, letting out a long, slow breath. The relief of having a safe, stable base was immense.
I headed straight for the kitchen. It was sleek, with white marble-like countertops and dark, modern cabinetry complete with water dispenser.
Then I looked in the cupboard and saw that various kitchen spices were neatly arranged.
"Well, I'm lucky enough to be able to at least make fried rice, which Uncle Roger would give me the title of 'Uncle' if he saw my cooking."
The most crucial item, the refrigerator, hummed softly. I opened it.
The interior was neatly stocked with essentials :vegetables, frozen meat, eggs, cheese, , and a few pre-packaged microwave meals. A small note was taped to one of pre-packaged microwave meals :
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Jumper,
This initial supply is a one-time courtesy from CG, Inc. Think of it as your moving-in welcome basket. Future resupply is entirely your responsibility
Enjoy your free food!
Yours Dear Dealer, Elenor
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'So much for infinite free groceries,' I thought with a shrug, but it was expected. I closed the fridge, making a mental note that future excursions would definitely involve a grocery run.
Next, I found the bathroom clean, modern, with a bathtub and shower. A small detail, but the provision of shampoo and fresh towels was another point of relief.
The bedroom was already furnished with a comfortable-looking queen bed, a TV , and a small functional desk perfect for study. The closet was empty save for a few sets of plain, comfortable clothes in my size, all bearing a subtle, unbranded label. 'Another mundane utility pull that didn't need a ticket,' I mused.
The TV was a smart model, pre-loaded with streaming services. A part of my old self, the one who'd rather sail the high seas than pay for fifteen different subscriptions, scoffed. But hey, free Wi-Fi in the void between worlds? I couldn't complain.
I stepped onto the balcony. The air was cool and still. The void was a dizzying, beautiful backdrop of swirling nebulae and distant, unreachable lights. It was breathtaking, but in a way that screamed "existential horror" if you stared too long. I retreated inside, preferring the warm, solid comfort of the living room
I could have just left [Apartment in Between] to see where Elenor sent me but I think I should stay here to study the magic in [Tome of Raya Lucaria] because at least I can throw magic stones from the sky if when I leave I get ambushed by monsters or bandits or whatever that thinks of trying to do JJK jumping.
Plus, the stock in the fridge can last for the next week as long as I don't get carried away and eat everything there.
'It's time to study this tome book on my own for 1 week until I can at least use one of the spells in this book'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next week blurred into a cycle of study, practice, eating, and sleeping.
My first thought in understanding Glintstone magic was overwhelming. This was a university-level textbook on a branch of physics that didn't exist. But then, the new facets of my mind kicked in.
[Novice Conceptualization] skill allowed me to grasp the ideas. The text spoke of "stars" and "amber" not as literal objects, but as conceptual anchors for cosmic energy. It described glintstone not as a rock, but as a mineral that had crystallized wisdom, a conduit for the primeval current of intelligence that flows through the cosmos. My old self would have dismissed it as poetic nonsense. My new self saw the underlying logic. It was a system, with rules and principles.
And the [Magician] trait... that was the real key. It was like having a native speaker's intuition for a language I'd never studied.
After seven days of nearly non-stop immersion, only broken by sleep and microwave dinners I was no longer a civilian. I was a novice Sorcerer.
I didn't have the grand, cathedral-like halls of Raya Lucaria, but my silent, infinite apartment made a perfect, distraction-free practice space. The spells I managed to reliably master were primarily the beginner and utility-focused ones
The most satisfying was mastering the constant flow of energy required for a utility spell. It was the first one that felt truly like magic and not just a glorified projectile launcher.
I focused on the concept in the tome: a star. A small, floating, guiding light. I channeled the energy from my core, up my arm and into my open palm.
At first, nothing happened. Then, a pinprick of bright, blue-white light appeared, hovering an inch above my hand. It flickered, sputtered, and then, with a soft vwoom, it stabilized.
