Chapter 231 - Chapter 231: An Old Friend's Wedding

Rati's hundred-day celebration had to be prepared with great enthusiasm. In the world of One Piece, there was one group that was particularly skilled when it came to tea parties and weddings.

Although Rhett's relationship with Charlotte Linlin was not as close as his relationship with the Five Elders,

but still,

Rhett had made so many of her ex-husbands disappear for her. He had eliminated the potential threat of ex-husbands coming with children to claim her fortune. In a certain sense, Rhett and Charlotte Linlin were on the same side.

When he went to see Kaido, Rhett hadn't prepared much, because Kaido was just a nobody on the street. No, no, a brother.

This time, Rhett was bringing everyone. Wahahaha. Even though I killed your ex-husbands, and accidentally put a few of your children to sleep, and visited many times with Captain Roger as a guest, we are still good friends.

As Rhett's fleet entered the waters of Whole Cake Island, the flags of the Big Mom Pirates appeared on the distant horizon. Katakuri and Perospero stood at the bow of the main ship. Behind them was a massive fleet.

"Looks like we're in for a tough fight, everyone," Rhett said to his crew.

The blood-colored mist spread.

Katakuri stood with his arms crossed, his scarf fluttering in the wind. His steady gaze watched Rhett's approaching ship. Perospero licked his candy cane and smiled a meaningful smile. "Well, well... What a rare guest, Captain Rhett."

Rhett stood on the deck. Blood mist slowly swirled at his feet. The corners of his mouth curled into a playful arc. "Yo, isn't this Katakuri and Perospero? What, did Linlin send you to welcome me? Do you two think you can stop my Blood Dawn Pirates?"

Perospero chuckled. "Mama said that since an 'old friend' was visiting, we should naturally offer the highest level of hospitality."

Rhett had expected a tense confrontation. But thinking about it, without the motivation of profit, no leader would start a pointless war.

Katakuri nodded slightly. His tone was calm but carried a hint of caution. "Captain Rhett, please follow us to Whole Cake Island."

Rhett tilted his head. A glint of mischief flickered in his crimson eyes. "So friendly? Is this going to be a trap?"

Perospero spread his hands. "Not at all. Mama specially prepared the finest desserts to welcome you."

Rhett laughed. "Alright. Then I'll be sure to try them. But if there's anything extra hidden in those desserts, I might get upset."

Katakuri's Observation Haki flickered slightly, but his expression remained calm. "Don't worry. Mama has always been hospitable."

Rhett waved his hand. The blood mist created a gentle breeze. "Then lead the way. Let's see what surprise Linlin has prepared this time."

They were here to hire help.

Wait, Rhett suddenly remembered something.

"Boss Tesoro, don't we also have territory that produces food?"

"Yes, Captain. We accidentally found an unmanned island."

"Send some to Katakuri and Perospero. It should be a familiar taste."

"Understood, Captain."

Katakuri and Perospero's faces were not very good. "Thank you, Captain Rhett."

Translation:

"I took your island because you couldn't defeat me. Don't act so self-important."

As the fleet slowly sailed into the harbor of Whole Cake Island, everyone on the Blood Dawn finally saw the full picture of this disgustingly sweet island.

"Whoa—" Perona floated in the air and spun around. "These buildings are really made of cookies and cream!"

Moria used his shadow to poke the ground at the dock. He dug out a piece of chocolate brick. "Kishishishi... Pretty tasty."

As the Bruma Jackson docked, Rhett stood at the bow. Blood mist swirled around his fingertips. A glint of mischief flickered in his crimson eyes.

Katakuri jumped onto the island. "Welcome to Whole Cake Island, Lord Rhett. What a coincidence. Mama is holding a wedding today Peroperopero"

"Mamamama! Isn't this the Rhett brat?" Charlotte Linlin's voice came from a distance. There was a smile in her voice, but the coldness in her eyes could not be hidden.

Rhett raised an eyebrow. The corners of his mouth curled into a meaningful smile. "Oh? A wedding? Looks like I came at the right time."

Tesoro stood behind Rhett and whispered, "Captain, this atmosphere doesn't feel right."

Rhett raised his hand to signal everyone to be quiet. Then he walked toward Linlin. "Charlotte Linlin, long time no see. Have your wounds healed from last time?"

Linlin's pupils contracted slightly, but she quickly recovered. "Mamamama."

Perospero quickly tried to mediate. "Lord Rhett, Mama specially sent us to welcome you. Please follow us to the wedding Peroperopero"

Rhett shrugged. The blood mist at his feet formed a red carpet. "Lead the way. I'm also curious who has such 'good fortune' to marry Charlotte Linlin."

Along the way, the residents of Whole Cake Island hid behind buildings, secretly looking at the uninvited guests. The Blood Dawn Pirates' reputation had spread throughout the seas. Especially since they had just defeated the combined forces of Kaido and Linlin.

The wedding venue was decorated to the extreme. Desserts were piled high like mountains. Homies played cheerful music. Linlin sat in the main seat. Beside her stood a tall, unfamiliar man — her new husband.

From the Tontatta Kingdom. This man could compete with Rhett's Supreme Grade Jabba.

"Mamamama! Rhett, you came just in time!" Linlin laughed as she raised her cup. "Have a drink! Celebrate my wedding!"

Rhett glanced at the "groom." The man's eyes were vacant. He was clearly a puppet controlled by the Soul-Soul Fruit.

Rhett sneered internally, but his expression remained calm. "Congratulations, Linlin. But the wedding is just a side note. Prepare a feast for me. In three months, I'm throwing a hundred-day celebration for my niece."

Linlin's smile instantly turned cold. "Oh? You brought your entire crew to my Totto Land just to ask us to help?"

"Exactly. Why else would I come here? For cake."

Linlin stared at Rhett for a few seconds. Then she suddenly burst into laughter. "Mamamama! You brat, you sure know how to pick your timing!" She gulped down a barrel of wine and wiped her mouth. "Fine! It's just a hundred-day celebration, isn't it?"

Rhett grinned. "That's more like it. Old friends should help each other out."

Linlin narrowed her eyes. Her smile was dangerous. "But, Rhett, you'd better remember — this is a 'partnership,' not 'charity.'"

"Of course." Rhett shrugged. "I've always been about 'fairness.'"

Fairness? The Blood Dawn's version of "fairness" had always been "whatever I say goes."

But for now, both sides tacitly avoided mentioning past grievances. After all, profit was the eternal theme of the New World.
