Chapter 36 - The Blood Seed

While the healer worked, I couldn't help but mutter to my sister beside me.

"I think it's magnificent. Why does no one appreciate its beauty?"

Jet cleared her throat, and I could sense her biting her tongue to stay focused as she answered.

"What is?"

"My eye. All the servants and workers who looked at it quickly avoided my face as if it were some kind of disease."

Jet paused to think for a moment, then replied.

"It is magnificent, but it gives off an unsettling feeling. Since I'm your sister, I know you aren't doing it on purpose, so I can ignore it—and so can the rest of our sisters."

Hearing this, I couldn't help but ask.

"A feeling like what?"

"As if a predator is staring at its prey."

Oh.

Well, for some reason, that answer satisfied my bruised ego. Just kidding—the truth was I didn't care much, but I felt curious.

"By the way, how were you injured?"

"Did you only just remember to ask me?"

"Hey, don't be like that. You know I'm teasing. Besides, you are in our clan compound, under the protection of Ascendants, and with several Saints currently present. It's obvious that you are the one who injured yourself."

When she said that last part, I couldn't help but feel the heat rising in my face.

"Well, as you can see, the training dummy was too weak to withstand my strength. It shattered, and I was hit by its fragments," I said with a serious face, staring at my sister intensely as if trying to prove my point.

In response, she stared back at me for a few seconds. Then she turned to the healer.

"Master Boran, what is your diagnosis?"

The healer raised his head and said:

"Looking at the nature of the fracture and the muscle distortion, it is likely the Prince struck something extremely solid, my Princess."

Jet returned her gaze to me, staring. I stared back while seeing her lips trembling. Soon, she exploded with laughter again.

Tsk.

I turned my head and looked at the healer. I already felt that he had almost finished healing my hand. I focused my gaze on him while activating the glow in my eye.

"Look at me."

I said this as I watched him raise his head. When our gazes met, a shiver of fear ran through his body again, and his whole frame tensed before he quickly lowered his eyes.

Hahahaha.

Well, I'm petty for taking my revenge, but I wanted to understand exactly what this ability was. It was like killing two birds with one stone.

"Well then, sister, I enjoyed talking to you. I'm afraid I must leave."

I said this as I turned around, and we walked out of the healer's room together.

"Certainly, little brother. But you know, my tongue might accidentally slip in front of Mother and the rest of our sisters tonight."

I froze in my tracks upon hearing her words. Slowly, I turned and stared at her coldly.

"What do you want?"

"Tonight, you will sleep in my room at the castle."

When I heard her request, I could only shake my head.

"That's impossible. You know Eunbin will drag us all into the shared room to sleep together."

"No need to worry about that. She won't be around to do so."

The whole thing was ridiculous. But I realized it was a losing battle. And sleeping with my sister was much better than my sisters finding out what had happened.

"Fine."

I said this as I turned and began to leave. I had a project to work on.

"See you tonight."

I ignored her as I continued walking. When I remembered what I was about to do, I couldn't stop a smile from appearing on my face.

Hahahaha.

I focused my gaze on one of the Memories I had obtained.

Memory: [Blood Seed]

Memory Rank: Dormant

Memory Type: Assistant

Description: From the Divine Heart Realm, one of the seeds of the sacred trees traveled, carried by wind and water to another land. Eventually, it reached a land where nothing existed but blood. Thus, the seed adapted and sprouted from the blood, becoming a terrifying monster that grows on blood.

Memory Enchantment: [Bloody]

Enchantment Description: This seed can grow in the midst of blood.

This Memory was something I obtained from the Soul Devouring Tree. I had told it that I would kill it in the real world, but who would believe that I had already killed it in the Nightmare?

Well, despite the mystery of this Memory and its description, it was also simple. It meant I could sprout a sacred tree.

In the novel, the Night Garden was made from a branch of the World Tree, which is the embodiment of the Heart God. The Chain Breaker was also made from a seed found in the grove of the Heart God.

So, my goal was simple. I would build my own ship as well. Of course, since my clan is known for blood, it would be magnificent to build a ship related to blood.

The more I thought about it, the more my excitement grew.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to focus on this work except as a side project. After all, I have a year to prepare for the Winter Solstice, and I won't spend it building a ship I won't use.

But I can prepare first, so it becomes much easier when I start. First and foremost, let's go search for one of the logistics managers here. We will need to obtain Noctis coins to see the original ship designs.

And of course, I still have a few hours before going to the castle. I can use them to check on what happened while I was away.