I opened my eyes.
Floating in the dim light of my apartment was a small, fist-sized orb of beautiful, crystalline light.
It wasn't a hot, fiery light, but a cool, pure, magical glow, casting sharp, clear shadows on the wall. It was the Starlight spell, perfect and stable.
The entire apartment, which had relied on the ceiling lights, was now bathed in the gentle, magical radiance.
"Well," I breathed, a wide grin spreading across my face.
This was real. This was power, ready to be used.
Despite my initial success, there were still roadblocks.
I flipped through the final, most advanced pages of the Tome of Raya Lucaria, reading the descriptions for spells like Comet Azur, Stars of Ruin, and Founding Rain of Stars.
The text here was different. It spoke of the sorcerers who created them as having "glimpsed into the primeval current" or "made contact with the wisdom of the void."
Because while I could now comfortably perform Pebble, Shard, Stars, Arc, Barrage, Burst, and everything in between… the big spells? The legendary ones?
Yeah no.
Absolutely not.
Comet Azur, Stars of Ruin, Founding Rain of Stars, the tome didn't just describe them as "advanced." It spoke about their creators "glimpsing the primeval current," a cosmic truth beyond mortal comprehension.
Reading that passage made something in me shiver.
The "primeval current" wasn't just more magic. It was fundamental. It reminded me way too much of the ROOT from the Nasuverse, something deep, absolute, unreachable without paying some unfathomable price. A metaphysical Cosmos-source, The origin and the end of all sorcery in the Elden Ring.
I stared at the page for a long time.
"Not touching that anytime soon."
Maybe, someday, when I wasn't just a week-old mage wearing glasses and living off microwave meals in a void-apartment. But for now?
I was content being a functional Raya Lucaria freshman. I had a solid, functional set of spells: the primary projectile line (Pebble up to Comet), crowd control (Arc, Stars, Barrage), and utility (Starlight). That was more than enough to handle basic monster encounters or bandits.
I had just closed the tome, rubbing at my slightly sore eyes curse-four eyes or not, reading metaphysical star-physics for hours wasn't exactly ergonomic
when I heard a sound that absolutely did not belong in my apartment.
Ding-dong!
The sound was shockingly mundane, jarring in the silent, star-dusted void. I instantly deactivated the small Glintstone Shard forming in my hand and looked toward the front door, startled.
"A visitor? Who in the Multiverse uses a doorbell in the Apartment in Between?" I muttered, cautiously approaching the door and peering through the peephole.
Standing on the threshold, hovering slightly, was a small, bizarre automaton. It was roughly human torso-sized, a chaotic mix of futuristic hardware and clownish whimsy. Its limbs were segmented and ended in oversized, pale yellow dice, giving it a manic, jester-like silhouette. Its face—or what served as one—was a bulky, box-shaped television screen filled with static noise, through which a permanent, unsettlingly wide clown smile was visible, flanked by two shimmering, four-pointed star eyes.
"HELLOOOOOOO, JUMPER! ARE YOU HOME? IT'S BILLIE THE CUB, YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD UNIT! I HAVE A MESSAGE! LET ME IN OR I'LL SHOUT IT THROUGH THE DOOR, AND YOU DON'T WANT THAT!"
With a sigh, I unlocked the door and opened it just wide enough.
"You're a C.U.B?" I asked, adjusting my glasses. "I assume 'C.U.B' stands for something."
The robot, Billie, floated past me into the center of the living room, performing a small, slightly manic pirouette. The screen-face beamed its unsettling, static-laced smile.
"BILLIE C.U.B. STANDS FOR COMBAT UNIT BOOSTERS AND I AM AN AUTHORIZED AGENT OF YOUR DEAR DEALER, ELENOR! SHE SENT ME! ISN'T THAT FUN?!"
"Well, since you've been working for Elenor, she must have something to say."
"AHEM—MESSAGE FOLLOWS!"
