The night passed, and it was now the eighth day of the novice period!
Su Ye crawled out from the pile of women, clutching his lower back, and walked toward the Chaos Spring Eye with somewhat unsteady steps.
"I can't take it, I really can't take it. This shouldn't be happening; I've already leveled up so much." Su Ye clutched his lower back, feeling as if he had almost been drained dry.
Then, thinking of something, he looked up at the sky of his territory, at the Eternal Light.
"Holy crap, no wonder I feel like it's getting harder and harder to handle!!" Su Ye looked at the sky above his territory with a pained expression.
"This won't do. I have to find a way to strengthen my constitution, otherwise, I'll turn into a dried-up husk sooner or later." Su Ye took two large gulps of chaos spring water.
Resurrected at full health, he instantly felt like he could take on ten more!
"System, open the daily Combat Power Gift Pack," Su Ye said to the system.
[Ding: You have obtained barracks refresh recruitment card X2]
[Ding: You have obtained barracks upgrade card X1]
...
"Hmm? Today's luck is pretty good. I actually got two barracks refresh recruitment cards and one barracks upgrade card." Su Ye had a smile on his face; a good start to the day.
"Not bad, not bad." Su Ye checked and saw that he now had 18 barracks refresh recruitment cards and 9 barracks upgrade cards.
"Alright, alright, I'll keep stockpiling them. There's no rush to use these things." Su Ye looked over his territory.
Currently, his territory only satisfied his daily recruitment needs, and even so, he had to Upgrade it once every day.
The main reason was that Su Ye wasn't in a hurry now. There was no absolute need to rush the recruitment of troops units. With the term: Wanton Spending, the recruitment cost was fixed at 1 gold coin.
This meant Su Ye didn't need to worry about how to recruit troops once the novice period ended. This was why he wasn't rushing; he would first slowly raise the barracks level.
Materials for early barracks levels were easy to find, but it would be different later on. That's why Su Ye had been keeping the barracks upgrade cards; not using them now was for the sake of future Upgrades.
Although materials were already difficult to collect now, they could still be found. If he continued upgrading like this, the materials needed for these barracks later on might be things he'd never even heard of.
If he used the cards now just for convenience, what would he do for future Upgrades?
One couldn't just look at the present and ignore the future.
Returning to the present, Su Ye began his daily recruitment.
He still started with the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary.
Fallen Angel +30!
Then Su Ye went over to the Supreme Protocol.
Talys was already waiting there. Su Ye and Talys entered the hall of the Supreme Protocol, where a large white orb of light was spinning, with the numbers 0 and 1 constantly rotating within it.
[Ding: Do you wish to consume 30 gold coins for daily recruitment?]
"Recruit." Su Ye looked at the large orb of light in front of him.
A white light rose. Su Ye watched the emerging white light with a hint of curiosity in his eyes. As the white light bloomed, a streak of golden light appeared, and a tall figure emerged within the radiance.
"It's a gold!" Su Ye looked at the golden figure within the light with a hint of surprise.
The light faded, and a tall figure appeared beside Su Ye. She wore a white lab coat and high heels, her heart-shaped face possessing an intellectual beauty. A pair of semi-rimmed gold glasses hung on her high bridge nose, and her long golden hair was tied into a high ponytail. She observed her surroundings with a calm and composed expression, finally putting her hands in her pockets and turning her gaze toward Su Ye.
Talys looked at the newly appeared Hero Unit expressionlessly, her gaze showing no fluctuation whatsoever.
"Dawn Moon greets the Emperor," Dawn Moon said to Su Ye with a smile on her face.
Su Ye looked at Dawn Moon, then at the other recruited units. It was worth noting that they were all Gene Forbidden Army, which meant Dawn Moon was a special Hero Unit.
Generally speaking, Hero Units were divided into two types. One was like Talys and Lilith, who had their own exclusive troops.
The other type was special Hero Units; they had no exclusive troops, only themselves.
Dawn Moon clearly belonged to the latter; otherwise, with her appearance, a new type of troops should have appeared as well.
Su Ye nodded to Dawn Moon and then checked her attributes.
Name: Dawn Moon
Level: black iron
Rank: God-tier
troops: Mechanical Creator - Dawn Moon
Talent: Heart of Machinery
Skills: Upgrade, Modification, Research and Development
Exclusive Building: Science and Technology Research Institute!
Potential: Unknown (No specific potential level, unrelated to terms.)
PS: A Tech-side Mechanical Creator, capable of researching and developing all mechanical-related technological creations. The supreme creator of the Tech-side mechanical category, she is a special Hero Unit. Her level increase is related to mechanical creations—the more mechanical creations, the faster the level increase. Her potential is tied to her mechanical creations.
Looking at Dawn Moon's description, Su Ye saw she was indeed a special Hero Unit with unknown potential, meaning her potential depended on herself.
The four words 'Mechanical Creator' explained everything.
The talent Heart of Machinery allowed her to dominate all mechanical creations she made. No wonder she didn't need exclusive troops; one could say all mechanical creations were her troops.
She only had three skills, but each was more heaven-defying than the last.
Upgrade could improve any mechanical blueprint; Modification could alter any mechanical product; Research and Development could create any required mechanical invention.
It was no wonder she was called the Mechanical Creator.
Although she didn't have a divine artifact, she had her own exclusive building. This was the first time Su Ye had seen a troop unit come with its own exclusive building.
"Emperor, I need to construct my exclusive building so that I can utilize my abilities," Dawn Moon said to Su Ye with a smile.
Su Ye nodded.
"Alright, follow me for now. We'll wait until I've recruited the other companions. I'll leave Talys and the others to you," Su Ye said to Talys and Dawn Moon.
Talys nodded.
Dawn Moon looked at Talys, a hint of curiosity in her eyes: "A genetic creation. Pity, I'm not very good at this type of Modification."
Talys's pupils constricted as she looked at Dawn Moon, but Dawn Moon maintained a warm smile, seemingly indifferent to Talys's reaction.
Su Ye looked at Dawn Moon and then shook his head: "Dawn Moon, everyone in the territory is a companion."
"Emperor, I know. However, I deal with machinery. If the Emperor recruits those lunatics one day, it might be a different story," Dawn Moon said with a smile, her hands still in her pockets as she looked at Su Ye.
"Lunatics?" Su Ye couldn't help but think of some of the lunatic troops under certain tech lords now—the lunatics of the Tech-side virus branch, the gene branch, and the Modification branch.
Thinking of this, Su Ye looked at Dawn Moon: "You also do mechanical Modification, right? So..."
"Does the lord also want mechanical servants modified from flesh and blood? That's not a problem, but I need to establish the research institute first," Dawn Moon said very casually.
"As I thought." Su Ye looked at Dawn Moon and instantly felt a headache coming on. There wasn't much of a difference between Dawn Moon and those lunatics.
"We'll talk about that later. Let's go and recruit the other companions first," Su Ye said to Dawn Moon, leading her away from the Supreme Protocol.
