Chapter 38 - Chapter 37

Lock Parker turned around, smiled slightly, and pointed to the space behind Tony's seat: "There's a laptop in the bag behind you. You can check it out now."

Tony looked back in the direction the bag had been placed and indeed found a laptop bag behind the seat.

Upon opening it, there really was a laptop inside!

Tony pulled the laptop out of the bag and grumbled, "How come you have all sorts of things in your car? An RPG, a laptop—are you Doraemon?"

Snap—

Lock Parker didn't answer. Instead, he reached back from the driver's seat and slapped Tony's laptop, which Tony was about to open.

Tony's lips curled into a wicked smile:

"What, you want me to come to the front seat and watch it with you?"

Lock Parker slowly shook his head and said seriously:

"I have no interest in watching such offensive content with you. But I have to tell you in advance that if you plan to harm the people in the story after watching it, you must entrust me to carry it out. If you agree, you can continue."

Upon hearing this, Tony looked at Lock Parker with disdain:

"Pah! What do you take me for? You can just watch this stuff. Who would want to invite a teacher over? Do I look like that kind of desperate person?"

"I'm putting this out there: no matter how good-looking the lead actors are, I, Tony Stark, won't have the slightest reaction!"

Lock Parker shrugged, didn't reply, and silently withdrew his hand from the notebook.

Tony, with a victorious smile, opened his laptop, plugged in the USB drive, and, not forgetting his unfortunate buddy Ethan, pushed the screen toward him:

"Ethan, come on—sharing is caring! We've been suffering for over two months, let's watch something good to cleanse our eyes!"

"Hiss... we're still in the car, no... this isn't a good idea..."

Although he said that, Ethan couldn't help but glance at the screen.

Tony grinned mischievously, pointed at Ethan, and opened the only video on the USB drive.

"Aaaaaaahh..."

Upon opening, a shocking scene unfolded—even before the visuals, the painful groans could be heard.

But immediately, Tony frowned, realizing something was wrong.

Wait… why does that voice sound like a man?

And why is it so familiar?

When the screen lit up, Tony froze.

The person screaming in the video… was himself!

The scene showed Ethan performing crude chest surgery on him—without anesthesia!

Tony's veins bulged as he felt phantom pain in his chest again. He gritted his teeth and glared at Lock Parker:

"Is this what you call SM, bondage, and getting wet?"

Lock Parker, barely holding back laughter, replied:

"Yeah—cutting with a knife counts as SM, right?"

"I… you… Fine! That counts—but what about bondage and getting wet?" Tony snapped.

"Don't worry, it's coming."

Sure enough, the next scene arrived.

Tony was tied to a chair, drenched, unconscious—while the bald leader stood in front of him.

Then came the name—

Obadiah Stane.

Tony's entire body trembled.

His most trusted uncle.

The second-largest shareholder of Stark Industries.

The traitor.

"Fuck! That bastard! I knew it! Only he could secretly sell Stark weapons to terrorists!"

Tony slammed the laptop, smashing it completely.

"The laptop costs ten thousand."

Lock Parker casually added.

Tony yanked out the USB, threw the laptop out the window, and said angrily:

"I'll give you ten million—shut up!"

Ten million?

Lock Parker immediately became silent.

After a while, Tony spoke again:

"You said earlier—if I want to deal with the people in this video, I have to hire you, right?"

Lock Parker nodded.

Tony exhaled:

"Good. Now answer me—will you take the job?"

Lock Parker replied calmly:

"The customer is king. So… do you want to become my second client?"

Tony didn't hesitate:

"Of course. I want that man to pay in blood. Name your price."

This actually made Lock Parker pause.

For the first time… he had to set his own price.

After thinking, he threw the question back:

"How much do you think your uncle's life is worth?"

Tony went silent.

Obadiah Stane held 15% of Stark Industries.

That value… was immeasurable.

But hiring fees aren't calculated like that.

After a moment, Tony said:

"Two options."

"First—I'll give you another 500 million. You kill him. Clean and simple."

Lock Parker shrugged:

"Not bad. Killing is easier than saving. That's a profit."

Tony frowned:

"So you're choosing that?"

Lock Parker shook his head:

"No. I choose option two."

Tony blinked:

"I haven't even said option two yet."

Lock Parker smiled:

"A guy as rich and arrogant as you? The second offer is always better."

Tony smirked:

"I like how you think."

"Option two—5% of Stark Industries."

"But you must do two things."

Lock Parker nodded instantly:

"Deal."

Tony was stunned again:

"You didn't even hear the conditions!"

Lock Parker replied calmly:

"As long as the money is right, there's nothing I won't do. And if it's bad for me…"

He glanced at Tony.

"I'll throw you out of the car."

Tony covered his face, speechless.

"Fine… these conditions aren't bad."

"First—if I ever end up in danger again, you come save me. Even if no one hires you."

"Second—if I die… Pepper will be in danger."

"You must protect her too."