Billie stopped spinning, its dice-tipped arms fluttering. It projected a small, shimmering holographic image onto the wall; it was a slightly peeved Elenor, sipping from a glass of what looked like wine.
"Hello, dear Jumper," the hologram said, crossing her arms. "I see you've spent an entire week hiding in your apartment like a cave-dwelling arcane gremlin."
Billie leaned close, its screen inches from my nose. "YOU DID NOT EVEN STEP AN INCH OUT."
I gently pushed it back. "Yeah, I was… studying."
"Studying is good," Elenor's hologram allowed. "But you've officially triggered one of our 'extended inactivity alerts.' Billie is programmed to poke you until you remember you're not supposed to stagnate."
At that moment, Billie transformed, its form compacting slightly, and it poked my forehead with a tiny metal hand.
"POKE."
"Ow!"
"THIS UNIT WILL CONTINUE UNTIL COMPLIANCE."
"Okay! OKAY! I get it!"
"Consider this your non-official, optional, get-out-of-the-house notification. Now go. You have have a good foundation in magic, so stop practicing your Starlight spell, and start using your Glintstone Pebble on something that isn't the void air. Billie will facilitate your departure. Don't make me send a collection agent."
The hologram flickered and dissolved, leaving Billie CUB's chaotic clown face the only focus in the room.
"YOU HEARD THE LADY!" Billie shrieked, the volume spiking again. Its entire chassis began to vibrate, and the air around it shimmered with purple energy. "TIME TO JUMP! ARE YOU READY FOR THE RIDE?!"
I massaged my temples, adjusting my glasses. A week of peace, quiet, and study was better than nothing. I had the basics down, and I had my apartment ready for a quick retreat if things went sideways.
"Fine, Billie. Let's go," I sighed, walking toward the desk to grab the Tome of Raya Lucaria. "Don't break anything on the way out."
"BREAKING THINGS IS MY FAVORITE PART!" Billie chirped. A small, dark portal shimmered into existence right beside its body a doorway woven from pure, swirling chaos. "FOLLOW THE CLOWN, JUMPER! YOUR FIRST ASSIGNMENT AWAITS!"
"OH, ALMOST FORGOT!" Billie exclaimed, pushing the card into my hand. "ELENOR SAYS YOU ARE POOR! THIS IS YOUR INITIAL EXPENSE FUND! DON'T BE SHY! USE IT TO GET CLOTHES, FOOD, MAYBE A NEW FANCY COFFEE MAKER! WHATEVER A JUMPER NEEDS TO NOT LOOK LIKE A HOMELESS WIZARD!"
"How much is on this?" I asked skeptically.
"INFINITE!" Billie screamed. Then, its voice dropped to a conspiratorial, grating whisper. "JUST KIDDING! IT'S A MODEST, BUT SUFFICIENT, FUND. ENOUGH FOR THREE MONTHS OF COMFORTABLE LIVING IN A FIRST-WORLD SETTING. CONSIDER IT A HEAD START!"
Billie pulled closer, its screen-face nearly touching my new glasses.
"BUT LISTEN CLOSELY, JUMPER," the robot's voice was sharp and clear for a second, cutting through the static. "DO NOT SPEND IT ALL IN ONE PLACE. WE ARE NOT A CHARITY! THIS IS SEED MONEY. SPEND IT WISELY AND BUILD YOUR FORTUNE. FAIL TO DO SO, AND ELENOR WILL SEND ME BACK TO COLLECT INTEREST IN BLOOD."
The clown-smile returned, and the static crackled violently. "NOW, LET'S JUMP!"
A small, dark portal shimmered into existence right beside its body—a doorway woven from pure, swirling chaos.
I took one last look at my safe haven—my small, perfectly stocked, floating apartment in the stardust. I felt the comforting weight of the black card in my wallet and the low thrum of my freshly learned magic coursing under my skin.
"Time to see what kind of world I am going to visit," I muttered, walking toward the swirling darkness.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My boots hit solid ground.
Trees.
A park.
Afternoon sunlight.
Children playing.
Normalcy so strong it felt unreal.
I think I'm in a typical park in the late afternoon
Well, after walking for a bit
But then I heard someting that is truly beyond belief
"Listen well, children. Breasts… they are the ultimate pleasure! You must learn to love them, for they are the greatest treasure!" declared the old man to the group of children sitting in a circle, listening to his tale.
The old man appeared no more than a dwarf in tattered clothes, his bald head and diminutive stature betraying his advanced age. Unbeknownst to the children, this man was nothing more than a depraved pervert seeking to spread his obsession, attempting to corrupt young minds into embracing his twisted perception of pleasure.
It was supposed to be utterly wrong for an old man to teach minors such depravity, but he refused to see it that way. To him, pleasure was everything. Nothing else mattered
"What the hell are you doing listening to this creep?"
The old man turned to see a teen standing with arms crossed, his gaze filled with pure revulsion.
"And who might you be?" the old man asked.
"None of your business, you creepy old freak. And why are you all gathered here listening to him?"
"this weird little man started talking about… uh… what was it again?" one of the children tried to recall.
"Something about breasts being the ultimate pleasure," One of the kids with brown hair and a hairstyle that I would describe as a Shonen Character Template.
My eyes widened in shock, his mouth slightly agape. Then, my expression twisted into one of indescribable disgust. I turned to glare at the old man, who instinctively recoiled under his intense scrutiny.
"You Did WHAT!?"
"W-w-what's the problem?" the old man stammered, feigning innocence.
"Don't give me that 'W-w-what's the problem?' nonsense! You are the most disgusting degenerate I have ever encountered, and I'm not even here for more that 5 minute" I shouted furiously.
The old man scoffed before smirking smugly. "How dare you? I am merely enlightening your friends about the true meaning of pleasure. The sensation of a woman's breasts is so alluring that it is something only a real man can appreciate."
Now looking completely self-satisfied, he added, "You must have never experienced true pleasure if you're acting all stiff and serious. Am I right, boys?"
The children hesitated, some nearly nodding, but sharp glare froze them in place.
"Don't you dare listen to this pathetic excuse for a man! If you do, you'll ruin your lives! You'll end up just like him alone, miserable, and laughed at by everyone. Look at him!" I pointed at the old man with utter contempt.
"He's poor, he's crazy, he's a loner, and he spends his days sitting in this park. Do you boys really want to end up like him? Hm?"
"N-no…" one of the boys whimpered.
"Listen and listen well. There's nothing wrong with pleasure in moderation, but if you prioritize it above all else, regardless of the consequences, you'll destroy yourself. It's like a drug once you're addicted, you lose everything. Your mother will hate you. Your father will disown you. You'll have no home, no future, and no self-respect. Everyone will mock you for being a degenerate, and no one NO ONE will ever love a disgusting scumbag who values pleasure over everything else. Do you want that?! Do you want to live and die as a wretched pervert, unloved and forgotten?!"
Tears welled in the children's eyes as one of them sobbed, "N-no…"
"Then leave! Unless you actually want to end up like this old man!" I barked.
Terrified, the children immediately scattered, running away as fast as they could.
I watched until they were all gone before turning back to the old man, who was now glaring at him with unbridled hatred.
"You… how dare you?! Who do you think you are to tell them what's right and wrong?! And how dare you disrespect your elder…."
The old man's tirade was abruptly cut off as My presence darkened. A menacing aura surrounded him, his expression deathly serious as he took a step forward. His voice dropped to a chilling whisper.
"Listen to me carefully, you filthy old pervert.where I'm thankful you don't have grandchildren because your genes would cause humans to become extinct within 100 years, If I ever see you here again, I will make you regret it so badly that you'll be paralyzed and feel nothing for the rest of your miserable life Do. You. Understand?"
The old man's face turned ashen. Without another word, he spun on his heel and fled the park at full speed. The only thought racing through his mind was that approaching children, going to parks, or even coming to Japan in the first place had been a terrible mistake.
Once the perverted old man had completely vanished, the ominous aura surrounding me dissipated as if it had never existed.
"Oh God, who died on a golden throne in heaven, why must this world ?
Why did it have to be this one? The one anime I binged back on Earth before all this... The world drunk on power, boobs, and bad decisions…"
The supernatural hell circus where devils, angels, and fallen angels played chess with nukes and cleavage.
High School DxD.
Where the main character's personality could be summed up in one divine phrase:
"Oppai."
Yep…..
I now in that World
"And I'm sure that thanks to my prevention, the Canon Event where Issei started to like breasts might change this for better or worse…."
After 30 minutes in this world, I had already flapped my butterfly wings, which would turn into a storm without me realizing it.
"Now I have to worry about this world's laundry list of apocalyptic events. Fallen angels going rogue, a civil war between devils, whatever the hell that ExE business was about... and that's before the little Dio wannabe Ex-Femboy decides to play with time."
"Time to figure out how to survive this place before the next supernatural idiot with wings appears."
[Feat Achieved!The Butterfly's First Flap]
[Stopping the canonical event that defines this world setting protagonist's destiny]
[+1 Gold Trait Gacha Ticket]
"WELL, FIRST OF ALL, CONGRATULATIONS ON UNINTENTIONALLY CHANGING THE DESTINY OF THE "MAIN CHARACTER" IN THIS WORLD WITHOUT REALIZING IT," said Billie, who appeared suddenly."THAT'S CALLED A CANON INTERVENTION! AND CG, INC. REWARDS EXCELLENT DRAMATIC INTERVENTION!"
The small robot, still manic, shoved a shimmering object into my hand. It looked like the golden cards Elenor had given me in the bar
"ONE GOLD TICKET!" Billie shrieked. "USE IT! USE IT NOW!"
I sighed, pinching the bridge of my new glasses. I had just terrified a pervert and was now standing next to a psychotic clown robot in a public park in Japan.
"Fine, let's get this over with before someone calls the police," I muttered.
I carefully tore the golden ticket. Like the ones before, it dissolved instantly in a brilliant flash of light that, thankfully, seemed localized only to my vision. The familiar transparent blue screen popped up in front of my face, its text clean and perfectly readable through my glasses.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rolling Trait Gold Ticket
[Hellsing]
|Elite Trait|
You are the true hunter of all inhumane, Ghouls, Ghosts, Cryptids, and Demons. When facing anything that fits this category all of your reflexes and skills are enhanced and you enter a special state of focus. In addition, you gain enhanced intuition against any opponent or topic in this category.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My jaw dropped slightly. I stared at the text, then scanned the quiet, peaceful park, then back at the text.
"Hellsing," I breathed, the word tasting like metal and gunpowder. "The organization... or the actual manga?"
"IT'S A TRAIT, SILLY JUMPER!" Billie chimed in, circling my head rapidly. "WHICH MEANS IT'S YOU! YOU ARE NOW A SUPERNATURAL PREDATOR!"
"An Elite Trait," I murmured, running the description through my head. "It's a specialized focus. Not general power, but an absolute advantage against anything supernatural... which, in High School DxD, is basically 99% of the important cast."
"CORRECT-A-MUNDO, HUNTER-MAGE! YOU ARE NOW AN ESTABLISHED THREAT TO ANYONE WITH WINGS, HORNS, OR WEIRD EYES!"
"Huh, Power Boost when facing anything that isn't a normal human being, not bad."
"SO WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO? FIND NO NAME DEVIL STRAY AND SEE HOW IT GOES?"
"Well, maybe next time I'm kinda craving something and need to buy something."
"EHH...."
And so my journey in Boobsland began.
